Kazkal
Dunlap sure loves the pick, just seeing what he was tweeting.Makes ya wonder how high Zimmer and Marvin were on the kid being Dunlap knew he was on their mind and called it before pick was in. TJJackson
Not a big fan of guys with durability issues - you can't do anything but collect a paycheck from the training room - but sounds like he can be a force if we manage to find a way to keep him healthy. Our rotation scheme should help with his stamina issuesI read in some places he has motivation issues, and in others that he has that "I'm the best DT of this crop" chip on his shoulder. Let's hope the player we see is the guy with the chip on his shoulderI read he had a very bad game against Zeitler, which makes me a LOT happier about Zeitler....who I was already pretty happy withThe gimme a lineman crowd should be happy. And I never have to hear from them again.DUDE!We still need that pass rushing DE to pair with Dunlap!!!GIMME MORE LINEMAN :-)(err, maybe a Center too)
HoosierCat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7-il4z0QRcI love that last play of the reel! Hope to see a lot of that in the future.
ArmyBengal
I think when you look at the depth at both the RB and WR spot, along with the value of Still, it was a very solid pick. He's not expected to come in and start and will be able to come along nicely. Very happy with this draft so far.Just get a WR and RB in round 3.Oh and package those late rounders to move up or for future picks.

Living in PA and watching Penn State because they are on all the time, i have seen him take games over on defense it was crazy. If he plays like he did this year, he will be a huge suprise for the defense line.

skyline
Was really hoping for a WR here, but it's very difficult to fault this pick. Great value. He looks like a guy that can really move people. Can't have enough good linemen in this division.
HoosierCat
Not a big fan of guys with durability issues All you really need to know about Devon Still is in the following story. Still tore the ACL in his left knee during his redshirt season in 2007. Though he recovered and looked poised to earn playing time on Larry Johnson's stacked defensive line as a redshirt freshman, he broke his ankle in August. Most players would have looked to rehab their ankles and hope they could convince the NCAA to grant a sixth year of eligibility. Not Devon Still. Instead, he came back on the field the very same season and saw 10 snaps against Michigan State in the final game of the 2008 Big Ten Championship season./>http://www.blackshoediaries.com/2012/4/26/2976113/2012-nfl-draft-devon-still-penn-state-defensive-tackle

derekshank
DEVON STILL - DT - PENN STATE (No. 41 Overall) *POSSIBLE 3-4 DEFENSIVE END*STRENGTHS: Still’s stock started the year high coming off a very good 2010 season. He’s a prototypical de- fensive tackle who can stick inside or even kick out to end in a 3-4 set. Has a good first step and plays with a mean streak. Will fight for ground and can penetrate when in a gap.WEAKNESSES: Anyone who watched Still struggle against Wisconsin this year knows that he cannot get off double teams to save his life. Even when blocked by one man he’ll struggle to break free if engaged. Plays too high at times and can get pushed around.OVERALL: He came into the season as one of the nation’s premier tackles, but a poor season and the overall depth of the defensive tackle class have pushed Still down our board. He’s a second round prospect who could be drafted late in Round One without much of a reach.
Stripes
Great value pick for a team that sucked absolute ASS against the run the moment Sims got hurt. I love it.
wpeldios
When I lined up and looked at the board today, the first thing I said was I hoped Devon Still fell to us. I am absolutely thrilled with this pick. He is a guy who can absolutely push the pocket back. Thrilled, Honestly I am absolutely loving almost everything the bengals have done in this draft. ShulaSteakhouse
A couple of disappointing-combine guys tonight, which will be interesting, and no bad characters, can't complain. Still should at least be a quality rotational interior guy in a 4-3. The more help Atkins/Dunlap get, the better they'll cover up the bad LB's. Sea Ray
Here's the question: Having drafted two fine defensive linemen, who does this bounce off the depth chart? I'm guessing Geathers is one

BengalPimp
I still wanted LaMichael James.....Devon Still is a good player, I just hope they envision him as a Starter....If not, and they passed on James and used a 2nd Rd pick on a guy who will be a 3rd or 4th DT, its not a wise move.....Time will tell....and hope the kid stays healthy. Stripes
I was a big fan of the L. James idea too, but I do think shoring up the DT depth was just as important as upgrading Scott (probably more important). James was never going to be the feature back. HoosierCat
Marvin Lewis says inconsistency led Devon Still to dropPosted by Michael David Smith on April 28, 2012, 5:59 PM EDTThe Bengals were the team that finally got Penn State defensive lineman Devon Still out of the green room with the 53rd pick in the NFL draft, ending a surprising fall for a player who was regarded by many as a first-round talent. So why did Still fall so far?Bengals coach Marvin Lewis was blunt in his assessment of Still when asked about that during ESPN’s draft broadcast: Lewis said Still needs to take it upon himself to go hard on every play, because NFL scouts didn’t see that from him in college.“People were questioning the consistency of his play,” Lewis said. “You have to play hard every snap and we’ve got to get that consistency out of him.”Lewis’s comments echo those of Bengals defensive line coach Jay Hayes, who said he thinks that as a rookie, Still will get about 15 to 20 snaps a game in the defensive line rotation. In college Still averaged 55 snaps a game, and he said playing less in the NFL will help him to have a higher motor when he is on the field.“That’s a lot of plays; especially at the college level and being in the conference I played in,” Still said. “I actually think playing [fewer] snaps will help my burst out. Help me make more of an impact.”It’s not exactly the most inspiring comment to hear a player talking about wanting to be on the field for fewer snaps, but every NFL team rotates its defensive line, and if fewer snaps are what it takes to get the best out of Still, that could be a case of getting more with less./>http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/04/28/marvin-lewis-says-inconsistency-led-devon-still-to-drop/
ArmyBengal
Still isn't going to be playing the amount of snaps here that he was at Penn St. so I just don't see the issue for a player that has first round talent.Put him in the rotation and let him learn from the guys ahead of him.Isn't that how a good team is suppose to work ??You know a position is solid when you draft a first round talent guy and don't expect him to start.Very nice !!! That's the point, Army. There's no "issue." He'll be more effective because he won't be "Justin Smith-ed" like he was in college. Now, it will be interesting to see where he's at 2-3 years from now, when he's improved his conditioning and looking at what he needs to do to earn top-tier starting coin...
