I saw that yesterday as well.

I actually feel bad for him.

At this point he should just focus on rehabbing the knee further and attempt a comeback next year.

He had all the potential in the world and it's funny how we were talking about how he could (and did) take Quan Cosby's job from him. There was a lot of discussion about that very topic.

The boys on my son's "Clinic" OCJAAF team tackle better than the Bengals. Seriously.

I effing loved that video. Classic single wing football that I haven't seen since my high school ran it back in the 70s. The first play they put the wing in motion, then pulled the right guard. They must have put an athlete at right guard. Anyway, this offense is meant to put a ton of kids at the point of attack and that first play illustrates it perfectly.

Also notice the deceptive practice, circa 1925, of putting two backs in qb position who both squat down and put their hands, palms up, on the ground. The defense can't see who the ball is snapped to, and various types of fakes really work out of this formation. What is amazing about that video is the number of passes that work. Their coach has probably been running it a long time and has designed those plays. The single wing is most definitely not a passing offense, but those kids made it look like one!

Its such a fun offense for little guys. Simple enough for them to execute and with good athletes they are really good at running it. WIth a few explosive plays they then move to ground and pound and simply dont give the opponent any possesion time.

They added some additional plays over the last couple weeks, a screen and two more power runs. Its been devastating so far this season. My son was in the same team (same head coach) two years ago, and they went to the OCJAAF semi finals that year.

Keep hitting that link as the game film is added. coach marks the key plays and thats how they get the highlight footage.

My son is #44, wing back (offense) and corner. They start this weekend playing some of the south central LA teams. they are really tough, but they beat two of them a couple years ago, and they do not like being beat! Carson, Mona Park, Baldwin Hills... hardcore.

Last Sat, vs Corona Panthers. won 34-6

I like everything about it except for those Patriots-inspired helmets! Seriously, anyone who hasn't watched that video, check it out. After the first set of plays runs, the video automatically starts another. Watch the first play. It is such a classic example of single wing football it should be on an instructional tape somewhere. They load up the right side then just run a mob right over the right tackle. Defenders end up on the turf in the wake of the mob as they run downfield like bowling pins. Beauty.

Also, watch Willie's son as he takes out the linebacker on the second to last touchdown on the first reel, that right after he executed a sweet kickout block on the defensive end on the previous play that was a td pass.

And some more:

There are injuries everywhere you look in the Bengals cornerback corps, so the team made a move Saturday to add a healthy body to the mix.

The Bengals signed Chris Lewis-Harris off their practice squad to give them one more option heading into Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. The Bengals will definitely be without Dre Kirkpatrick and they could also be missing Nate Clements, Jason Allen and Leon Hall. Clements did not practice all week because of a calf injury and Allen missed the last two days thanks to a thigh injury. Both of them are listed as doubtful while Hall is questionable with the hamstring injury that kept him out last week.

Adam Jones and Terence Newman are likely to start again this week — Clements played safety in Week Three — and the team clearly needed a healthy body behind them. Lewis-Harris was signed as undrafted free agent out of Tennessee-Chattanooga this offseason and has never played an NFL game. He had 13 tackles and a sack in preseason.

The Bengals released tight end Richard Quinn to make room for Lewis-Harris. A second-round pick of the Broncos in 2009, Quinn has turned into a journeyman blocking tight end who could conceivably return once Cincinnati gets healthier at corner.

Good move bringing up CLH. From what I saw of preseason the kid looked like he was busting his tail. Played his entire junior year at safety; other 3 were at corner, so he has swingman potential.

On another note, it really doesn't look like the Bengals value the TE spot much this season, does it?

No it really doesn't.

I know Gresham has dealt with some injury concerns and tha tmay have some reason to that, but i'm disappointed.

In a season where they could be running far more 2 TE sets, I think they are missing an opportunity.

I like that Charles is going to start getting more snaps though.

I agree with our second string QB not having the skills to take over if Dalton goes down. Heck I was the one saying that our 3rd string guy looked better in preseason! I still have no idea why Tate is on the roster!!

I know it's really really early, but I'm hoping we draft a RB and or DB in the draft! What is it about our Bengals? We get guys in here but when they leave for another team they just shine! then we bring guys in who have never fubmled before and in two weeks he's put the ball on the ground three times now!

We still can't cover anybody and we have no idea how to tackle! Launching your body into another guy isn't tackling!

I'm glad that we're 3-1 but we better improve on carrying the ball, covering WR's on Def and tackling before we play the Giant's, Chargers, Ravens and Steelers!!

By week 10 we should be 6-2!! or 7-1!!

Coverage has been pretty good, especially considering that we had 2 guys with NFL experience active at Corner yesterday. We held Gabbert to below 200 yards. What more do you want? The coverage looked bad early on this year largely because there was no pass rush. The pass rush changes everything. Last week and this week the coverage was much improved, and that was without Leon Hall. It should only get better as these guys get healthy.

I think we need to look at the Faine pick up, really where would this team be right now? I could not be anymore happier then i am with him at center. Just an awesome pick up by the bengals, when they needed somebody bad.

I will certainly sign on with this thought.

Many thought we would be absolutely screwed and he has come in and solidified things nicely.

It can't be forgotten he's got a rookie and a second year player on either side of him.

That's not something unique to the Bengals. Here in Nashville, the local guys were whining about the exact same thing with the Titans.

For what it's worth, many times players leave here and do better due to changes in scheme.

Look at whatshisname with the 49er's. Solid here in a 4-3 and pro bowler in a 3-4.

Then there are the guys who were screw up while here only to put it together somewhere else.

I would say this happens with almost any team.

For those keeping score, CLH has been re-signed to the PS.

Good to see. He looked solid. Can easily see him developing into a valuable player.

What they do to shuffle things when Sims and Moch get back will be really interesting.

I would like to see them cut Geathers, and keep Gilberry.

Would they IR a guy like Kirkpatrick, if the other DB's are healthy? how about them dumping Mays? Maybe they dump Whalen...

Rosterology continues.

No way do they cut Mays, when he is starting, plus he is Marvin and Zims pet.

I still have no idea why Whalen is on the team, i like Whalen, but with Jones, and Sanu on the team will they ever use Whalen?

I would love to see Gilberry stay, he may not have alot of stats but from what i have seen, he has gotten some really good pressures. However i dont see them cutting Geathers either, once again Marvin like Geathers and dont see them cutting him.

My guess will be Gilberry, and Whalen, but i guess time will tell.
