I would try and trade for Gabe Jackson from the Raiders, but I really think they like the OL group a lot as well.

This is another nice pick up and with that I think the LB might be pretty good.

For those who remember Takeo Spikes Brian Simmons and Steve Foley... that was a nice core of linebackers

The theme is extreme HIGH CHARACTER picks continued with ADG. Don't need to worry about his work ethic. Another team captain.

So right.  The thinking is get a guy who will show up and contribute, even if it’s just teams and depth.

The old Bengals method - try to hit a home run in later rounds by ignoring character issues and other red flags such as lack of production in college.  If the guy had an incredible ceiling, we’d grab him.  Jason Shirley.

Now it seems to be the opposite.  Look for guys who were productive team members, if they are depth forever, so what.  They do their job, fill that needed role, and are low maintenance.  I always felt ill when they grabbed a guy and planned to change his position due to his great measurable.  Hardly ever worked.

I'll take a moment of silence for TJ's long-lasting patience this year. RIP.

Yeah

I like this player quite a bit, but I think it's fair to say I hate this pick, for reasons already stated

The RIP should go to New Guy instead, as he will be buried regularly under DLs who are all but escorted directly to the QB

Hard to believe they are wasting the investment in Burreaux like this, but again, FO stupidity has sadly always been the overarching theme for this franchise

If Jordan isn't better in his second season, they should cut him. Hopkins is solid at C. They think they upgraded RG with Sua-Fila. And there is competition at RT with Hart and Johnson. A lot of this comes down to Jonah Williams. IF Williams steps in right away and is what he is supposed to be, a lot of stuff falls into place. IF he's a bust, then that is going to be a huge problem.

I think their plan is they are more comfortable with the o-line than you are. Or I am. That's their bet. They did get better the last eight games of last year, and that was even with a turnstile at LT. Williams will not be a turnstyle.
