So Bengals news is about as bright as the Cincinnati weather during the winter. Overcast and shitty. Fuck you Winter
-
Ok, so I missed it, but have seen it all over YouTube. Zac and Burrow getting into a discussion on the sideline where the two obviously didn't see things the same way. I know what the videos are saying and you can see Joe saying "F That", but no real context. Zac of course was like, "It was just a conversation". Honestly, there's not much of this coaching staff I would retain. Whatever Zac has built during his time here, it has ran out of steam. It doesn't seem like any of these players are buying into whatever is being offered up.

I'm torn either way I look at the Bengals season at this point. On one hand, I don't want to see them further screwing up a potential top 10 draft slot. On the other hand, I don't know that I have faith in how they would use that selection anyway. If there are no changes coming to the coaching staff (See both Lou and Frank getting shit canned) I don't think the draft pick matters all that much. While I'm not all geeked up in thinking they can make the playoffs, there is still a shot. I think the first step comes this Thursday. If the Chargers beat the Broncos, I'm still holding out slim hope. If the Broncos win, I have next to no faith in the path to the offseason being reasonable. There will still be a path, but there would be at least 2-3 more miracles needed with that being the case. What if it does come down to the last week of the season? The Bengals will need to beat the Steelers and the Broncos would need to lose to the Chiefs if all planets align. If I'm the Chiefs, I'm resting all of my starters and happily take the loss, as the Bengals offense is more scary than most in the AFC. They already have a two game lead for the #1 seed. Which offense would you rather face?

First, I had no doubt this was going to be a win for them today, so not even a bit surprised by any of it. Well, except the fact that Battle is a complete dumbass. I spelled out the course for the Bengals to get to the post season in the Browns thread if anyone cares. Oh yeah, Will Levis sucks fat donkey balls. The Titans need to move on from him.
-
Yes, pretty much still need a miracle. To start, we have to win out. In order to jump the Broncos, we need them to lose all of their last 3. We would win the tie breaker due to head to head with them coming up. In order to jump the Chargers, we need them to lose all of their last 3 as well. If we finish in a tie with them, they win the tie breaker. Since the Broncos and Chargers play each other Thursday, as Hoosier mentioned, we will be limited to one path or the other. The Broncos still have: Chargers, Bengals and Chiefs The Chargers still have: Broncos, Patriots and Raiders With that being the case, I'm a Chargers fan come this Thursday. We then beat them the next week and hope the Chiefs do the same the last week of the season. Oh yeah, someone in there, we need both the Colts and Dolphins to each lose one more game in their last 3 games. The Colts still have: Titans, Giants and Jaguars The Dolphins still have: 49er's, Browns and Jets

Round 5 (163): Chase Brown, RB, Illinois
ArmyBengal replied to HoosierCat's topic in Cincinnati Bengals
Save money, cut Zack Moss and draft a new running back in the 3rd or 4th, depending on who is there. I am really happy to see Chase Brown doing so well. Really good dude you just want to root for. Not sure about coaches thoughts on "This was always the intent" however. I recall at the start of camps, him catching grief for not being able to catch the ball out of the backfield. I won't complain about it however. He's made good on his opportunities. -
Here's Spotrac's take on a new Higgins deal that is interesting to look at. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/market-value/_/id/47628/tee-higgins Scroll down to the 4 comparisons they have used of Godwin, McLaurin, Moore and Pittman. Tee is worse than all of them in damn near every statistical category. However he leads them all in receiving TD's per game and overall rating. The games played per year is damning to Tee. If we could get him back at less than $20 million per year, which I never gave thought to, that's a steal in my book. If he's asking for top of the market, say good bye. As much as I like Tee, he's not worth close to what JaMarr is going to get.

Hookers and blow TJ. Hookers and blow !!

It's all I hear about on TV and the radio. I think I'm good. Minus that, my take away is that his super hot SI model girlfriend isn't the smartest. Oh and his security guard should have already been fired. I think he must have been recommended by Lou.
-
So for those holding out hope, here's who the Bengals should be rooting for this week. Recap: The Ravens, Chargers and Broncos are all 8-5 and are the #5-7 seeds. They are playing the Giants, Buccaneers, and Colts respectively. The Colts and Dolphins are both 6-7 in the #8-9 seeds ahead of us. They are playing the Broncos and Texans respectively. Of course the Bengals need to beat the Titans, which I expect. Make of that what you will.

Shame. Ive made enough comments about how bad that hurts this team when first rounders fail. Its hurts all teams but this one it seems to hit harder due to building through the draft.
-
The insanity is that his girlfriend and the "security guard" were at the house. Not sure what the two of them were doing. However, once the girlfriend realized what was happening, she quickly made the call to the most appropriate person. No, not 911 or the police, her mom of course. I'm not sure if her mom is a trained assassin, but it seemed like an odd call. If I'm Joe Burrow (see I'm not) I would fire the security guard and ditch the super smart girl friend. Not like there's not a plethora of amazingly beautiful gold digging whores just waiting for an opportunity to spend some of his $258 million. I would take a guess one would have to be smarter than silly putty.
-
Yeah they really fucked that one up. No reason for Chase to even be polite about it when negotiating either. I would grate their asses over the coals.
-
Yep win incoming for sure.

The old saying “Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good” comes to fruition. Waiting to hear Burrow’s knee injury is season ending since it appeared to be ok. Then, Browning leads the team in running the table the rest of they way, missing the playoffs and screwing them out of a top 15 pick. Talk about most Bengals shit ever !!
-
Wow what was that?

So here's a question that really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, because I don't think Zac gets fired. What if he did? That's one to ponder. Without trying to come up with the probable no name coach they would hire, WHO WOULD YOU WANT to coach the Bengals next year? The reason I ask is, because we actually have a franchise QB and a top end offense. I have heard plenty of times through our years of being fans how coaches would love to coach in a place with an established elite franchise QB. Well, I think that would make the Bengals an attractive coaching option for coaches that might not have given thought to coaching here before Burrow. I don't really have any thoughts myself, but have heard Vrabel's name dropped in a couple of places and I like that he's a defensive minded coach. He would also probably turn over offensive play calling to the coordinator, which would make me happy. Thoughts?

Update for those foolish enough to think we still realistically have a shot. With our Bengals sitting at 4-8 and possibly getting to 5-8, this is where we stand. The Ravens, Chargers and Broncos are the #5-7 seeds at the moment, each with the same 8-5 record. Both the Colts and the Dolphins have a 6-7 record in the #8th and 9th spots respectively. So a win tonight still requires them to close the 3 game gap with have the 5-7 seeds and overcome the two after them. No small task by any stretch considering there are only 4 games remaining after tonight's. Just finish poorly enough to get one of the elite pass rushers in the draft. Am I asking for too much?
-
Dude put up nearly 52 fantasy points for me yesterday. Nacua got me nearly 36 and I picked up Charbonnet who netted nearly 35. Those three handled this week by themselves and I have Chase playing tonight. Closing in on a 200 point week. Anyway...
-
Ok bear with me... I really am ok if they lose the rest of the games. However, I want that to happen while Burrow and Chase continue to set the league on fire. You know, what's happened to this point of the season. They go off, put up 30+ points and continue to take the "L". I've also been playing around with mock drafts and they are kind of interesting. Nothing specific, but fun things to consider while simultaneously watching the abortion that is the 2024 Bengals.
