Agree with the thought I wish they would have expanded and at least had the conversation, while simultaneously agreeing that Al Golden would be a good selection. In total honesty, I went from hating the idea of Eberflus to being very curious in seeing what the outcome of the interview would bring once you take a look at his time as a coordinator. Thing is, they never had the conversation. I was disappointed with the lack of conversation. Maybe Al Golden has simply always been who they wanted. Who knows? I've also worked for plenty of people through my life and once I got into leadership positions, I took what I liked from them all and tried to continue that example. The things I didn't care for, I leave out. I'm sure Golden is no different. There are things he learned from Anarumo he liked and things he didn't. My thing is, he's had success and has been a large reason why Notre Dame is playing in the CFP National Championship Game, leading one of the top college defenses in the country. I can think of many others I would HATE seeing coming here to take over the defense.

I really don't much about Graham. He's kind of an unknown to me and probably what's keeping me from being all geeked up about him. I took a look at his coaching background and it's interesting. From 2009-2015 Either New England's coaching/defensive assistant, linebacker's coach x2, or D-line coach, but never a DC while there. In that time span, the Patriots always won the AFC East. Apparently they had a pretty good QB. 2016-2017 The Giants D-line coach. The Giants were a combined 14-18 and went to the playoffs once. 2018- he was the Packers linebacker's coach and run game coordinator. Green Bay finished 6-9. 2019- This was his first DC job with the Dolphins. Miami finished 5-11 that season. 2020-2021 Back with he Giants as the asst. head coach and DC. They went a combined 10-23 in that time. 2022-Present The DC for the Raiders. Never a winning season going a combined 18-33. Ok, he's more of known to me now. THAT'S GOING TO BE A NO.

I always like Erickson. Wasn't even aware he was still playing.

Yeah, when you join a team entering the playoffs and two weeks in you complain about your role to the team captains and are visibly upset, you might want to see someone about the issues in your two cent head. Those other guys have been grinding with the team since training camp and here you come, fresh off of getting released because you have head issues, and want to be the focus of the offense? Oh, and these complaints are coming after winning your playoff game? Yeah, you got it all fucked up. Buh Bye...

I don't know why the Rams are so NOT intriguing to me. I don't dislike the Rams, don't dislike their fans or anything else to be honest. I think it's maybe that they've seemingly flown below the radar for me and seem disinteresting. Almost like , "The Rams are in the playoffs" ?? Seriously though, I have no idea. It's just a game I will watch highlights from. Good luck to both teams...

Rooting for the Texans in that one, despite thinking they take the L. Wouldn't be upset with either the Commanders or Lions there honestly. Don't really have a dog in the fight. Rams and Eagles? Who cares? Bills and Ravens? I guess the Bills. I hope it snows it's ass off. Should be a good game to watch.

Since the thoughts of Eberflus seems to be gathering steam and my noted softening on the idea, I did some more diving into him. The large majority of Bears fans seem to think he would be a good - great DC and he will probably do well here since our defense was so horrendous. Some even mentioning what he should be able to do with the defense here should be enough to put this team right back in contention. He was noted to be well versed in his defensive schemes and had a unique ability to ensure the players understood what they were suppose to be doing within the scheme. Said the players would love his style and his reputation as a defensive mind is notable. A teacher and leader. His defenses in Indy finished in the top 10 in run stopping and takeaways all four of his seasons and were some of the least penalized. Ok, warming up now. The stink of his head coaching time is hard to get past.

Agree in that I’m pulling for the Texans. That defense stepped up big, but so don’t think they yet have the makeup to really push a team like the Bills or Chiefs. The game against the Ravens is going to be a nail biter and if the D falters, could be a long day. Yes, rooting for Mixon as well. Ravens, Chiefs and Bills ?? I guess I would have to go Bills if forced to pick, but that might as well be the Ravens, Steelers and Browns…

Good for Vrabel? I don’t think NE is a great place to be though and can’t say as I think Drake Maye is the future franchise QB they were hoping for. Whatever though…

Pittsburgh and Denver both looked like they had no business in the playoffs.
-
Maybe Eberflus would be a better DC than head coach. I’m at least open to considering that. However, he completely lost that locker room, made poor decisions and was equal to the mess the Chicago front office was/is. If getting back to his comfort zone is a positive, I can get that, but they better be sure. They simply cannot afford to fuck up this decision.

It's not that Pittsburgh is bad, it's that their fans are abysmal to watch a game around. Same in Cleveland. I didn't have a bad experience in Baltimore, but have heard some have. Buffalo still ranks at the top for me. Shit bag city, shit bag fans. That's being nice.

Ok, the defense still sucked WITH Trey. What will they be without him? He's literally had more sacks than ALL of the other D-linemen put together. There were 1.5 sacks produced by the secondary. It worries me to think about what losing that kind of production and the impact of those sacks means for a defense that was worse than atrocious the entire season. I don't think there is enough improvement on the part of those on the roster, enough money for free agents or enough experience in draft picks to replicate 17.5 sacks. If by looking at the current roster, that will take 8 MORE players. However, that also includes Carter who no longer plays for the Bengals and Hubbard who probably won't be in 2025. So call that 10 players. Oh wait, BJ Hill's a free agent as well. Oops, so is Joseph Ossai. This is getting worse. Now, is there a top end DE out there to be had that can bring sacks? Sure, but weren't we told the same thing about Myles Murphy and his ability to get home? Lets take a look at how many sacks he had in 2024. Looking, looking.... oh there it is ZERO. I love Tee and want him back, but if I'm put in a position to bring back one or the other, give me Trey. I will wish Tee the best, root for him when he doesn't play us and watch him go.

There are a few I like there, but no "be all end all" type guys. If you aren’t watching, one of the RB’s I love in the draft is having a night tonight. Penn State’s Nick Singleton. EDIT: He finished the game with 84 yards rushing (5.6 ypc) and 3 TD's, with 2 receptions for 33 total yards. I was seeing him in the 3rd round and getting him there would be a steal for any team. While I can think of other ways to improve this team, adding another big, strong, fast RB to pair with Chase Brown is ok by me.

Agree

I don’t want Trey to go anywhere. Who’s going to get to the QB ?? There is literally no one else applying much pass rush outside of him. The secondary would be further scathed if the opposing QB has all day to pick them apart.
-
I know he’s here for 2025 and he’s not getting younger but I’d really like to see a couple more seasons with T-Rex !!

Hadn't heard that one about Joe Morgan. That's pretty incredible for an umpire to admit that. Also speaks very highly of the skill of Joe. So much fun watching those teams play ball. Great memories !!
