  1. The current rule also states that if the commissioner chooses to terminate the game due to emergency conditions, he's empowered to do that. The league did not make a new rule which allowed for the cancelation of the Bengals Bills game, the commissioner acted within the rule. Now all the other rules should follow in suit. Again, that's not what's happening here. They are wanting to create a new rule a week prior to playoffs. Katie's point is that the time to change any rule that may be subject to review, is during the offseason. I agree wholeheartedly simply because that's the correct approach. Never before has this happened, so you live and die with what exists. If the owners and league want to review what happens when someone almost dies on the field THEN, have at it. No concerns on my part. JUST NOT NOW. I'm all in on NO coin tosses and no neutral fields. Let the winning percentage determine finality and move on. I understand that is an arguable take, but it's mine.
  2. How great is that ?? Can't wait to hear him speak to people.
  3. The rules are in place. If the Bengals finish with the better win percentage, per those rules, they are the division champs and get the home field advantage. Don't like the rules ?? Great, I won't argue. However, they should be changed in the offseason, as they have been for the history of the league. You don't adhoc shit simply because, well, you feel bad for another team and wah wah wah, coin toss... It would be no different if we were on the outside looking in. Deal with the rules as they stand. Those rules were in place at the start of the season and now they are considering changing the standard. Unreal to me...
  4. Thanks dude !! 100% of proceeds go to Damar's foundation. The black one is on the way. Nice !!
  5. This is what I was saying from jump when I was firmly in wait and see mode. Making things up on the fly before the games are played week 18 is just overkill. They are proposing making adjustments that might not need to be made. However, I am also FIRMLY in agreement with Katie in that the rules are in place for this season and the time to make changes is in the off season. If the owners don't like how things shake out with the rules that are currently in place, address that in the upcoming off season as it has ALWAYS been done. Those rules which were established take the bias out of this decision. Changing on the fly only introduces more bias.
  6. THIS… https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/01/06/proposed-afc-seeding-plan-raises-important-issues-about-rule-changes-precedent/
  7. Katie is no old man Mike Brown voting NO for shits and giggles. She’s smart and like Stripes, I’m with her !!
  8. Agree they should absolutely beat the Ravens, but even if they do, the getting fucked over doesn’t end there. If it did, I wouldn’t be nearly as irritated.
  9. I went from being pissed at people bitching, to bitching. Granted, people were bitching before this decision and mine was afterward. There’s simply no way someone looks at this and says the Bengals made out well. They seriously went from having a shot at the #1 seed, to possibly not getting a home game as a division champion. Sure they handle things by winning on Sunday. This is true, but that doesn’t remove the fact they made rules up on the fly in the face of existing rules and in doing so fucked the Bengals more. There was more than one team on the field that was suffering due to what occurred Monday night.
  10. I want one…
  11. My take… When the decision was made to cancel the Bills Bengals game. Everyone should just deal with the fall out of that decision. Bengals have no shot at the #1 seed that they would have, they are division champs with a home game commensurate with that, and everyone else falls into place as a result of the initial decision. Everyone gets screwed one way or another, but this really feels like punishment for the Bengals.
  12. Now see there is just as much unfair in that as anything else, for those wanting to continue being pissed. From the Bengals perspective and since they aren’t playing the Bills Bengals game, the Bengals are AFC North champions. They have earned the home field advantage being a division champ. Now that could be removed and decided by a coin toss. Agree or disagree, my point is that no matter what they decide, someone is going to get hosed. In this instance not only do the Bengals now have no chance at the 1 seed, they could now lose home field advantage for a wild card game.
  13. To be clear, no one here has been bitching about seedings. I was referring to comment sections in other sites like PFT, etc… It’s also not to say I wouldn’t rather be playing for a shot at the 1 seed this Sunday, although we are still playing for the #2 which of course I would prefer. But to go so far as to make stupid claims that teams were cheated and other such nonsense is beyond ridiculous.
  14. Getting sick of people bitching about the potential seedings and how unfair it is. Well boo fucking hoo !! What’s unfair is a young man almost dying and not knowing if he will ever be able to play the game again. Unfair is what his family just went through. Those coaches and players as well. Seedings ?? Fuck off !!
  15. Congratulations Bengals ?!?!
  16. Yes, was alluding to that in the other thread. That weight being lifted will allow the players to move forward without worry. That's an amazing injury report come this time of the year !! LET'S GOOOOOOO !!!
  17. "Did we win" That's so awesome !!!
  18. Dude, reading that gave me chills thinking about the weight that has been lifted off of so many people thinking of and praying for him. True happiness hearing that news. Keep up the healing Damar !!!
  19. As much as I love the draft, this year more than most is going to be challenging until you see what they do in free agency (both internally and externally). I would guess TE would be high on the draft list, unless they are able to sign Hurst back. If that's the case, TE falls down the priority list. That's just one of many examples. Then there will be extensions to hand out as well. Where's the money going and how does it limit other areas? We will see.
  20. Are they ready? Are they going to hesitant? Are there other concerns we aren’t aware of? To be honest, none of it matters. They are playing at 1pm Sunday. Do your best and see what happens. Again, if they aren’t concerned about 2 or 3, then don’t play your starters and give them the extra time.
  21. Speaking of Coach Taylor's press conference, let me just say how great it is to have him as the coach of this team. You can see how good of a person he is and how his leadership has really impacted the players and this organization. It's nice to be able to say you are proud to be a fan of your team.
  22. I have no concerns either way honestly. Just trying to share what I see. If it's a non game, the upcoming games have next to no bearing.
  23. Not that it's the be all, end all concerning this conversation, but the ESPN Playoff Machine is currently treating the week 17 Bengals/Bills game like it didn't happen. I would think the NFL would be reluctant to go in that direction or at least announcing they are going in that direction due to one fact. The games for the Chiefs, Bengals and Bills would have very little meaning. Those 3 teams are locked into those seeds, with only a little jockeying between them possible. The Bengals would have no path to the #1 seed, only #2 at best. They could play nothing but practice squad guys, lose by 50 and do no worse than #3. It really makes me wonder how the NFL is going to handle this. The Chiefs and Raiders play on Saturday, with the Bengals game and Bills games going on Sunday. If KC wins, no matter what happens in the Bengals/Ravens or the Bills/Patriots games it will be Chiefs, Bills, Bengals in that seeding order.
  24. A lot of speculation that no one can confirm with any certainty. Another account has Zac Taylor going across to meet the Bills coach and telling him there’s no way we continue this game. Does that equate a forfeit on the part of the Bengals ?? I’m in sit and wait mode…
  25. It’s just not that hard to move on to week 18, play the games, and see what happens before deciding what to do with yesterday’s game.
