Holy Shit, that's brutal. Hope everyone is ok !!

So now your argument is that Sample is so dominating that defenses are covering him with 4 players? Couldn't the same be said for any player on the field? Meaning that the better matchup is going to get the ball most of the time? When has the skill of our TE's been so on point that they created the better matchup? Still not sure why you are so hell bent on this? I'm going to root for your boy regardless of how much I think he sucks.

Cool, I will be standing by waiting on Smith to do something other than fumble. Like I said, I will be cheering him on. Go Irv !!

No one is on a witch hunt. Merely pointing out that Smith isn't involved to this point, unless someone is arguing that 10 catches in 7 games is productive. No TD's, a fumble and 2 first downs. There was only one ball for Hurst and CJ as well, but they made an impact. Again, I will be cheering for Smith, but he has not made an impact. One ball is not a good argument. My argument about Sample isn't that there's a role for a blocking TE or not. Of course there is. The problem is the guy was a relative unknown that we just had to have in the second round. He wasn't a second round talent and his college production was next to zero until his senior year which was average at best. Hardly the guy you target in the 2nd round of the draft, not to mention other TE's still on the board that year. Worse is overlooking the other talent still on the board. The next 7 picks were WR's. 4 have been to the pro bowl.

Honestly, I was excited when they added Irv Smith. Both Burrow and Chase seemed really excited and he was at 100% health wise. I even gave a pass for the fact that Burrow's calf was bothering him far longer than most would admit to. However, once back on course and the Bengals started their current 3 game win streak, Smith has had 5 catches for 30 yards, no TD's and a fumble. Another aspect to consider is that while Hurst wasn't breaking receiving TD records, he was making plays for first downs. 26 of Hurst's 52 catches were for first downs. Smith has managed 2 first downs in his 10 catches. CJ's last season with us? Yep, 24 of 49 receptions went for first downs. It's not to say Burrow and Smith can't get things going from here on out, I'm just not placing my bet on it happening. I will rooting for it, cheering Smith on, but something tells me there will be more cussing than cheering. Side note: Drew Sample as a 2nd round pick still irritates the hell out of me. I should really let that go. Maybe a therapist could help me work that out. Hokie, where you at brother ??

I think Hurst and Uzomah both were known threats to make plays. Even if they weren’t involved they had to be accounted for. No one really cares what Smith or any other TE is doing for the most part. They are no threat to the defense. Just my take.

Let’s not forget him taking the job in Indy and then running back to New England. Clown
-
Happy to see the addition of Hudson. Not like he could be much worse.

I again heard an old saying that o-linemen are probably doing a good job when no one talks about them. Well speaking of someone no one talks about, who was the talk of the off season... How has Jonah Williams been doing at the RT spot? I don't think I've heard his name brought up at all. He's started every game and taken every offensive snap. He hasn't had a single penalty called against him. He's allowed 3 sacks, with an overall grade of 69.6 per PFF, although I have never really understood those grades to be honest. Has anyone really been paying attention to him to this point? Any other thoughts on his play? Just curious...

JT really loves some Joe Burrow.
-
Josh McDaniels sucks. How long until he's back in New England?
-
Shit, at this point they could try only putting 10 guys on the field with no TE and have better results. The old addition by subtraction thought process. Yes, I’m kidding…
-
Awesome play, awesome breakdown
-
Allow to me revive that fucker… That Sam LaPorta guy sure does look good for the Lions. Too bad no one mentioned the need to add that guy…
-
To hell with Lawson. His time has passed. Lou just needs to get Murphy more involved. I wouldn’t give into that crap from him, if that’s even his perspective. Murphy not getting more snaps when pass rush is a question, is problematic.

I don't want a tight, hard fought game. I want to see them hand the Bills their asses. I fucking hate those clowns. I don't want to see any mention of Damar Hamlin or any of the niceties that have been afforded them in the past. It's the past, Hamlin is playing again, and they need to focus on doing more of what they did against the 49er's. In other words, don't make their stay any more comfortable and welcoming than it has to be. Just go bury them.
-
1.5 at home? So basically not favored... No worries. If they play like they did against the 49er's, they are going to blast the Bills. Yes, I'm that confident. It's been a while since I felt that way.

In a very happy place this morning. For the various parts of the game I could voice my irritation about, despite the miscues, they had their most complete game of the season. Seeing Burrow absolutely dismantle the 49er's defense was a reminder of just how good he is when 100% and how much the AFC should not overlook a clicking Bengals team. How many years have we watched a well rested team come out of the bye and completely shit the bed? Not yesterday. I know they have rattled off three in a row, but this game had a different feel to it. Continue that into this coming Sunday against the Bills and they win that game as well. At that point, everyone in the media will be right back on their dick.
-
Despite the mistakes, the Bengals came out of a bye week and dominated a team most say are Super Bowl Contenders. Yeah, I like the direction they are heading. Fuck you Irv Smith.
-
Ok can Irv Smith fuck off yet? Is it ok to say it this week?
-
I'd be upset about Chase Brown being out, but something tells me we won't miss all his action on the bench. Heal up quick young man, you might be needed in 2025.
-
Yeah, not sure I would call any QB in the NFL a pushover, but to your point Hoosier, this is a situation that the Bengals need to take advantage of. Just bring consistent pressure and bottle up McCaffery.
-
Yeah, if he's available and they just HAVE to have a WR, give me Nabers in that scenario. My preference however, would be the 6'4 Coleman from Florida State, as he would fill that role that Higgins holds now. I've already been playing around with the ProFootballNetwork mock draft. It's just fun to pass the time here and there.
-
Agreed and wish him nothing but the best. Crazy to think he's spent the majority of his life either playing (19 years) or managing (26 years) baseball. He was drafted by the Braves before I was born in 1967. Not to mention he served for the Marine Reserves from 1969-1975, which I was not aware of. At 74 years old, he's more than earned his retirement !!
-
Not really a fan of a WR in the first, but anything is feasible depending on who is still on the board. Just wouldn’t do much for me. Coleman, Nabers and Egbuka would all be better options for me, but I assume they were off the board.
