COB Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 25% of the coaches in the playoffs this year are from Marvin's coaching tree. If you can say Marvin has a tree. Marvin, Zim, and Chucky's brother are all in already. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 The pressure is all on Denver tonight: Quote The game means even more to the Broncos, who can clinch a playoff berth with a win but would fall behind the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets to No. 6 with a loss. Denver could finish anywhere from the top seed at 12-4 to out of the playoffs if the Steelers also finish 10-6. Crazy, huh? Quote

Yeah, I can't decide whether that's a good thing or a bad thing. But I had this penciled in as a loss anyhow. Hopefully I'm wrong! Quote
gregcook68 Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 I am assuming that everyone is rooting and hoping for a big stage victory tonight. However, what is everyone truly 'expecting'? Army has said, throughout the year, after key victories, "How much more do the Bengals need to do to 'prove' themselves?" For me Army, tonight is that game, on so many levels. I am expecting the egg .... BUT if they win tonight, overcoming many odds, I will 'expect' them to be playing for the AFC championship, and barring key injuries, the SB! Quote
ArmyBengal Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 I started to put together a response, but I just don't really care. I simply want to see them win tonight and continue that moving forward. Go Bengals. 1 Quote
Stripes Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 I anticipate a loss primarily because it's just a crapload to ask of McCarron to win on the road against that defense without Eifert. If the Bengals defense has a big game then it's winnable though. Unless the Bengals just stink up the place and get their butts handed to them, I wouldn't consider a loss to be some doomy continuation of the primetime failure tradition. It's a tough circumstance and ignoring that for the sake of media-fed narratives is just pointless. Quote
TJJackson Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 I would be glad to see a win as well, but like SiS, I cant see Mr Katherine Webb pulling off a win without Eifert (maybe even with Eifert) and with Geno on limited snaps in Mile High Quote
gregcook68 Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 I know the comparison isn't perfect, but after watching the Ravens game yesterday, it gave me more 'hope' than I had previously. Yes, the Ravens were at home and it wasn't primetime, but the Ravens have to be the most crippled team in the league, way beyond Flacco. I don't think McCarron or Eifert are they key. Barring turnovers, I think the Bengals offense are 'capable' of scoring more than the Bengals defense are 'capable' of giving up. Turnovers, tackling, third downs. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 Still say this is a battle of o-lines. Which o-line is able to protect the young QB and establish running lanes wins the game. With that being said, I think our o-line has a difficult task with the #1 defense overall. Quote
Stripes Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 I agree GC68 with 3rd down being a huge deal in this game. I am thinking primarily about the defense -- they absolutely cannot afford to give up long 3rd downs and allow Osweiler to get comfortable. I want to see him on the turf, whether it's sacks, hurries, or whatever. Quote
HoosierCat Posted December 28, 2015 Author Report Posted December 28, 2015 I think the key to tonight's game is scoring points. If the Bengals score more points than the Broncos, they stand a good chance of getting out of town with a win. Just score baby! Quote
jonf45uk Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 I honestly expect a loss. Denver is never an easy place to win whether it's a meaningless end of season game or one of great playoff implications. I think it's a huge ask on mccarron due to the distinct lack of running game, dodgy o line and missing eiffert. And of course it's a Monday night with the world watching and we all know how well we do in prime time........ And yet something in me really believes we can win!!! It's the sort of test a truly great team would overcome, and if we're ever going to win the superbowl, games like this must be conquered and the mindset of the entire organisation need to change ;) Sadly, I'm working so am going to have to avoid the score and watch it tomorrow....... hope you guys have a great night and I'll be praying for a win :) Quote

No turnovers, glaring missed tackles, botched coverages, dropped passes, or stupid penalties. Tall order for sure! Quote

Would love to come back here after the game and eat crow with some history rewritten. Told my son yesterday at the 1pm games halftime mark, that I didn't think I could handle a Jets, Ravens, and Bengals win! Quote
