COB
Gruden is going to be on Sportscenter at 6:15 pm tonight to lie about how he's going to establish a power running game in DC.
HoosierCat
The stupid things he did in Oakland, that's all it is.Could very well be, though I suspect not a few other teams would view getting shtcanned in Oakland as a badge of honor.I like willie's word, "greasy." That's the word I was looking for.Again, Hue succeeds and no one cares how he got there. And if they had brought someone in from outside, that person could just as easily have failed. Coordinators are almost as much a crapshoot as draft picks. Time will tell and I hope Hue does good.
volcom69
Gruden is going to be on Sportscenter at 6:15 pm tonight to lie about how he's going to establish a power running game in DC.That's what made me so mad about Gruden! He came in promising a power running game, and never committed to it! I'm so ready for a more balance offense, and hopefully that's what Hue will bring.Man watching Twitter today you would think the bengals are the greatest. Everyone saying how the bengals got so much better with Gruden leaving and Hue taking his spot. Hope they are right.
HoosierCat
It's official with Hue./>http://cincinnati.com/blogs/bengals/2014/01/09/jackson-officially-becomes-bengals-offensive-coordinator/

cincyhokie
I listened to Gruden's press conference. He's in over his head there in DC. Just my opinion...but I think he crashes and burns. I hope not, though.
membengal
Artrell lit up jay I am hearing, on Mo's show on 1530 and said the move to hue is a big positive. Anyone hear the spot?

Kazkal
Well im not sad to see jay go and felt like his replacement does give us best chance win im 2014,I also think Hue is realisticly best OC we could brought in this year workin with Marvin...with that being said I wish Jay good luck though I dont see him having much success nothing to do with his coaching but Redskins are a s**t show with biggest Drama qb currently in the league...I could see why they may been interested jay figuring he did what he did with Dalton at QB but they better draft some Wide Receivers and Tight Ends. Earendil
Does Andy Dalton's shoulder have the same agent as Ed Reed's beard?Excellent question. It's probably mentioned in the article, but since I don't have Insider, I can't check.
jjakq27
I heard the replay around 5:20. His main complaint is that Jay didn't have the entire offense watch the all-22 videos together. He didn't say who or how many did but he said he's never heard of a coordinator that didn't make the entire side watch it together. He also intimated that Gruden only got the job because of his name. I got the impression that he thought other more qualified candidates were passed over three years ago. Artrell is a very passionate guy but I've never heard him quite that direct. I don't think he cared for JG at all.
membengal
Consider me highly bugged the jay said today he was never comfortable calling plays against the 3-4 defense. Explains a LOT with regard to issues against browns, steelers, and ravens.

Explains a LOT with regard to issues against browns, steelers, and ravens.Yes, that's maybe a way too honest, and revealing, thing to say. If he really has trouble v the 3-4, guess what looks I'm going to give him as an opponent? Hear that Cowboys, Eagles and Giants?
Sea Ray
Maybe it's just me but I don't see Head Coach when I look at Jay Gruden. He looks like the "little brother" to me. To the contrary, Hue Jackson looks like quite a leader. He initially got noticed here in Cincinnati for how he handled our WRs ten years ago and he had quite a job managing the likes of Chad, Housh and Slim. That is the only time I ever saw them disciplined and recise in their execution. I think Hue will be an excellent OC and a head coach if that's where this leads. I hated losing him to the Ravens and Raiders years ago
HoosierCat
The feeling had been growing on me for a while that Jay wasn't exactly the sharpest tack in the box. He isn't stupid (I think) but not the mentally quickest guy out there. The DC media will eat him alive.

Kazkal
Still feel like Raiders be lot better off if they kept hue.but like brownies to quick to fire.another thing I love about this move is how fiery hue. I look forward what they do next year RUN the ball and play defense...I see gio being a even bigger part of our offense next year
