No matter how many times I look at the draft and free agency, I come away with 3 certainties. However they want to approach it, they need a RT, DT and TE. I want those three positions in whatever order they so desire. I also won't care if they give up draft capital to get the guy they want earlier. Although, a trade down would never shock me from this team.

Well Brian Callahan took that same philosophy in his head coaching gig with the Titans and will be making all the calls, as opposed to whoever he hires as OC. Funny the things you learn and what becomes normal.

I keep forgetting Chris Evans is on this team. Sad, because he always seems to be solid to above average during the preseason and then is AWOL during the regular season. I liked the Battle pick when it was made and loved seeing him have a productive season as a rookie. If they are going to keep paying guys, they need to start expecting and getting more out of rookies.

Yeah, I just want to see something different from the same old, same old. When you have a roster full of talented players, play with it a bit. Throw a new wrinkle in there. Come up with something, anything, to keep the opposing defense on their toes. I don't have any issue whatsoever with Pitcher personally, but he doesn't give me the impression we are going to be seeing anything vastly different. Maybe that's a good thing. Yeah, I think they will have another decent season and if the pitching can hold out, maybe even get to the post season. Baseball is such a long season, I find it hard to stay entrenched in the every day stuff like I do with football. Going to the games is a different experience as well. Baseball is more social. I've sat out in the right field bleachers drinking beer and barely even paid attention to the game. Just sat and enjoyed a nice day chatting people up down on the river. Go Reds !!!

The Chargers managed to sign both Keenan Allen, 4 years 80 million and Mike Williams, 3 years 60 million. Then by some work of God, obviously, managed to get Herbert extended to the tune of 5 years 262.5 million. It can be done and the Bills just showed why it should be done. Teams will take away your best guy and you still have to find a way to beat them. Not saying it can’t be done without Higgins, but I’d rather they didn’t. Pay both him and Chase. Draft a new RT, new TE, and new DT and get them fucking ready !!!

Nice to see someone comment about Newton. Great work up on Joe’s part with the game tape. Loved the Kancey comp, as I mentioned earlier that he was one of my favorites last year. Him with two above average DE’s and that’s a problem for opposing offfenses. Loved his thoughts on Higgins and makes me think about not only how they manage to keep him, but get a truly dynamic TE for Burrow. I like the Mixon, Brown combo, but think they need to get another guy to add in there as well. Thanks for sharing Hoosier !!

I agree with him... it's a talented tackle class. If Newton were there in the first, I would bet we could still find a starting RT in the 2nd. I would prefer Newton in that scenario as well. I wanted Kancey last year coming out of Pitt as well and that didn't happen. He went at pick #19. Maybe this year will be different.

Yeah, I won't care about a DT or OT specifically going in either round as long as we get them early. Protect Burrow and get some pressure on the opposing QB. Bengals were in the bottom 3rd of the league with sacks produced and they need to get home more. I know that stat isn't a stand alone regarding the pressure that can also be created without getting home. However, getting home clearly is something you would rather see than simple pressure. All but 3 teams in the top 10 made the playoffs this year. One was a game away and another lost their starting QB.

Ok awake at 3:10am for no damn good reason, so of course you do a mock draft. Got a trade in on this one. I trade #18 overall for #27 and #66. #27. Jer’zahn Newton, DT #49. Jordan Morgan, RT #66. TJ Tampa, CB #80. Cade Stover, TE #111. Braelon Allen, RB I can’t see Newton falling that far, but that’s a steal right there. First two picks address needs with best player available, which is dumb luck. With the extra pick from the trade, we bring in some CB help. Stover’s a clutch pass catcher that can make people miss. And then there’s Allen. We need to replace some RB depth and this dude is BIG. I could see him carving out some snaps due to his size and ability. Then again, this might suck. What do I know ??

Just saw where Pitcher is also taking interviews with both the Patriots and Raiders. If he leaves as well, I go back to my original thought of going after Joe Brady from the Bills.

Yep congrats to him. Not sure they really have a QB with Tannenhill and/or Levis, so that will be a big task to work through. They have #7 overall so they have options to help build the team he wants.

If they were going to trade Tee, it should have happened THIS year before the trade deadline. Had Burrow gotten hurt earlier, I think they might have considered it. Dont get me wrong, I want him to stay, but if they tag him, he’s gone in 2025. They have historically not worked long term deals or manage a tag and trade.
