Kirkland Story, interesting situation, could've been drafted higher last year until he found out he needed ankle surgery and withdrew his name. First team All-Pac 10 for 3 years and All-American honors. https://www.koin.com/sports/jesuit-alum-jaxson-kirkland-hoping-to-hear-name-called-in-nfl-draft/

Bengals are signing Washington G Jaxson Kirkland, per @TomPelissero

Round 6 (206): Andrei Iosivas, WR Princeton
ShulaSteakhouse replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
I assume they have a plan for the o-line, the IOL in particular, I hope. Completely neglected so far. This guy is really interesting though. Athletic as hell and smart, fast, same profile as the rest. -

Uh oh looks like a possible Higgins replacement. I know they lost Irwin, but who gets the boot if this guy makes the team? -

Bengals' showed quite a bit of interest in Kuntz reportedly. I like Whyle too quite a bit from UC. -

Need a TE. Is Kuntz still available? IF so jump on him please. -
Round 3 (95): Jordan Battle, S Alabama
ShulaSteakhouse replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
Should be interesting to see how well he plays and picks things up early on. Good enough to start for Bama, for 4 years, has to mean something if nothing else. -
Round 5 (163): Chase Brown, RB, Illinois
ShulaSteakhouse replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
Hmm, yeah, looks small on tape but is built like a truck. I really don't know if he's a Perine or Mixon replacement, or how they will use him (they did almost nothing with Evans). I suppose it's possible they cut Mixon after 6/1 and feel comfortable enough with Williams and Brown moving forward, along with whomever else they pick-up/sign. I'd be happy with that, I'm honestly tired of watching Mixon if nothing else, just tired of him like I was with Dalton. -
Round 5 (163): Chase Brown, RB, Illinois
ShulaSteakhouse replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
"Most underrated RB in College Football" says the title. Dunno about that, but 1600 yards and 10 TD's despite being fairly tiny is interesting. More shifty than run-away speed, but he can do both. Can push forward for yards in traffic at times which is unusual for his size. Maybe a teams guy who has a chance to bring back the Gio role. 5th round's a good spot to get a RB and ST'er. The Rams have like 2-3 of these types of guys on the roster it seems all the time (as far as Taylor's roster management influences are concerned), along with one big hammer back usually (i.e. Mixon, Gurley). I do wonder how they plan to use him, can't imagine he's much of a blocker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM2NHoMv8pY -

There's your RB -
Round 2 (60): DJ Turner, CB Michigan
ShulaSteakhouse replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
Apple replacement. A CB was going to happen in the top 3 rounds, Not issues here. Really makes me wonder what their plan is with the TE and the o-line though. But Turner should push CTB and be an option when Awuzie leaves. Can't argue with this one, good pick. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGtB8hgzOg8 -
Round 1 (28): Myles Murphy, DE Clemson
ShulaSteakhouse replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
He's fine, only 6.5 sacks last year as an outside Edge guy is hardly impressive, but fits the mold here like others said, and should produce like Hubbard and get to the QB a bit more than Hubbard does. They really needed depth on the Edge in the worst way and he was the best guy available. Hopefully OL in the 2nd. They literally have no one to play RT other than Adeniji at the moment, might become an issue. -
Round 1 (28): Myles Murphy, DE Clemson
ShulaSteakhouse replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
Pass rush was a huge need, just not real high on Murphy, but not sure there was a better option in the draft with his ceiling. Hoping for Kuntz and/or Whyle at TE later, and a legit RT in 2nd maybe. -
Is Branch gonna make it? Someone has to slip through.

I guess we were dreaming with some of these picks. At this rate Mayer will go soon too.
-
Noooo
-
Never entertained the thought. Didn't think he'd be a top 10 pick though.
-
Damn, Robinson to the Falcons at #8.
-
Cards trade-up for Paris, Levis dropping like a rock.
-
Poor Stroud going to Houston, yuck, but if Watson can succeed there, Stroud should be able to. So all the Levis talk was hogwash, go figure. Guess we'll see if he goes #3 (trade) and Carter/Anderson drops out of the top 3. Edit: Houston gonna pay 2 top 3 picks, lol, wow.

If Panthers' don't take Young they stupid

Great, a big KC boof fest, music video, celebrities, former players, typical NFL bullshit. Just announce the damn picks. Gets worse every year.

Report: Bengals Plan to PayJoe This Offseason
ShulaSteakhouse replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
No idea how they are going to afford Tee. He's going to want #1 money and the Bengals' likely won't pay him that. -
2023 Draft Talking Points
ShulaSteakhouse replied to TJJackson's topic in College Football/NFL Draft
None of the CB's at 28 excite me much, as far as value/impact goes, especially a 160 pound CB who will just get hurt a lot you'd think. Banks, if I recall, did a lot of non-tackling on run plays, lacks speed etc.., I'd just assume get guys like that at the end of round 2, and take whatever BPA falls at 28. But they never do that in round 1 it seems. I'm not big on either of the Clemson fellas, and I can't imagine who else might still be there that's got value, if it's not a IOL or Gibbs. Unless they're in love with someone, I'm guessing they're wide open to trade-down offers. -
2023 Draft Talking Points

If they picked him over anyone else at 28 I'd be ok with it I think. Imagine having this and Chase in your offense to throw to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rg7N0YDFKV0
