Chargers @ Bengals Pregame Chatter

I've been holding in this sentiment all week but I can no longer abstain from voicing my opinion.

The Bengals are going to kick the Chargers ass. I don't think the score will reflect this ass kicking appropriately enough.

The fans will be in it, and all of the frustration from all of the past 22 years of non-playoff winning seasons will come to a head tomorrow. It's our time.

I don't see this being any less than a 14 point win.

As for the weather, Winter Storm Watch for Cincinnati. Heavy snow possible during the game, 4-6 inches of accumulations during the daytime.

I can't remember the last time the Bengals played a game during heavy snow.

The way they're talking about it now, most of that snow will fall after the game. They're saying the rain may change to snow late in the game. Let's keep a close watch on this as this forecast is still evolving but right now it doesn't look like we'll see more than an inch of snow for the game itself

I just saw that on the weather channel they say maybe 1-2 inches of snow during the day 3-5 inches at night. It looked like rain turning to snow. Who knows what it's going to do.

Yes, that's what I gleam from the forecasts too

on one of nfl.com article it says

The Bengals came up six points shy of becoming the first team in NFL history to score at least 40 points in five consecutive homes games.

so it is obviously another team did score 40 pts or more in 4 home game in a row. anyone know what team is that?

They would have had it if it weren't for the interception in the end zone.

OK ... it's the Play-Offs round 1 .....let's play ball !!!

Cincy hosting the San Diego Chargers who they beat in SD in week 13, by a scoreline of 17-10. In the Dec 1st meeting of the two sides, this is how the stats played out:-

Dalton : 14 of 23 for 190 yards 1 TD 1 INT

Rivers : 23 of 37 for 252 yards 1 TD 1 INT

Cincy rushing : BJGE & Gio rushed a combined 34 times for a total 149 yards

SD rushing : Woodhead & Matthews went 21 times for 83 yards

Cincy passing : Green & Hawkins combined for 8 catches totalling 148 yards

SD passing : Kellen, Green, Gates & Mattews went 20 taotal catches for 223 yards

Rivers was sacked twice ... Dalton zero .... lets hope this plays out similarly again. I'm sure if our secondary can cover the passing options then the D will find ways to hurry Rivers and get him on the ground.

Huber averaged 55.5yds on 4 punts ... Scifres avearged 38 on 4 .....this stat may end up more even this time round.

I would hope we'd continue to see the Bengals run the ball first and foremost especially if the weather conditions are cold and windy ... pound the turf, eat the clock, win the game ... if we can control the game with the run and establish a lead then Rivers will be forced to throw in the wintry conditions which would suit our secondary nicely :sure:/>

Although SD went pass heavy, and had some success (Kellen 106yds), the Bengals were very efficient in gaining good yardage when they passed. This was a game where the O-Line gave excellent protection to Dalton allowing him and the WRs time to make the plays when they had to as well as allowing the RBs to do their job.

As in the first meeting if the Bengals O Line plays well then we should win the game quite convincingly, forcing Rivers to attempt big plays in the latter stages of the game where Kirkpatrick will be looking for another pick !!

Bengals 31 - 20 Chargers

Planning my attire for said "playoff" game. Considering a simple Bengals T, or perhaps a jersey, possibly Shipley or Housh. Might go with my Bengals Polo.

Hat, Will be the flat brim with standard B.

Jeans and flip flops.

Have cans of skyline on hand, plus 3 dozen wings ready to prep. KCCO Black Lager, and Sierra Nevada Ruthless IPA. Some may think "that's too early to enjoy a cold adult beverage', and those folks would be dead wrong.

Sleep will not come easy, and light if at all. Black night, Striped dreams, orange sunrise, and soon the game will start. All is on hand, ready to go.

Bengals win.

Bengals win.

It's a 6:05pm kick off on this side of the pond - perfect time for footy, feasting and a few beers! Big ol' rump steak, mash potatoes, and homebrewed chilli-ale for me :cheers:/>

Shipley jersey, orange spiked up hair, black jeans .... an hours drinking before kick-off then one pint per quarter, one at half time, and a large dram for every Bengals score ... I'll worry about tomorrow when tomorrow comes :)

So sounds like more rain them anything at kickoff, with snow after the game? On the weather channel it shows like 40 degrees outside.

Either way it's sloppy conditions, so they need to take care of the ball no turnovers.

7 total turnovers in the 2 games yesterday.

Ironically the teams that LOST the turnover war won!

Colts - 4 Chiefs - 1

Saints - 2 Eagles - 0

Like every other game, got the huge Bengal flag displayed in the front yard. Got my personalized Bengal jersey on! Wearing my Bengal slippers. Will have my mini Bengal football in hand throughout the game as well. Sky line chili for lunch and the wife will be out shopping during the game. We have found that when she goes out shopping (she wears her Bengal gear) we win. Who Dey looking for a great played game and a win.

Does she really need to go shopping or did you kick her out, and tell her it's for the team lol lol.
