Hobson can report what he want but taking ml at what he said in the presser, there may very well be changes yet to come.

True i agree he is just a stupid reporter lol. I just need to settle down, i just cant live with another year of Brat, Paul, or anybody else on this offense staff!!!

The other part of hobson to take w/ salt is that he is now friends w/ the coaches, so...don't look to him to break changes.

Then again, status quo across the board after that debacle would bengalian too, so...

brat could still be fired after the senior bowl doubtfull but possible and I honestly think that there would have been changes if we had a CBA but we havent atm so stick to the same staff to provide stability not what we wanted to hear but makes business sence.

Yep i think everything happend because of the CBA

Just saying Hobson is reporting the the coaching staff will stay intact

For now. Mike said "we" will review coaching personnel and changes may be forthcoming.

I NEED to see a police escort of Bob Bratkowski out of the stadium. Or a news crew filming his reaction as his pass key doesn't work when he tries to enter the stadium.

I NEED it.

YOu know those giant trebuchets they build to fling pianos and cars across fields? I would like to see them build a huge trebuchet at the 50 yard line, then use it to launch Bob out of the stadium once and for all.

Pretty frustrating listening to Mike and Marvin act insulted when anyone asks for any type of useful information whatsoever.

Mike just seems tone deaf in regards to how to PR this whole thing.

He isn't getting my money next year and I don't see why anyone would keep ponying up for tickets or especially any new season ticket holders stepping up.

So another two years of MArvin saying we played hard, but made some mistakes. We will keep working on it.

Groundhog Day

Mike is now saying his scouting department is great, there won't be any changes there. He cited a crap stat that said our scouting department is 10th in the NFL.

I heard that crap , i'm so mad i can't see straight. He said something about David Pollack's injury or something . I wanted to make some points after the press conference but the crap was flowing so smoothly from Brown and Lewis i can't remember it all. I'm ticked off right now!!!

Same here!!

Whats the point, what is there to get excited about nothing so far. Will there be any changes, i guess we dont know, but something needs to change. Who wants to keep giving money to an average team with average coaches!!

Only good thing i read so far is that TO and Chad wont be back, and i can only hope this is true

Two Year Deal.

Probably. After a dozen questions about contract length the best the local scribes could squeeze was Marvin admmitting his deal is longer than anyone else on the staff. Brown chimed in saying that was to give Lewis the security he needs and deserves.

As for the rest of it, I'm betting there will be coaches replaced but due to the family way the business is run neither Lewis or Brown was going to fire someone through the media.

Crazy press conference though. Lot's of we make all of our decisions together but Marvins no puppet kinda stuff.

Funniest moment? Marvin saying money had nothing to do with the prolonged contract negotions, then saying he wanted to make it clear he doesn't work for free.

Strangest moment? Marvin saying he doesn't understand where everyone got the idea that he was lobbying for more control.

Hard to get anything out of a presser with these two guys but the one thing I got out of it was they both agreed that they weren't playing the young players soon enough. Mikey mentioned getting the young players ready to play sooner. At least they've realized their mistakes with guys like Dunlap, Simpson and maybe even Coffman

He said the Bengals ranked 10th amongst NFL teams in games played by drafted players, and were 11th ranked in regards to players drafted still in the NFL. He then said the latter would be better if Pollack hadn't been injured, and Chris Perry, and the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Chris Henry, and Thurman, and then his voice slowly trailed off into a series of inaudible mumbles and bubbles.

Yeah, Mikey's stat includes Bengal draft picks playing for other teams I'm sure like Brooks, Briscoe and Big Toe

That's what it was. Since when is that a stat anyway? Must be a Brown family stat.lol.

Mikey also said the labor situation was a factor and that he didn't want to bring a new coach in with two weeks training camp. I think that was a bigger factor than he admitted to.

But cheer up Bengal fans. Sam Wyche narrowly held onto his job after the strike year and then they went to the Super Bowl.

If all coaches were coming back they'd have said so. I honestly don't think they'll all be back

Not now. In the beginning of the season. He didn't make the team. Cleared waivers somehow and sat on practice squad. 3rd rd pick.

You're absolutely right. Good point. Of course they think they're geniuses for slipping him through

Hardly. You're the one claiming a head coach with 8 years experience coaching this team lacks enough control to be held responsible for it's record.

That's true (to an extent) of any coach who doesn't have final say over rosters and staff.

Can I assume you missed the press conference? I ask because in an event where almost nothing was said the one thing both parties hammered home is how much control Lewis has, how rarely the two parties disagree, and how it's even rarer that Mike has to force his opinion upon Lewis.

I won't argue whether it was wise to bring Marvin back or not. I'm the sort that doesn't make rash changes until I've got a plan in place.

He's been here for 8 years, and it can be argued that the wheels came off the wagon in 2005. Plus, two out of the last three seasons have been unqualified disasters. Rash? If anything Lewis is being given too much rope ala Dave Shula's contract extension after going 3-13.

I have no problem whatsoever giving Marvin more control in this situation.

Well say how things play out, but after listening to the presser the only thing Marvin seems to have got was more time. It's even possible he caved on every demand, as others have claimed.

But if you were a DA and you're trying to figure out who went pass happy, who's your suspect - they offensive coordinator who loves the long ball, the owner who's in love with the passing game, or...the defensive guru? Come on. You're not getting an indictment, counsellor.

I've already gotten the indictment, hereby noted as document #2010-4-12. And again, it isn't a question of who loves what the most. Rather, it's who is best in a position to control the direction of a team, a coordinator or a head coach. Or if you prefer, a head coach or GM who doesn't gameplan or call plays.

Your objection is hereby denied, counsellor, on the grounds you're arguing evidence that has not been entered into the record. Court further finds that Marvin Lewis failed to do HIS job and knowingly and willingly gave his consent to a plan based in douchebaggery. Court also rules that as punishment he be sentenced to at least two more years service with Bengals. May god have mercy upon his soul.
