Madieu hurt?

Madieu will be missed the most tackling the RB in the open field at the 2nd level. He single-handedly kept Thomas Jones from getting a TD on back-to-back 15 yd+ runs in the last Bears drive of the 1st half last week.

K2 has to shore up hard and take good angles if Davis gets into open field off pass or run. Davis ain't got the power of a Jamal Lewis but he can run downhill.

I don't think we should overlook the Texans, though.. yes, you're right.. but.. they're due for a win and we're due for a loss..

This is a BIG trap game...

A good call. The Bengals almost fell in this "Tiger Trap." 030807_tiger2.jpg

I'm going to freakin' SCREAM!! So you're saying you won't miss the linemen and linebackers making these tackles at the 1st level where they SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE IN THE FIRST GODDAM PLACE!?!

How many times must I point out the primary job of a safety? It's pass defense. If you think it's making open field tackles on free roaming running backs...then the defense has bigger problems than whenever who's playing starting saftey is coming back. <_<

I think people get the point billy, but the fact is the Bengals miss a ton of tackles up front and lose contain. Madieu, like a mike doss when he played at Ohio State, can come up and knock the running back. The Bengals struggled on outside runs today, and this was largely due to KK missing or losing contain. The Jags O has struggled all year, but it would still be nice to have Madieu roaming in the middle.

Okay then. Let's fix the real problem of linemen and linebackers missing tackles and losing containment! If the Bengals keep working on those basics I'm confident Marvin and Chucks defensive squad will continue to develop into a top NFL defensive unit. :bengal:
