Fuatanu is going to be a guard in the NFL. I wanted no part of him. -
Round 2 (49): Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan

Well depending on which list people want to say is most accurate for "Best Player Remaining", about 20 of the next top 25 are defensive guys. I agree with you on that one Hoosier !! -
Round 2 (49): Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan

If Powers-Johnson were to somehow fall, I would flip the fuck out. Couldn't possibly pass on him. The chances of that happening are pretty slim I would think. Newton in the 2nd would be a steal as well. -
I saw that last night as well and can't for the life of me figure out what they are doing here. Chase is just waiting and with each passing day, his contract just keeps rising and rising in dollars for the Bengals. Makes me wonder if they have the coin for another large guaranteed amount and exactly the reason Higgins won't be here next year (sadly).

And this makes me very happy. Still can't figure out for the life of me why the Falcons draft Penix when they just guaranteed Cousins $90 million on his FA deal. -
Round 1 (18): Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia

Hearing Zac and Pitcher speak last night, it sounds like they did due diligence with each of the top rated OT's in the class and really liked how Mims is going to fit on the team and in the o-line room. I think it speaks a lot to Zac and I'm willing to not knock this, because he has added solid players to this roster that fit what they are doing and the culture he has built here. It also sounds like they were surprised to get him at #18, which I would guess means they had him ranked fairly high regardless. He addressed the other really good defensive players on the board and said that Duke Tobin and the team do a great job of setting their draft board and don't scramble things around at the last minute. Again, it sounds to me like they had Mims rated really high and knew he would be a good fit. They clearly didn't see things in regards to ranking these players the same way fans and the media did. This shouldn't be a surprise and why I have mentioned it many times. If there's reason to be concerned about this pick for me, it's less with Mims and more with Pollack. -
Round 2 (49): Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan

Here's another question I can't help but ponder, with the Bengals needing a DT and the player once thought to be a target of the team. Do they take a chance on T'Vondre Sweat? Maybe they have him off their board, maybe they still want him but no earlier than the 3rd? I think it's been mentioned before that he is a known partier, but no one is denying his talent. Outland trophy winner as the top d-lineman in the country, Big 12 defensive player of the year, and unanimous All-American. How much of a risk is too much of a risk when considering he plays a position of need? Neither here nor there for me, he's still just really intriguing to me. Just keep the twinkies away from that dude. -

With 9 picks remaining and no way there is room for all these guys, this is the day I would like to see the Bengals get aggressive and move up to get the guy they really think will make an impact for the team, whether this year or next. The talent still on the board is pretty staggering to me. I think there are at least 8 guys that could have easily gone in round one still available. As always, it depends on who is still on the board, but Keon Coleman wouldn't bother me in the least right here. Adding him as a big slot receiver this year with Chase and Higgins would create some real issues for opposing defenses. He doesn't have to be the pick though, there are plenty I would be really happy with. -

Agree with that thought as well. I get the concern and am not overlooking the injuries, but this was a solid pick. -

OT's go - Alt, Latham, Fashanu, and Fuaga. I made the comment before about it's not about whether we think the next OT is the 5th, 6th or whatever ranked OT, but whether the Bengals had them ranked that way. With Latu, Murphy and Turner all going off the board at 15-17, the Bengals options were dwindling. So then you go to the next question I always like to ask... Who else was on the board? Verse and Fautanu were the next two to go and I didn't really think much of either of them for our team. The next three were interesting in seeing Mitchell, Thomas and Arnold all come off the board. I never thought they would really go CB in the first round when considering the roster, which left Thomas, who I had mentioned previously. When they went on the clock, I guessed they were between Mims and Thomas, with Mims, being the one they probably had ranked higher and filled a need. Considering all that, I still love the pick. I wouldn't have minded Thomas in that spot, but really like Mims and again, there's no expectation for him to come in and start day one. Get him in the program, get stronger, learn and get ready. Not a fan of grades right away, but all things considered, this is an A- to me. Solid A without previous injury concerns. -

No complaints at all. He’s not expected to start and can learn while sitting behind Brown. Any injury concerns can be addressed. -

Ok, last minute guess… They trade down and take: Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma Yeah, I can’t wait until they are on the clock !! -

Draft Day equals don’t listen to anything being said about what’s going to happen in the draft tonight. The ONLY certainty is Caleb Williams going #1. Everything else after that is a complete crapshoot… -
Just for perspective, Chris Jones was 28 when he took that approach.
-
Yep, his age isn’t helping his argument.
-
Additionally…. IT’S DRAFT DAY BITCHES !!! Christmas in April !!!
-
I have no issue with him wanting to get paid more. I agree wholeheartedly that he deserves it. However, the timing and going public the way his agent did is a straight up bitch move. That doesn’t mean I don’t want him to stay for as long as he’s productive, but it doesn’t take away the fact this approach is pathetic. Two opposing things can be true at the same time. I can love Trey, while thinking this is bullshit.
-
Fuck Trey too... That's a bitch move to make the day before the draft. Just go fuck off.
-
No to public funding. We are already taxed too much. I will simply watch other teams on Sunday. I will stand willingly and smile as I wave goodbye...
-
ONE MORE DAY !! I’ve been in DC this week but my flight should allow enough time for me to get home by start time !! Hell yeah !!
-
Never mind... the NFL isn't going to make a decision this week. UGH
-
If either of those two drop to us at #18, I would be really hesitant. One, I don't like Latu's medicals, although he's a great players and two, I don't like Verse. Couple that with taking a DE in the first last year and I'm not in favor. Maybe a DE later on, but not in the first. Just me, but I understand the thought if they decide to do that.
-
What am I currently rooting for? I read there's a possibility that due to the Falcons tampering with Cousins, the NFL may drop them from #8 to the bottom of the first. That would move all teams after their original pick up one spot, which would obviously put us at #17. One less team picking ahead of us can only be viewed as a positive. Go NFL !!!
