  1. Then there's also the talk about how much the state may or may not be willing to chip in on costs for the two cities as well. Again, don't care, but that conversation has been out there for a little bit since renovation conversations started. Yeah, keeping it under 2 billion will be a struggle IMO. I also don't know how long the builders, city, team, etc expected PayCor to last when it was planned, but Riverfront was almost 30. Seeing as how we are 6 years out from there, maybe that's the best plan. Do minor things to keep Paycor up, while planning out. Who knows? I do like the speculation.
  2. I'm just talking from the what if's perspective, not what I think has a chance in hell of happening. "IF" they wanted to take the approach of of building a new domed stadium (they won't) I'm good with that. "IF" they wanted to work on connecting that with a restructured downtown (they won't) I'm good with that. "IF" they wanted to work public funding into the above thoughts (THEY WOULD) I'm good with that as well. If nothing comes of it, I couldn't care less. Again, I'm one of the ones who likes going to football games in the elements. If it's a matter of arguing the point, I will leave that to others here more interested than I.
  3. I think it was mentioned before, but I agree with the thought of it being scaled back considering it's Cincinnati. I love Cincinnati, but we are not an Atlanta or Los Angles. We don't need those massive mega structures. Keep it mid west feeling, similar to the likes of Lucas Oil Stadium, which cost $720 million in 2008. Granted that number is going to be higher in 2024, but we don't need massive and glamourous. Give me functional and multi-use.
  4. All I keep hearing about is Chubb's return. Color me unconcerned with a guy playing his first game in forever after an absolutely gruesome injury. I simply don't expect him to be the player he once was, sadly. That being said, he's the brightest story with that team right now, so I get it. Anything to distract from the abortion of a football organization the Browns are.
  5. As much as I hate the idea of taxpayers funding large portions, this is something I could get behind when considering linking in more of the city and the economic impact it would bring. Tear down Paycor and just start fresh. Something about potential problems when adding something to a structure that wasn't originally built for that purpose that just makes me question that approach. Obviously, I'm not some structural engineer, so I could be way off there. Also, I think about what the Bears stadium looked like when trying to do an update last time. The whole spaceship landing on the old stadium always looked stupid to me and now they too are looking at something brand new.
  6. Remember when the Bengals traded first rounder Billy Price for some 3rd round DT? Yeah, this is what was brought back to the defense that had been missing. Stay healthy BJ !!
  7. I agree with that as well. Start somewhere though. The extra revenue from one will help build the others. Typically when that type of investment is made you see that city hosting a Super Bowl. They are years scheduled out already so that would allow time for the other improvements to take place sooner. My thought is it has to start somewhere. It doesn’t have to be the stadium but since that is something that has to be addressed, it sounds just as good as any other.
  8. Cleveland's problem isn't their defense or their o-line by any stretch. They have actually done a good job building that roster in my opinion. It's their never ending quest to find a QB worth a shit. Watson is clearly not the QB he was in Houston, minus the happy endings. While he might play well enough to win a game here and there, he has been absolute garbage this year. The Brown just won't move on because of how much they are paying him. The Bengals just haven't been able to get them off their back.
  9. Lucas Oil Stadium is incredible. The ability to open the side wall of the stadium to view the city is absolutely brilliant. We were up there for the Colts Texans game earlier in the season. Always a great time. I was back down in Houston and NRG is the same way. The Raiders new stadium in Vegas is always really cool to see. That being said, I like football in the elements as well. You just know going into it that you can't do the same things a dome affords you opportunity to do. For how much money they want from the public these days, having something which has the ability to bring in more revenue throughout the year is ideal. Concerts, other sporting events, the draft, so on and so on. A dome is the smart thing.
  10. I just enjoying thinking about the Bengals trading for any player that would represent an upgrade. All while knowing there isn't a chance in hell that any of this comes to fruition. I'll tell you what though, if they lose a couple more stupid games, they may as well see what they can get for Higgins this coming year, as opposed to a 3rd round comp in 2026.
  11. I have seen the Bengals be mentioned in a couple places about a potential trading partner for Hasson Reddick from the Jets. No real truth to the thought, just speculation. I can't say as I would mind seeing them make a swing to add some additional pass rush to this defense. Myles Murphy has contributed ZERO to this defense at this point and as much as I hate to say it, I don't think Hubbard has much left. He has a role, but apparently it isn't getting to the QB.
  12. Yeah I have no idea about this game. Dare I say a win ??
  13. Agree but my main take away is that having our projected starting DT’s in Rankins and Hill made a big impact overall. No matter what else was going on with the defense, those two were visibly active up front. It also appeared that Anarumo was switching things up with how they were bringing pressure last night. Just hoping it continues.
  14. There might not be another song in the history of music that I hate more than that one. It’s the kind of song killing sprees are born from.
  15. No, no Geno jersey. Last week’s game landed that back on the hanger. I didn’t wear any Bengals gear. When they can put more than a single win together I might go back to that. In the meantime, I will take the win and hope Rankins and Hill stay healthy because they made a difference last night.
  16. It was nice having competent DT’s in the game tonight. It’s a win and you just keep your head up. Get ready for next week.
  17. Pull your heads out of your ass and don’t go fucking up yet another game you should win. Jesus please keep the Bengals from stepping on their dicks tonight in prime time. AMEN…
  18. This. Undeniably this. The offense goes and puts up mad points and they can’t stop anyone. The fact this team isn’t 4-1 falls squarely on the shoulders of the defense. I don’t give a shit about players only, closed doors meetings. Who fucking cares? Is that suppose to mean something? If it is, then that bullshit should produce results on the field. If it doesn’t then it’s nothing more than verbal masterbation and I’m not buying that shit from a team that should be killing it.
  19. Sounds really insightful on the part of the Athletic…
  20. And if not, the 2025 draft thread starts now.
  21. I have no reason whatsoever to feel this way and will probably be let down again, but does anyone else feel like this team is due to just kick the living shit out of someone? Maybe it’s my lack of sleep lately…
  22. Well credit to Mike Hilton stepping up and addressing what’s going on with the defense. Granted he simply said what we already knew, but at least it’s not Burrow being obviously frustrated when having to discuss the team. ”We’ve been playing like shit, for real”.
  23. Easy guys… Geeesh, what happened to all the good vibes from training camp? I’ll tell you what, let’s talk about something really important that has seemingly gotten lost in all this losing. Burrow’s hair. I mean it’s really growing out well. Almost an early 2000’s nu-metal frosted tips look to it. I can only imagine what he’s going to be wearing in the coming weeks while walking into the stadium to go with that hair style.
  24. We don't have much of anything on that side of the ball.
  25. I had to look up flouncing, so I probably wouldn't be a good fit there.
