HoosierCat
TE Jake Fisher Murphy cut, WR Michael Bennett added. http://www.cincyjungle.com/2015/8/19/9176459/bengals-wr-michael-bennett-jake-murphy Bennett, a 6'2", 202-pound receiver, caught 134 passes for 1,607 yards (12.0 ypc) and 17 scores during his four years in Athens. Bennett went undrafted in the 2015 NFL draft, mainly due to knee injuries suffered throughout his college career. Bennett is coming off a torn ACL suffered during Georgia's practice this past year in preparation for the Belk Bowl. In 2012, Bennett tore his ACL during a practice in early October. Near the end of the 2013 season, Bennett also tore his meniscus, which caused him to miss the team’s final two games.

volcom69
I like this move, as a bulldog fan I'm glad to see Bennett aboard. I really think he can help if his ACL is healthy, so maybe practice squad this year. Hopefully his injuries are behind him now.

HoosierCat
OK, now today's worrisome news IS about the other Jake. From Hobs: That final 53-man roster may have a taste of France. With rookie left tackle Jake Fisher sidelined by shoulder problems and first-year backup guard Trey Hopkins not practicing as he tries to come back from last year’s broken leg, France has been getting a ton of snaps. After left tackle Andrew Whitworth played the first series against the Giants, France took the next 69 snaps, a team-high. Since Fisher has yet to practice this week, France could be looking at the same type of load in Tampa Monday (8 p.m.-Cincinnati’s Channel 5 and ESPN). And he’s thankful after spending all last season on the practice squad as an undrafted rookie out of Michigan State. So, let's review: Cincinnati uses its first overall pick on an OT who will almost certainly start the season on PUP. Then it uses its second-round pick on another OT...who now has shoulder issues. And of course Moobs has been over on the rehab field this camp at times, too. And Whit is 4,091 years old. Sigh...

ArmyBengal
If Josh Johnson ever managed to complete more than 50% of his passes consistently, his legs would make him dangerous.Oh well, wish him luck with the Jets.

HoosierCat
Nico getting cut is only distressing in that he probably gives you everything First Name Rey does at a lot lower cost. But that dead horse has been beaten enough. Still five guys to go to get to 75 by Tuesday.

GapControl
I can't predict what the bengals are going to do with the Dline and WR groups.... Anyone else?
HoosierCat
WR will be Green, Jones, Sanu, Tate, Little and some guy who'll be inactive all year.Dline I dunno but some good prospects are going to get away.
ArmyBengal
I think the WR group depends on how many they want to carry. They typically carry 6 with one being deactivated on game day.Maybe they only go 5 and carry an extra D-lineman ?? AJ, Sanu, Jones, are a given with Alford being the next closest IMO.Then you are talking about guys like Little, Tate, and Kumerow fighting for the 5th spot. Hardly spectacular and probably sees Tate coming back yet again.McCalebb never had a chance. The D-line usually carries 9 if I remember correctly.Geno, Peko, Dunlap, MJ, Clarke, and Gilberry are locks and you may as well include Hardison being a 4th rounder. That's 7.Then you have Thompson, Still, Hunt and Sims along with DeShawn Williams. I would think they are thinking Williams to the practice squad. I really like his effort in the preseason.Do they keep 2 or 3 of Thompson, Still, Hunt, and Sims ??I don't think they give up on Hunt yet and I think they like Thompson as well. Still the odd man out ??
