membengal Posted September 29, 2010 Author Report Posted September 29, 2010 My issue with your take on what I wrote and your summation of this thread is that I am "claiming" anything. I was simply putting out there what Lapham said as more information to sift through. And my comment about nuance stands...and was aimed at the board, not you in particular. If it's not possible to pass along information that without people assuming I am saying it, then I don't know what to do about the board. I like to think that there are those on here who are able to do that. You being one of them.Just the same, I'd expect you to understand that when I don't specify "LAPHAM" in my post, I am still contesting HIS point, since you were indeed the messenger.I am confused, TDB, I wasn't talking with you in that exchange and didn't think at any point you were ascribing Lap's take to me. Stripes Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 I am confused, TDB, I wasn't talking with you in that exchange and didn't think at any point you were ascribing Lap's take to me.I am glad for that. I just worry that you've built a defense against the board in general when most everyone else spoke from the same perspective as myself. We're all bound to disagree on certain observable happenings on the football field, but that the points made in the first post of this thread were Lapham's and not your own hasn't been contested. Everything's gravy. Quote
membengal Posted September 29, 2010 Author Report Posted September 29, 2010 No, and fact is I've been overly touchy for a long time now. Like four months. Ever since I lost my job.So my mood has been a bit sour and I lash out in odd ways from time to time. Like at my internet Bengals friends. So, for past sins in the past four months, to DC and TDB and anyone else, I am sorry. Except for you Gizzle. My annoyance with you was legit and unrelated to my general mood. And, for what it's worth, as of mid-morning today, I have a job. I start on Monday. And, happily for you all, it is not as RT for the Bengals. Although I am not certain you would be able to tell the difference in line play if it were, although you might wonder in an idle moment why Dennis Roland was one foot shorter than usual. Quote
Stripes Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 No worries at all, mem. Were you the RT last week for one certain play we may well have kicked a field goal before the half. I don't suspect you'd have been staring blankly into space while precious seconds ticked away, ala Roland. Quote
COB Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 And, for what it's worth, as of mid-morning today, I have a job. I start on Monday. Congratulations! Unemployment is not for the faint of heart. Quote

Unemployment is not for the faint of heart. Thanks COB. We weathered it okay, but I was at a point where something had to happen or I was going to be outfitting my family with barrels. Which was going to make me hella sad. Glad to be through this, and have a deep appreciation and empathy for anyone going through it. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 Happy to hear things working out for you and the family Mem !!!Wish the best for you all !!! Quote

TJJackson Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 for what it's worth, as of mid-morning today, I have a job. I start on Monday.W O O TIt is posts like this that remind me that no matter what various miseries I face, I have a good job, and I'll add all family members are healthy, and all else just seems small and insignificant after that, no matter how bad ANY other matters are.More good news, much MUCH less important than Mem's good news but happy for me - both my daughters soccer teams remain undefeated :-) Coach/Dad is very happy with this.
