HoosierCat Posted April 21 Author Report Posted April 21 Contract info finally for Dugger and Taylor. https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/onsi/contract-details-for-cincinnati-bengals-newest-members-of-the-secondary-01kpr8bddhmt That should leave them with about $3.5 million in cap space. Quote
HoosierCat Posted April 21 Author Report Posted April 21 Bullet dodged? Take it for what it’s worth but locking in to Woods at 10 would have been a very Bengals move. And it was my biggest fear going into Thursday before the trade. https://stripehype.com/bengals-rumor-wouldve-led-to-draft-disaster-if-not-for-dexter-lawrence-trade Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 21 Report Posted April 21 Dude, I have been saying for quite some time how much I DIDN'T like Peter Woods game to consider him at #10. Now had he made it to the 2nd round, it would have been more reasonable, but I will step out on a limb and say I don't think he's much better than Jenkins or McKinnley at this point. Watch anything on that dude. Unspectacular is the only word that comes to mind with a splash here and there. If he proves me wrong and goes on to dominate, great. I would place a large bet that doesn't happen. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted April 21 Author Report Posted April 21 I didn’t think they would go for Woods given how far he’s fallen off, but I was very afraid they’d reach for Kayden McDonald. In any event, we can relax now. Quote
HoosierCat Posted April 22 Author Report Posted April 22 So if you believe today’s rumor mill (coming from Tony Pauline) the Bengals offered the 10 to the Raiders for Crosby first. But Vegas want two firsts like they’d gotten from Baltimore, and Cincy declined. Good, imho. I like Crosby but not that much. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 Yeah, give me the interior guy that only costs a single first round pick. There are stories out there about the Bengals being aggressive during the draft as well. Not sure what to make of that, but for those that feel Burrow is leading this change of philosophy and they need to make sure he remains happy, maybe them getting aggressive is something we see. Prepare for a trade up from the 7th to the 6th round. Quote
HoosierCat Posted April 22 Author Report Posted April 22 Yeah over lunch I was looking at what they might be able to do, based on this trade chart: https://theramswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/rams/2026/04/21/nfl-trade-value-chart-points-worth-2026/89714244007/ Their last four picks, two sixes and two sevens, are worth 18 points combined and we know none of those guys are likely to contribute anything. But together they could move that fourth rounder to a late mid-third round pick. Or they could package 2-3 of them for a fifth or even late fourth. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 My thought on that THIS year is that I believe the talent in this year's draft class, while strong in some groups like linebacker, safety and cornerback, is weaker overall. With my thought being that, I hope they don't get cute in forcing an issue and give up picks for next year when I think the overall draft class and talent is much better. I won't fault them for trying to make a move and going after their guy, but it better be more than just a guy if they dip into next year's picks. Not only that, they have holes in depth that can be filled with those picks this year. To counter that point, they suck at developing players so maybe trade them all away... Quote
