Ratlifff is back!

I never minded Ratliff really as depth at DB. He definitely sucked returning punts, but that's of no consequence now. I was hoping for them to maybe take a stab at a DT somewhere since Harris and Smith got pushed around so much last night, but bringing Ratliff back is easy to understand.

At least it's not Ohalete.

And just when I was about to complain about Ratliff, I read the bolded part above.

What am I talking about, I didn't like Ratliff when he was here the first time and this doesn't make me any happier.

He instantly becomes the player on the team I hate the most.

The only good thing about Keiwan Ratliff is his name. That is a totally cool name.

Too bad he plays like someone named Herman Schnickledorfer.

Warm up the DeLorean, with Schnickledorfer and the hamburgler here it's back to the future for the Bengals.

Don't forget the Flux Capacitor.

Try fitting that name on the back of a Jersey.

Maybe he will be better this time. He was coached in Indy and Pitt maybe he learned something there.

I'd suspect if he had learned something there, he would still be there.

You can't coach speed and that was always Ratliff's problem. If they use him as an in-the-box safety he should be OK but for heaven's sake keep him out of coverage.

Yea, especially if there are two Schnickledorfers on the same team, and you have to use the first initial as well as the last name. It's problematic.

And supposing the two Schnickledorfers both have first names that begin with 'H'? Won't have any room left for the number.

At least it's not......Tom Nelson.

amen to that. nelson proved he has no business on this roster. he can't cover, can't tackle, he can't do anything that reassembles a decent football player. i just can't believe that we cut marvin white for this guy. i though just with what white did, in playing half a game with a torn up knee. that white at least earned a spot on this roster. no marv keeps those spots for these so called project guys. i can't think of any of these project players, that have ever made a contribution to this team. think about not 1. please don't say andrews because he was garbage at the position he played here.

Stacey Andrews. I will say him. So garbage that he walked into a massive FA contract. By any definition, he was a project player that absolutely panned out.

Define 'panned out'. Good for him...he got paid. And somewhere besides Cincy to boot. He lost his starting gig in Philly after week two and only played ten games for the Eagles this season. He didn't play a snap from weeks 11 to 16. Sounds like the same kind of bargain Cleveland got with Steinbach.

he was good enough that he went from a fourth round flier to warranting a large FA contract from someone. That is "panned out". Compared to say, Melvin Tuten, that is "hall of fame".

Other "projects" that have developed nicely for this team off the top of my head:

Fanene

Cook

Roland

Livings

Ndukwe

Bernard Scott

Gone but not forgotten for his contributions while here:

Housh
