ArmyBengal
It's still way early, but that looks pretty brutal at this point. Here's to hoping we sweep the division again ??

gregstephens
Wow--the only games you can like at this point just on the surface is Buffalo and Tampa.Just wow. AFC East, NO, SD and Indy? Plus our six?If major changes aren't forthcoming in the offseason, we're back to sub-.500 and possibly the basement in the division.Fire Brat!! Get another formidable WR!! Shore up that O-line!! Get a decent TE and FB!! Did I leave anything out?

This season's success aside, we really are a franchise in need of a total rebuild aren't we?
Stripes
Quite often when a team shoots from the bottom of the league to the playoffs, they return the next year and play more poorly. The Dolphins and Falcons of this season are the most recent examples. The tougher schedule is probably the primary reason, but it's still only variable by two games. Kazkal
Not seeing the Brutal 4 Tough Games but hardly brutal.. NFC East + AFC South would be much worse imo

The AFC North is always rough though, and potentially losing Zimmer would be worrisome.
HoosierCat
Wait a minute. Cincy just went 10-6 against a brutal schedule. They swept the division. They're in the playoffs, with one of the youngest teams in the league. Next year they get back guys like Odom, Rey, maybe Roy Williams if he re-ups. All their key players are tied up through at least next season, Tank being the one possible exception. They have a full compliment of draft picks. But we're already writing off next season?Look, in the AFCN, Cleveland isn't going to get well any time soon. Pitt's D cant hold up for four quarters, their o-line still blows and Big Jen will be in a wheelchair by 35 if he keeps taking that kind of pounding. Baltimore's D is a shadow of its former self and its O remains inconsistent. The AFC East? Buffalo is a train wreck, the Pats are slipping, and I think they can at least hang with the Jets and Fins. In the NFC South, Tampa is another train wreck, Carolina is going nowhere fast, Atlanta is hit-or-miss, and while NO may be good, they've got no place to go but down.San Diego? Didn't we just almost beat them a couple weeks ago? As for Indy, if you look at their games this year, they've been winning, but by the skin of their teeth. With Manning they're never out of it but they aren't the world beaters they were a few years ago. Before this season, I thought the Bengals were a year away. As it turned out, they've overachieved. Far from a down year, I think next season could be huge. But let's get past the Jets Saturday first, eh?

jjakq27
From the Silver Lining Department comes this. The five non-divisional road games are all east of the Mississippi with the only one out of our time zone being the closest at Indy. No west coast trips! COB
Don't freak out about that schedule. The way the NFL is now, teams that you'd think will be killer in a given year turn out weak, and teams you think you'll walk over end up good. Just too early to tellOne team I think will be a lot better is the Browns. I wish they'd fire their coach and start over, because they're on a bit of a roll right now and they're doing it the AFC North way - line play and running the ball. Not that they have a choice to throw, considering the flotsam they have at qb.

COB
If you are a bengals fan why would you want mangina to leave. He is horrible!!!!His team had every reason to quit at the end of the year, and they did the exact opposite. And the players came out and endorsed him to the new GM, and said he had filled the roster with unselfish, hungry guys who were all about the team. I watched their last couple games and they were playing much better. That's why I want them to fire him and start over. I want the Cleveland Redskins.PS - Change your name. cincyhokie
Saints, Patriots, Chargers, Colts...ouch. Gotta figure out how to score more than 14 points a game.Brat? You hear that, Brat?
HairOnFire
More points means more passing and more passing means more conventional blocking schemes. So right now, with the draft and free agency months away, I'd say Job One in 2010 is getting Sugar Teets locked down at ORT. The Roland Experiment has to end. Scottishbengal
I think overhauling the reciving corp and improving at tight end would be my priority.Looking forward to next season though, no-one there that we can't compete with (any given sunday etc) although I still think the divsional games will hold the key yet again. The dates for the schedule should be set in March/April right?
