TJJackson
Somethings wrong, Mem - you and I are both happy with the same pickI will have a hard time going negative on this one, but should I flip flop here? :-)
ShulaSteakhouse
I like the highlight reel on him - nice quick burst and the strength to shed blocks. Like Eifert, looks like a crazy/rare athlete. Those long arms are nice also when he's able to reach around a guy and disrupt a QB - interesting guy.[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiqRrJ35lzE
UK Bengal
Welcome to the eastern block I can just see it now standing over the center on FG looks at the center and says "I will break you" lmao
HoosierCat
It's a project pick. Hunt is raw and will need the time he will get in Cincy (due to MJ and Dunlap) to develop. Not sure he's really suited for a run-stuffing role, it doesn't sound like he's got the agility for it, but he should excel as a pass rusher/blocker. Just get those hands up! Late second was probably a little high for a developmental player but with three picks in the first two rounds Cincy could afford to roll the dice. What's the over under on how many FG/Punts this kid blocks? I'm going to set it at 3.
volcom69
I was hearing that they asked Zimmer who he wanted and he said Hunt, so who knows, but i like the pick a lot.
ArmyBengal
He doesn't have to be MJ or Dunlap's replacement, but may end up being just that.To make me happy for the time being, I look at him as Geathers replacement.Yeah, happy about this pick as well. There are still plenty of good player capable of helping out immediately.Kerry Rhoads was someone many here thought would be an awesome signing and could keep us from reaching for a safety at all.If those people still believe that, well, he's still out there for the taking and could negate getting a safety. Kazkal
Have say I think hunt gonna be my favorite pick from this years draft. His measurables are insane good production and gets to come in and learn since we have one of the best Dlines in the nfl. HoosierCat
This is an awesome piece. I would pay money to have been at that recital. />http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/59701/from-world-class-discus-thrower-to-nfl-draft-pick-estonias-margus-hunt-continues-to-surprise
Stripes
Hunt is definitely my favorite pick right now. I don't even think he's a project. He is a monster and I think he can contribute immediately (dependent upon how often he sees the field). I like that the Bengals bolstered a strength at least once (arguably twice with Eifert) in an early round. Our DE depth with Johnson, Dunlap, Geathers, Gilberry, and Hunt is obscene.I keep drooling imagining him lining up next to Geno on occasion. HoosierCat
He's definitely a project, but there are different kinds of projects. Hunt isn't ready to start in the NFL. But he should make an immediate impact on teams and as a situational guy. As has been said he's in a good place that gives him time to develop (a sentence I never thought I would write about cincy).Meanwhile, the view from Estonia:/>http://news.err.ee/Sports/840fb676-1e2b-4478-a485-5eb700a0a264Has anyone told MB he has 1.3 million new fans? Don't, he might move PBS to the Baltic!

rwalling@pinnacleactuaries.com
and it doesn't stop with his size/speed ratiovery long arms - 34in - and usually longer armed guys have a harder time getting high numbers on the 225 lifts - but this guy did 38 of themT H I R T Y E I G H Tsize + wingspan + speed + strength = scarey high potentialobviously, it remains to be seen if all these physical blessings - potential - can be translated into football production, but with Zimmer as his DC, I am VERY optimisticIf you haven't seen the video of him benching 385 five times, it is MUST SEE video for Bengals fans!www.stack.com/video/2288938245001/Margus-Hunt-Benches-385-Pounds-for-Five-Reps/
ShulaSteakhouse
Yeah he has the Jevon Kearse "freak" thing going on. I still think they envision him being another Dunlap type (and insurance if they lose him to injury or after his contract year's up).I think this is someone they want to push Dunlap with, you don't hear about it from the patsy local media types here, but Dunlap still has off-season work ethic issues. It's one reason why he gets hurt a lot...just look at hisbody, hardly developed as of last season in terms of muscle tone and strength still, and that was one of the big reasons he dropped in the draft. He gets by on natural ability but probably won't have the longest career.
TJJackson
What I have seen of Dunlap tells me he could be a bigger star than Geno - yes, I fully believe that - if he fully committed himselfWhen he is healthy and on, he just makes huge plays and is immensely disruptive

Just on your observations of his body that you alluded to?
