Yeah, it doesn't look like a Reed suspension is in the cards. Which may not be a bad thing. He's been playing hurt all year and I'm really not sure he isn't a liability out there.

Not crazy about playing the starters but like Marvin said rest hasn't helped before.

It is dumb to risk the starters getting injured for a nothing game. If Green goes down, just how far will this team go? There are many others that need to not play next week, not for the rest, just to keep them from getting banged up.

What would be better than beating the Ravens a week after trouncing the Steelers and heading into the playofff with a head of steam?

What could be worse than getting beat by the Ravens in a game where Green and Atkins both get IR'd?

Note 1: Palmer has cracked ribs, bruised lung, out for the final game.

Note 2: Bengals extend hours for ticket office in hopes of selling out vs. Baltimore.

Note 3: fun with record books, Baltimore game edition:

With 13 sacks, Pro Bowl defensive tackle Geno Atkins needs one more to have the second-best sack season in club history, behind only Coy Bacon's 22 in 1976. And with 9.5 sacks, right end Michael Johnson is bidding with Atkins to become the first Bengals teammates with double-digit sack seasons since left end Eddie Edwards and outside linebacker Reggie Williams in 1981.

Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Green needs five more catches to join T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Carl Pickens as the only Bengals with 100-catch seasons. A 117-yard day day would break the single-season club record Chad Johnson set in 2007 and give Green 1,441.

Backing in again with no attitude and no rhythm.

And why wasn't Dalton on your list? He's the guy most likely to suffer injury in a game like this.

To be honest I'd like to see most of the starters sit this one out, get/stay healthy and be ready to play in Foxboro.

The other positive is if a starter goes down early in the playoffs the backup player has at least played a full game recently. I think Whit, Dalton, Sims, Nelson and any other starter that is nursing an injury should see very few, if any snaps in this Ravens game, screw backing in to the playoffs. Go in with as strong/healthy a team as possible.

We need a playoff win. We also need to beat the Ravens, and get this stupid stat for Dalton and Green (never beaten the Ravens) off the board. I say play to win the game. Sure they could get hurt, but they're all tough boys.

They have to play to win if you dont you might as just say the same thing every week dont play aj he could get injured they are football players it comes with the teritory besides momentum is a positive thing.

I am glad they are playing. Every time I have to help someone move, about half way through it. I feel like I'm going to die, but I have to keep going. If I stop and take a break it is too hard to get back up and continue to move furniture. Same thing applies. The players are 6-1 in the last 7. They are one of the hottest teams in theleague right now. Just keep the pedal on the gas and see where you are at the end.

Going into the playoffs some team are hotter than others. Here are last 4

Ravens 1-3

Cincy 3-1

Houston 2-2

Colts 3-1

Pats 3-1

Broncos 4-0

If we ever beat the Patriots I would have more optimism. Brady and Belichick have been tough. But but pass rush is the key to beating them, and the Bengals have that. BJGE can give a little insight. IF the Bengals can pul out that game. I don't think there is anyone they can't beat. It's all offensive teams, and the Bengals have the best pas rush in the AFC. Well Denver too. I like the Bengals vs Denver though is conference title game. Manning historically can choke. We have no pressure on us, and a great pass rush, and can run and pass. Let's get it on.

Stabby moved back to the active roster but won't play Sunday.

Hopefully he will be liberally rotated and they'll have a big ole oxygen mask for him to wear at all other times

That's basically what they did when they played in Denver last year. Geno had 2 tackles and a sack in that game so it seems to have worked out.

FULL: Nugent

Do not want. Josh Brown all the way. He's proven himself clutch. Kickers like that are rare. Think back to Shayne, he could earn the job every year in camp, then when we needed him: an offensive display of choke.

Just checked out Josh Brown on wiki. Dude high jumped 6'8" and won the Oklahoma state championship his junior and senior year. He made the state finals in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. His senior year he had over 10,000 yards as a running back and returner, and scored 51 touchdowns that year. Basically, Josh Brown is a freaking stud and he kicked us into the playoffs, and kicked Pittsburgh out of the playoffs. I'd keep him as our new kicker.
