In-Season Roster Moves Thread

Still I wish if they were going to give up a decent prospect in Willis, why not just sign a FA earlier in the offseason who could actually produce?  I mean, now you’ve lost Malik Jefferson 3rd rounder (Browns claimed him and maybe still have him) and Willis 3rd rounder gone to the Jets ... wow I guess hindsight is crystal clear.  Too bad they didn’t know these guys sucked in April.

The Bengals today signed G Keaton Sutherland from the practice squad and waived WR Pharoh Cooper. The team also signed OT Dino Boyd to the practice squad, filling the spot created by Sutherland’s move to the active roster.

Sutherland (6-5, 316), a rookie out of Texas A&M, originally signed as a college free agent with the Bengals in May. He played in all four preseason games for Cincinnati, with a start at C in the finale vs. Indianapolis. In college, Sutherland played in 44 games (33 starts) over four seasons (2015-18) at Texas A&M, and saw action at both OT and G.

Cooper, a fourth-year player, had been acquired on waivers from Arizona on Sept. 1. He played in one game for the Bengals (no statistics).

Boyd (6-4, 300), a rookie out of the University of Cincinnati, originally signed as a college free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs in May. He was with the Chiefs through preseason, then was waived on final cuts.

The 3 x strength & conditioning coaches each have 1 years experience - maybe a factor, maybe not as Chip Morton couldn't shake off the injury djinn

The Bengals today signed WR Trenton Irwin to the practice squad.

Irwin (6-2, 207), a rookie out of Stanford, originally signed as a college free agent with the Miami Dolphins on May 5. The Dolphins waived him on Sept. 1.

Irwin fills the open practice squad position created yesterday, when the Bengals signed WR Stanley Morgan to the active roster from the practice squad.

Yup, we just signed a guy that the *Dolphins* didn’t want.
