Agree with skyline becoming less heart broken about decastro...though why did he have to go to the steelers >…<

Glad to see you're healing. When the Steelers got him, I told my wife there were going to be some pissed off Bengals fans :P

That said, if Zeitler + a 3rd doesn't ease the pain, then I'm not sure what people WILL be pleased with.

I really thought they'd take Worthy or Branch but I like Zeitler. Had not seen him listed this high but whatever, they got the an extra 3 and a starting guard. Nice.

Nfl.com had him rated 85.0 which was about what most 20-30for were rated

I'd seen him listed as a late r2 pick, so what does the media know...

I like it.

Hearing DeCastro's name when the Steelers picked was the worst moment of the draft for me. I had still hoped he'd make it to us at our new 2nd spot.

Nothing against Zeitler, who I am reading more about now that he is a Bengal. My favorite bits, in no particular order: nasty demeanor (as Hair oft said: "be the bully"), high IQ, killer instinct, plays to the whistle, top football IQ, outstanding intangibles.

There are claims he is limited athletically, but the film I've seen shows him pulling and hitting multiple folks, which is all I want and more from this spot.

KEVIN ZEITLER - OG - WISCONSIN (No. 43 Overall)

STRENGTHS: The best all-around run blocker in this year’s draft class--at any position. Zeitler has textbook technique and is incredibly consistent in hand placement, timing and impact. Has good quickness to work down the line of scrimmage.

WEAKNESSES: Where’s the upside? What you see might be what you get with Zeitler. While he has good lateral quickness, his straight-line speed is just OK. Would like to see more dominance at times, as he tends to throttle down against lesser opponents.

OVERALL: A great fit at guard in a zone or man blocking scheme. Has the power, drive and technique to be an All-Pro.

Prisco had him mocked to the Steelers at 24.

I have to assume our coaches just didn't love DeCastro as much as the media and fans did, because they had to know that when they traded down with new england that DeCastro would be gone.

We'll see how this Badger works out. That Wisconsin o line sure kicks ass on the bucks every year.

Don't sell your hair to a wig shop.

Was s**tting myself when DeCastro and Glenn still there ay #21 only to see them trade back to #27. Pick up an extra 3rd fine. Then take Zeitler? I like Zeitler, and am not crushed missing out on DeCastro, but they still could have traded back into the top of the 2nd and still gotten Zeitler and another pick.....oh well, I'm good with this 1st Rd.....Now I want a WR (or 2) a RB, a DE and a LB....

This just isn't true. Ravens were all over Zeitler as well. They traded out after we grabbed him. Not complaining about drafting a Wisconsin lineman, who had great draft grades. Just not a sexy pick, but as bad as our guard play has been how can we complain?

The bold is f**kin' incorrect. The Ravens wanted Zeitler to replace Grubbs. When the Bengals snagged Zeitler, that caused Baltimore to trade out of the 1st round.

Apparently per Marvin, they had Zeitler ranked as the top guard on their board. So trading back and getting a 3rd makes a ton of sense. They got their guy and another valuable pick.

If the Bengals liked Zeitler more than DeCastro, fine. Getting an extra third rounder for a player you legitimately want is very nice.

They had to know Pittsburgh would take him. It was so obvious. So I'll just hope Zeitler works out well. At least it doesn't quite look like they reached for a position of need in a panic.
