ArmyBengal Posted August 19 Report Posted August 19 The Bengals have a quick turn around with their last preseason game this Saturday against the Colts. I usually head down for a preseason game, but not this year. This one is shaking out to be super boring and I'm hopeful the starters sit back and watch. Burrow has taken more snaps this preseason than all other preseason's combined. Just sit back and watch Joe. Give me Browning and Ridder all game with a bunch of back of the roster guys trying to earn a spot. Really that's all I want to see. No starters. Win, lose, don't care. Just be smart and get to week 1. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted August 19 Report Posted August 19 Burrow was already lobbying to play against Indy last night. He might get a series but I doubt it. Otherwise, yeah, this is the "battle for the taxi squad" game. Quote
HoosierCat Posted August 19 Report Posted August 19 No surprise, Colts sitting all their starters. Here’s the depth chart of the guys who will play: https://www.colts.com/news/colts-release-unofficial-depth-chart-for-preseason-week-3-game-vs-cincinnati-bengals Quote
ArmyBengal Posted August 20 Author Report Posted August 20 Just saw a report that Burrow and the starters will NOT play in the last preseason game. I'm calling that a big win !! Thank you Bengals. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted August 20 Report Posted August 20 Honestly that’s disappointing because burrow playing against dc pissed off Stephen A. Smith and anything that pisses that asshole off is a good idea in my book. 1 Quote
WelshBengal Posted August 20 Report Posted August 20 I think I will be watching anyway as I am interested to see if Mitchell Tinsley can keep up the play from last week in this game and stamp his ticket to the 53 Man roster. 1 Quote
volcom69 Posted Saturday at 08:33 PM Report Posted Saturday at 08:33 PM Preseason or not what the hell was that? They have no depth apparently anywhere, or must be that vanilla play calling. lol geez glad i decided to not really watch much of that. Quote

He didn't play at all, so he should be solidly on the roster. Quote
Stripes Posted Saturday at 09:27 PM Report Posted Saturday at 09:27 PM As for the game, or its score, or the performances of the players, or any of that: I cannot make myself care. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted Saturday at 09:42 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 09:42 PM Couldn’t agree more. Most meaningless game ever. If you are trying to take anything from that game and apply it to what week 1 will look like, just relax. I didn’t even watch. Quote
HoosierCat Posted Saturday at 09:59 PM Report Posted Saturday at 09:59 PM Clearly we are doomed 0-17 incoming Mike Brown sucks! Quote

volcom69 Posted Saturday at 10:23 PM Report Posted Saturday at 10:23 PM No need to panic after the preseason, but damn thought there would have been better gameplay. I stopped watching after a little bit, but now will be interested in who’s in and who’s out. Well let’s see now how these young guys play when it matters now, and how good Goldens scheme will be. I’m excited for this season to start Quote
ArmyBengal Posted Sunday at 02:33 AM Author Report Posted Sunday at 02:33 AM I’m more interested in seeing who gets cut from other teams that might provide some depth at various positions. Quote
Stripes Posted Sunday at 03:19 AM Report Posted Sunday at 03:19 AM I'd like to see a safety from the waiver wire if anyone interesting turns up. Anthony is hurt (and I don't think he's any good). Quote
COB Posted Monday at 02:52 AM Report Posted Monday at 02:52 AM They’ll be looking for competent o-linemen. As always. Semi competent will probably be good enough. Quote

HoosierCat Posted 12 hours ago Report Posted 12 hours ago Hey Army any thoughts on G Kenyon Green? I know he busted pretty fast with Houston, got traded to Philly a few weeks back and now the Eagles are cutting him. Doesn't sound promising but he's still young and a former first-round pick. Not too many of those floating around. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted 11 hours ago Author Report Posted 11 hours ago Dude, I love Kenyon Green coming out of college and thought he would have been a staple for the Texans at OG for years to come. However, the dude was horrible. Not sure the reason for his horribleness, but apparently it wasn't just a change of scenery thing. If you get cut after a team trades a valuable piece to obtain your services, that's not good. Maybe someone gives him a shot, but I would be skeptical at best should the Bengals add him. It's a shame honestly. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted 11 hours ago Author Report Posted 11 hours ago Ok, players out there that I recall liking at one point in time or another. LB Chad Muma just got released by the Jags. I remember really liking his game coming out of Wyoming like Wilson did at linebacker. Not sure what happened in Jacksonville, but more linebacker depth wouldn't bother me. Go figure. OG Clay Webb was released by the Broncos. He was a guy I had in the late rounds of mock drafts for most of the draft season. He played a lot of ball at Georgia and was really solid before he transferred. Interesting player. CB M.J. Devonshire was released by the Ravens. I liked him coming out of Pitt, but don't know much about his path. DE Andre Carter was released by the Raiders in what some called a surprising cut. Not sure if he's better than our depth though. I'm sure there are more to come and safety is still a position I could see them adding to. Then again, who knows? Probably not much, if anything. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted 10 hours ago Report Posted 10 hours ago Ridder getting cut. Might find his way to the taxi squad. https://www.wlwt.com/article/cincinnati-bengals-desmond-ridder-cut-2025-season/65899518 Quote
