HoosierCat
PFF just rated me as the top commenter on any pro football message board.Yeah, but that's just because of your high satire and sarcasm scores. :P/>Back on the game, Still and Newman were out today. BJGE also didn't practice because of illness. No sign of PUP guys Pressley or Zac Robinson, who are eligible to return to practice this week, or Hawkins, who can also start practicing this week.ETA: @sky: yup. COB
Gotta be a Pittsburgh fan this week.Yeah, yeah.....sad but trueNever. I don't care about the standings and the Ravens, we can beat the Ravens when we play them. I'll never root for the Steelers, and you shouldn't either. If you must root for the Steelers, after you're done, go down to the river and scrawl "I hate the Steelers" on a rock, then throw it in. That should take care of matters. combatbengal
I heard on NF radio today that Stafford has only been sacked 9 times this season! Hoping our D can come up with 3-4 sacks!
combatbengal
And another note, we need to be aware of Ndamukong Suh. If he gets a chance to take out our QB he will. Suh has been fined seven times for a total of $209,000, plus an additional $165,294 in game checks for a two-game suspension in 2011. He was just fined $31,500 for a hit on Cleveland's QB, so he's not afraid to lose and money. Dalton better bring his running and scrambling cleats this weekend! Air2theThrown
Lions DL vs your OLDE - Were one starter out at DE but the drop off to our young back-up's aren't to bad. Ziggy Ansah is leading all rookies in the NFL in sacks. He's very disruptive and much more rounded then advertised. He's getting better every game and has went up against some very good LTs and had success already. Our DT's in Suh and Fairley are very disruptive and put a lot of pressure on opposing QBs. I believe this philosophy is in part why we give up the occasional big run.

Riddick, Fox, Burleson and Scheffler won't play this week which is the same as last week.Bells a very good running back and it's nice to see him back in practice. He's a fan favorite and very hard to tackle. A solid short yardage 3rd down back. He's also a big part of an offensive scheme where Reggie bush lines up at slot. A Difficult scheme to defend as Bell is a solid Runner, with Reggie In a slant pattern where he has had some good success, Calvin out wide and our two TEs is almost impossible to defend as Matt always has someone open. The only real way to defend is it to get Matt quickly.
COB
Megatron and that six foot eight guy? Kind of a matchup nightmare for our dbs. I think this Lions fan is right, and we may see more pressure and blitz packages than we've ever seen from Zimmer. And that's saying something. Interior of the line is a different story, though the way things are going Suh may get thrown out in pregame warmups for an illegal sneeze in the direction of the visitor's locker room. Air2theThrown
Calvin Practiced everyday this week. This is the first time since Sept that he's been able to practice everyday. He also practiced without a knee brace. Rumors out of Det is he's not 100% but looks good and is expected to get more snaps as well as be a bigger factor this week.Having Calvin somewhat healthy is huge for DET as it opens up more of their play book. The Lions are much more potent when Calvin's playing healthy. Youl know just how healthy Calvin is if he goes deep early in the game. If they have him running short routes I won't expect a big game from him. A healthy Calvin will force your team to put at least double coverage on him. This should be a good match-up and if the game was in Cinci I'd give the edge to the Bengals. However DET at home is a tough team to beat. Ford Feild is a fast Feild and DET's offense is much better on it. Ford Feild is a loud stadium and should be rocking hard come Sunday. This is an exciting Match-up and regardless of who wins I'd like to wish your team good luck this year. Lets just have an injury free game and may the best team win. ArmyBengal
I'm glad Newman is back and hope he's ready to go, because if Calvin Johnson is healthy, all the help we have the better.I think Hall draws Megatron, but I don't like the 6 inch differential there. Double team away. This will put more pressure on the rest of the secondary to do their jobs and stay disciplined.Bush and their new found TE target also present problems and we can't give Stafford all day.On the flip side, I think the Detroit defense will have its hand full as well.Their secondary is a little roughed up and Green will need to be doubled. That will free up our two TE sets and give Gio ample opportunities on screen plays.Like I mentioned before, this could be a shootout.Who wins the battle of turnovers and makes less mistakes (penalties) ?? Sorry the first part of your hope didn't come true, at least for us. Looks like we lost our best CB Hall for the year.Good luck the rest of the way.
