membengal Posted December 31, 2021 Report Posted December 31, 2021 Reiff apparently not gonna make it back even if they play beyond week 18 Quote
Stripes Posted December 31, 2021 Report Posted December 31, 2021 Maybe we have a puncher’s chance in this thing. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted December 31, 2021 Report Posted December 31, 2021 How much of a chance does UC have today ?? ArmyBengal Jr and I are down here for the game. This stadium makes you realize how minimal Paul Brown Stadium really is. 1 Quote
Stripes Posted December 31, 2021 Report Posted December 31, 2021 My brother is a UC grad and at the game. I like the Bearcats defense against Alabama, but I worry about them trying to score points. It’ll be fun though. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted December 31, 2021 Report Posted December 31, 2021 Well Mahomes and Kelce are here in Dallas taking in the game. Here’s to hoping UC wins and they go out to party ALL NIGHT !! 1 Quote
TJJackson Posted January 1, 2022 Report Posted January 1, 2022 some guy named Waynes wont be playing this week in related news, i wont be playing either 1 Quote
Stripes Posted January 1, 2022 Report Posted January 1, 2022 Yeah that’s irritating. Learn. The. Lesson. Chirp after you win. 1 Quote

Stripes Posted January 1, 2022 Report Posted January 1, 2022 It's not a big deal and will probably make no difference, but I will describe a bit why it irritates me: 1) I don't think it's behavior becoming of a winner. Being perceived as "the team to beat" isn't actually worth anything and shouldn't be the goal. 2) The rest of the NFL doesn't give a single crap about being sent a "message" or about being "shown". The Bengals themselves certainly shouldn't care about whatever messages other teams think they're sending with their "statement wins". 3) It's a soundbite squeezed from a media goof that can, at least feasibly, turn into new motivation for the opponent. Again, I don't think this is a *serious problem*. It's just something I could do without. 2 Quote

Boyd talking like that means the players are reading and watching media reports about how great they are. Unfortunately, this team so far has shown itself incapable of dealing with adulation. They seem almost surprised that their opponent didn’t spend the week deciding how to surrender to the mighty Cincinnati Bengals. For God’s sake, we lost to the fucking Jets. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted January 2, 2022 Report Posted January 2, 2022 Help me out here… Obviously it would nice if we just beat the Chiefs, but are we (dare I say) rooting for the Steelers to beat the Browns due to our sweeping the Steelers ?? Oh and a Ravens loss won’t hurt. I think it’s all this Texas goodness clouding my mind, although one could argue it’s the bourbon. Quote
Stripes Posted January 2, 2022 Report Posted January 2, 2022 Optimal weekend, if the Bengals don’t win, is Rams over Ravens and Steelers over Browns. If that occurs and then the Ravens beat the Steelers next week, the Bengals clinch the division even with an 0-2 finish. Quote
Stripes Posted January 2, 2022 Report Posted January 2, 2022 Technically a Steelers-Browns tie is optimal, but rooting for that is rather silly. Quote
