nice size and weight - hope he is quick off the stance and quick to pick up the playbook. Good move adding some strength and depth to the D-line

He will suffice. Still comes back and they will have an OK rotation. Pass plays, Gilberry and maybe Hunt kick inside, good for Hunt to get more snaps.

Don't let loss of Atkins derail the team mojo. It has to roll on. Make it so.

Should have picked up a veteran - Rocky Bernard for example

draft profile is about as underwhelming as it gets, aside from his wingspan

hardly.you must not have seen Giberry's.. and rocky Bernard is a stiff-has been for some time.

Deal voided by the NFL. Christo, who's Canadian, doesn't have a work permit...

great. bilukidi goes not have legal ststus. therefore, he can do anything he wants in the U.S. but work.

He had a permit to play in Oakland but it doesn't transfer. He needs a new one to play elsewhere and per Hobs that will take 1-2 weeks. Bengals can't wait so they will sign someone else.

With any luck Still comes back and Randall doesn't even see the field. He does look like an interesting project; most of his alleged issues are coachable ones. And the only DT we have in the wings is Larry Black, who will be coming off the training camp injury we saw on HK. No reason he can't stick around through camp next season and maybe the PS after if he has any eligibility left.

He'll have a big problem making the roster next summer after our healthy bodies return as well as another class of draftees and FAs. Now's when we bodies

Your point on DT pipeline is well taken. The PS is devoid of D-Interior. It will be hard to crack that "Top 4", especially with passing down DT/DE swing philosophy.

One thing of note as I was scanning the IR. LB next year with everyone healthy and another year of experience is going to be very interesting. Joiner, Porter, Lamur all on IR. Couple that with JK and the cast of vets and Mays and that will be a group to watch.

Sounds like Hunt will get some reps at DT. From Hobs:

» Now that Atkins is shelved for the year with a torn ACL in his right knee, rookie end Margus Hunt, like all of the defensive linemen, are going to be asked to do more than usual. Going off the Miami game after Atkins was hurt, that would indicate he'll be working some at tackle on passing downs.

It's a challenge for the 6-8 Hunt, who has been working all season to play low on the perimeter and now has to get even lower.

"It's a lot more compact, a lot less freedom to work with," Hunt said before practice Wednesday. "It's harder for me because usually the guards are a lot shorter than the tackles, so I have to really focus on keeping my pads down."

  • 2 weeks later...

UPDATE: Guess who's back ??

It took two weeks longer than anticipated but defensive tackle Christo Bilukidi is a member of the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals attempted to sign Bilukidi on Nov. 4, but the contract was nullified by the league because Bilukidi, who is Canadian, didnt have the proper work permit to be employed in the United States.

Cincinnati had to look elsewhere and signed Kheeston Randall to fill their open roster spot.

Now that Bilukidi apparently has the proper credentials in place, the Bengals signed him to a deal on Wednesday and released Randall.
