PhunkE1
I wish I were as optimistic as the majority. We have been able to step up in big games but we haven't played well as a team since the Pitt. game. I think we barely lose this one.Vikes 17Bengals 13The big game is the following week @ SD. Could come down to that one for the #2 seed. Anyone have any idea if the SD game is being considered for the Flex Sunday night schedule? They moved the Vikes @ Cards to Sunday night this past week. The current game they have scheduled for Sunday night the week we play SD is MIN @ CAR. Kinda overkill on the Vikes. America loves 'dem some Brett Favre. Think I'm going to start a thread about this. Jet23
I can't wait to see the battle between Whitworth and Allen.I love Whit, but they better plan on double teaming or chipping Allen on every passing play or Carson will be creamed. Arizona made darn sure that he did not sniff Warner last night. Alexander needs to study that game, because they did a fantastic job. volcom69
Not sure i like the o-line in this game, Minn has 40 sacks with just there front 4 (something like that). So i hope they put some extra time in this week to prepare for them. They need to find there pass game again, they may be able to run the ball but please find the pass game again. Palmer needs to find a rythem again. With Peko out lets hope they tackle better, and i hope the Crocker injury dosnt hurt them so lets hope he plays. This game is going to be so tough, and they better stop the stupid penalties.

Scottishbengal
My son decided he didn't want to wear his CP jersey on Sunday. About 10 seconds after the pick, I ordered him to put it on. I believe the results speak for themselves. #9 Jersey on before the kickoff this week.....check.Ha Ha! My five-year-old son wears his Carson jersey during games too. I'm thrilled the Bengals are giving him some memories that don't include Dad rampaging drunkenly through the house after yet another loss. JK.Yeah. Dad's a happy drunk after a win.A Bengals win and the divisional title could mean there's a lot of happy dad's drunkenly rampaging through some mothers come Sunday night ! Arizona made darn sure that he did not sniff Warner last night. Alexander needs to study that game, because they did a fantastic job.My fear is the blitz pickup, where they've sucked all year. If I were the Vikings, I would do a lot of delayed blitzes at Allen's side. Wait until the TE/RB moves in to double Allen then nail the QB.They've been getting killed all year by blitzes, and sometimes even just a 4-rush, where they aren't reading who's coming.Oh, and as to the spread - it's Minny by 7, so whoever guessed 6 (Hokie?) was pretty good. membengal
I'm sure not as bullish on this as some on this thread are. At all. I worry about Jared Allen working over our tackles off the edge, aided by crowd noise making it hard to hear the snap count. That goes for both tackles, as both Roland and Whit have been worked of late.I also worry that the run game will be neutralized by the large d-tackles of Minny. Which puts this back on the pass game, where we have protection issues.Add in the loss of Peko in the middle and the ability to be as stout as usual against the run is also a concern.Put that all in a blender, and I don't see good things. They will need a big special teams play or two and some turnovers, I think, to win this one.
Pidge
Who's the best blocking back, is it Ced? If not we have to be careful not to neon sign the play coming in with substitutions.
DC_Bengals_Fan
By the way, Kaz, I take issue with you putting up a lady who's wearing Jared Allen's number. I demand she be replaced! That is why she's wearing it, right?
walzav29
My confidence is shaken. We're missing Peko, the passing game is looking ruff, they had to travel on a bus 45 minutes to practice yesterday, they are starting to accept his idea that they can just turn it on for good teams, Minn. was humiliated on National TV, and people are saying AP can't run. Don't like any of that, BUT Palmer is starting to get doubted and if they ignore him and just focus on the run they'll be in trouble. Plus Henderson being out will hurt against the run. Plus Henderson being out will hurt against the run.Even though Minny has gotten the media run all season, their schedule is laughable. They should have lost to the Ravens. Beat the mediocre 49ers on a miracle play. Got crushed by the Cardinals. Lost to the Steelers. Beat Lions twice. St.Louis. Seattle. Chicago twiceIf you look at their schedule, they havent really beat anyone. The best team they beat - Green Bay Packers , we beat fairly easily./>http://www.vikings.com/schedule/season-schedule.htmlIf you ask me, our body of work is much better than theirs. We have played against much tougher defenses. Not sure why everyone is all over the Vikings (well I do know - Favre) but they havent proven anything yet.I feel we have a very good chance at winning this game. As usual, we are the big underdog, but I would be worried if I were the Vikings.Bengals undefeated as underdog.
COB
With all the buffing Favre's sack is going to get this weekend, we'll be lucky if the media notices it is the Bengals the Vikes are playing. In that vein, yesterday on ESPN radio some talking head said the Vikes cracked a little last week, but we'll find out for sure if they were kind of a mirage, or if they're for real this weekend, because if they lose we'll know they really aren't that good. Never even mentioned who the Vikings were playing. Pretty funny.
HairOnFire
If my confidence is shaken it's due to the number of Bengal fans who refuse to believe in this team. No chance to win? Really?
101Airborne
They have my full confidence. We are playing a similar game to what the Steelers used to beat them. I'm certain this will be a true test for a pair of playoff bound teams. I don't like the talk of this game being a test of team legitimacy though. Both of these teams are absolutely legitimate regardless of the outcome. There are question marks about the Ravens and Steelers and other wild card contenders. There should be no questions about either of these two.
TJJackson
What I like is I am hearing the Minn offensive line is very shakey at the momentthat and our defensive strength gives us a very good shot at a win

Really?I believe in this team, I whole-heartedly believe we're a more talented team than the Vikings. So much so that I think that should we lose this game it will be because of our own errors and not because the Vikings were uber awesome led by Captain Fantastic. s**t, I sound like a Ravens fan. Also, you need to throw some threats in there to really sound like a Ravens fan. Exactly. Threaten to stab someone....while wearing a Ray Lewis jersey. As a threat it simply can't be ignored, and at worst it serves as a handy conversation starter. Furthermore, if you somehow find yourself wearing a Ray Lewis jersey....it's only fitting if everything you say is repeated three times. Wraith
Everytime I second guess this team they throw it back into my face, I doubted them when the played Green Bay at Green Bay, when they played the Steelers twice, when they played the Ravens at Baltimore and in every big game they had to win they have found a way to pull it off, Marvin has a very strong record v. the NFC in his career and the team is really good on the road so I am cautiously optimistic, or maybe I should stick with what seems to be working and predict they will lose.As for Minnesota, they were one of three SuperBowl picks I made at the start of the year because they are balanced, take away that balance and they can be beat, we need to shut down Peterson and let Favre throw us the game. Winfield should be out and their secondary is very suspect without him so that will be nice, the key to the passing game is shutting down their pass rush which seems to be difficult for us in the last several games and Minny has the toughest pass rush we have faced since the games against Pittsburgh. kingwilly
Bengals win in the dome 31-27.Big day from Benson and Carson. They will take Chad out of the offense and caldwell/coles will fill in. I also think we'll see some LJ this week, too.I also look for Quan to have a great day returning punts. Field position and Time of Possession win this game, by ways of keeping bret and peterson off the field.Right now, i think this D is superior to the Vikings O by a large margin.
