Beringer was the frst player to go directly from Europe to the NFL without stopping somewhere else first.  Example Muhlmann started as a soccer player from the KC prof. Soccer team and of course Hunt went to Texas A&M.

Overall, just really impressed with our draft.  Repeatedly taking BPA, or close to it.  For example - my personal combination of being a Buckeye homer and an Andy skeptic makes me crazy for Cardale Jones.  I desperately wanted the Bengals to draft him.  Having said that, I'm glad that instead of doing stupid crap like that, they go get actual football players.

Cody Core seems to be the big bodied type of WR the Bengals seem to favor, and has some speed (4.47 at his pro day) and has a lot of experience playing coverage special teams

Dont dislike any of that

But he isn't a returner, and thats what we needed

Ever get the impression that the Bengals only scout about 150 players?  The quality of their drafts fall off dramatically after the 5th in the last several years.

There is zero job growth in the NFL.    Every year  300+ new applicants come in as cheaper labor.    In addition the Bengals have been a playoff team 6 out 7 years so playing time has been scarce for young players typically selected in the bottom half of the rounds.

They still had two former 5th rounders as top FA targets.  Iloka and Jones.     

I bet they are out performing the majority of teams.
