The Thursday game threat

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and girls, fans of all ages, This Thursday night, our Beloved Bengals will take on the Steelers. This game will have a great deal of, well nothing really. Is this the game where were start to win and take ourselves out of a top 3 or 4 pick? I don't think so. Def is really playing well, but the off can't move the ball. On the other hand, the Steelers took out our number one pick KR. Could be an interesting game.

Could be an interesting game.

If you consider slaughter interesting, so be it.

That's just the thing, games like this one are going to be interesting if for no other reason than seeing how much nut this team still has, and how much it's willing to fight for Marvin Lewis's job. And if you ask me those are the two biggest questions this team faces going forward.

Best, there's every possibility tonights nationally televised broadcast will be a three-hour long bashing of all things Chadwickian....which could be fun.

OK defense it's like this, you're going to be on the field for 38-40 minutes and you have to hold them to 10 points or less because that's all this offense is capable of generating with a backup QB, scrap heap RB, 3 healthy WR and half the OL out or in GuyCheck's place just sucking so bad it's like you're out.

Good luck with that.

Our defense held the Eagles to less than half their previous scoring average. And did so with an extra quarter thrown in. They held Jacksonville to 68 yards rushing. Against the Eagles they forced ten punts, and got four turnovers (not that our offense had the slightest idea what to do with the ball once the D handed it to them.)

I can't sit here and make an airtight case in support of the Bengals winning tonight, but I laugh when I hear Tirico and VanPelt give the Bengals absolutely no shot to win the game, as they did about half an hour ago. Not that anyone but their opponents have noticed, but the Bengals have been showing up for their games lately.

Well, I've noticed and I've commented on it several times. What we don't know is how Mike Brown feels about what he's seeing.

Exactly. And best, this is exactly how this team can change it's identity quickest.

The Bengals' 'D' absolutely has been showing up. And Big Ben hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire lately. The D can keep us in this game...if someone will do the right thing and punch Ward's ticket tonight. Problem is, as we saw last Sunday, the offense can't WIN a game for us. I predict another Chargers/Steelers fiasco from last Sunday, with us coming out on the short end of the stick.

Holding Westbrook to so little gives hope that Parker can have a poor night too. Maybe JJ is finally going to be a pro and play well for a 3rd game? Maybe they get a couple sacks, like last week? Damnit, there I go again. Getting optimistic about the Bengals. Sorry won't let that happen again.

The Bengals could win this game.

My sweety Hair could be nice

Billy could swear off boobies and alcohol for good

Spain could be voted "World's most honest man"

Agreen or JoeWrong could make an intelligent comment

Bengalsis could demand that Opie take a pay cut

Son-of-a-Genius could hire a competent GM

I feel strangely left out here. :(

I am just trying to figure out who will be the next coach. Paul Alexander, I guess. With Brown unrepentently continuing his awful ways. ML represented the franchise's best chance to change approach, and Brown has successfully beat back that threat. Good job Mike. It's like 2002 all over again. You're so awesome.

Jeebus.

Just writing the above practically makes you a child pornographer. I think I need a shower just from reading it.

I need an explanation from reading the child pornographer analogy. I can always stand a shower though.

I believe he was saying that is about as awful to contemplate/foist on an unsuspecting public as being a child pornographer.

And, I agree that it is pretty much metaphorically that bad. But that's where this is headed. Or maybe Jim Anderson. Hard to see anything but another succession of 3-13 seasons with an occasional 6-10 thrown in headed down the pike for this organization.

But, hey, we will always have that brief moment in time when Carson was dropping back against Pittsburgh and winding up to throw deep to try and hold near and dear in our memories before it all goes so horribly, horribly wrong.

Ok thanks, I see what he means. I see it more like Mike Brown as a pimp hawking a blowup doll as a Los Angeles 10.

Those were fun days, when games like tonight were something to look forward to.

2003-2006, Rest in Peace.

You lie there in the cemetary next to:

1985 - 1990

1981 - 1983

A few scattered years in the 70s.

f**k Mike Brown.
