  1. Meh, how many more sub-par Guards can you fit on a roster? Guy hasn't been able to break a starting lineup and I don't see Pollack developing anybody here. He can play RT and G, which is fine, but probably a minor upgrade to Carman and Volson if that. There's certainly a chance he could take-off this season, but I'd prefer some proven experience here in FA.
  2. I've yet to see anything on Apple tonight. Hoping for Flowers if he's affordable as well. I know they don't like older FA's and don't do large guaranteed contracts with FA's, but can't help to think they're planning on a lot of front-loaded extension money to hit this year and next. Burrow can go from $15-16m to $45m+ alone. They've got the 4th most cap space currently I believe. I don't know what else the lack of spending so far could mean, IDK.
  3. Dalton is somehow still getting paid well and starting games: ($8 mil guaranteed/2yrs for $10m, to be the bridge starter/vet for the Panthers). https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1635761577818308610?s=20 "Free-agent DT Larry Ogunjobi is headed back to the Steelers on a three-year, $28.75 million deal that will pay him $21.75 million in the first two years, per source." https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1635749114989142019?s=20
  4. Cowboys get Gilmore in trade with Colts, I saw where they recently signed Vander Esch to a 2 year deal today.
  5. Perine to Denver. Ugh. Barring a big signing, I guess they're keeping Mixon (why? I would've just paid Perine and cut Mixon, who is a weaker redundancy IMO). The Bengals' have plenty of cap space even with extensions, not sure I understand the lack of activity to get better right now. Let's hope it makes sense soon.
  6. Hope an upgrade to Bell is still possible and in the cards, at a lower cost. $13m guaranteed for Bell, yikes. The Bengals' don't like those deals.
  7. Not a good look for FA's or negotiating extensions: https://twitter.com/minakimes/status/1635056481161875456?s=20
  8. I think his performance takes him out of it. Crazy Mayer almost seems like a consolation after the SB and Combine.
  9. Not sure I'm onboard with Lewan, better options... no indication yet if the Bengals' are going to replace anyone on the line any ways. https://bengalswire.usatoday.com/2023/02/26/taylor-lewan-mentions-bengals-free-agency/
  10. Not at 28, "maybe" if he falls to the 2nd rd pick, which is not going to happen.
  11. Yes "upgrade/moves or priorities" would've sufficed.
  12. I can generally get onboard with this. OT and DE would be the 2 highest priorities in the first 3 rounds. If they sign someone instead then of course that probably changes obviously. Losing Hendrickson next year incrases the Edge/PR need. Thing is they really need an impact player there, and not just another Sample or even Hubbard, has to be someone who can consistently change plays and sack the QB more often.
  13. Gibbs would be a fire 2nd round pick possibility, just don't see him going that late. Same with Spears I guess. But IDK,.
  14. There's really no reason they can't upgrade Volson at LG if they're not targeting G/C relatively high in the draft. Even a reliable mediocre FA would be better, and let them battle it out. There are several FA options that are affordable who grade out much, much higher than Volson and Jonah and Collins. There really shouldn't be a higher priority than finding better protection for Burrow and run blockers IMO. If that includes a stud blocking TE so be it as well. It's also a reason I wish they'd ditch Mixon and get 2 backs who are worthwhile blockers, Volson's got a year of experience now and is fine as a depth guy who can still develop, but you don't count on him as a starter after last season if you're serious about winning a SB. True pass set grades:
  15. They could really use an Edge guy/pass rusher too, and I'd rank that up there with the needs at OT and TE.
  16. Yeah I'd lean heavily toward Mayer or no one at TE with the first pick. Would prefer an OT though.
  17. My argument in regards to the coaching is that none of their draft picks have panned-out or improved much here in a long, long time, they fail constantly with first round o-line picks, and their mid-round picks, and I can't think of a single one that is worth a damn across the board they've drafted since maybe Eric Steinbach, which is insane. Players change, coaching more or less stays the same (Pollack revolving door aside) as do the scouts. Of course they need better players, but they have to do whatever is necessary to draft and develop lineman properly at some point also.
  18. I'd like to get Pratt back. If they lose Mixon and Bates, not sure they can still afford all of: Perine, Apple, Pratt, Bell, Hurst and Taylor. But IDK, those are the players I'd prefer to keep. No idea if they are going to be reasonably affordable. No one behind Hurst, Awuzi will be rehabbing in the offseason and uncertain, no one of note behind Bell, or Pratt. I hope they aren't too cozy with that o-line as-is, Burrow can't be. So there's money and draft picks (and cuts) happening there most likely too.
  19. "Police mistake" (go figure) I still cut him but this doesn't make it easier, that said I'm glad it apparently didn't involve a gun or was not "serious?" (WTF knows)
  20. Now that he has a warrant out for Aggravated Menacing (threatening a woman with a gun) it's time to cut him. $10mm cap hit, 7 years in, averaging 3.9 YPC (league avg is 4.5), draft a RB in the 3rd or 4th and get the same production.
