Adversity arrives in many forms: Burrow: “ok the other team just kicked off.” Taylor: “Holy shit, get out there and start chucking it!!” 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted Wednesday at 02:37 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 02:37 PM It's interesting and I can't help but wonder how much more prevalent this may be in 2025. It takes me back to a QB episode on Netflix when Burrow made the comment that sometimes early in the season he's feeling like, "Just don’t turn the ball over". He said that sometimes he will see the throw and still toss a pick. It sounded like he was in his head too much about trying to be perfect and not throwing a pick, as opposed to just getting after it. What better way to settle things down early on in the season to have a strong running game he can lean on? Seeing that continue through the season would only be a strength. Clearly the thought of the slow start is a very real thought for them as well. He notes that the more reps he gets the faster he gets in running the plays. I think that's part of why we are seeing him get live reps in the preseason games as well. I don't want him getting injured during the preseason, but if that is something that helps him from a mental prep aspect, I support them getting him in there. 2 Quote

AMPHAR Posted Wednesday at 05:53 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 05:53 PM I don't buy the run game talk. However, they did have a couple play actions in the preseason game. At camp they did spend a whole bunch of snap handling for what I would guess is for RPOs, really don't recall seeing that in previous camps. Quote
AMPHAR Posted Wednesday at 06:10 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 06:10 PM Run or pass. Week 1 on the road in Cleveland they need to create early scoring pressure. Whether it be run, pass, or unscripted score you have to avoid a grind out game and let the Cleveland QB just run into the line and punt (if all else fails). Put scoring pressure on Cleveland in which the opposing 0-Coord feels they need to put the game more on the QB and it will flip to the Bengals easily. Basically avoid the Pittsburgh, New England type game flows. Which involved turnovers. Quote

That dude is hilarious. His personality has to be a really good fit for that group. He referenced the scuffle and said: "It was just a lot of love out there. Everybody just wanted some extra hugs and stuff." Knowing they can't be fighting out there. LMAO !! 1 Quote
COB Posted Thursday at 04:27 PM Report Posted Thursday at 04:27 PM Football scuffles are kind of funny. Just a lot of pushing and shoving. Then on the next legitimate play they play football, which is about 5 times more dangerous and damaging than the “fight” in which they just engaged. Quote
COB Posted Thursday at 04:47 PM Report Posted Thursday at 04:47 PM I can’t wait for the season to start. By the end of last year we were the “team no one wanted to see in the playoffs.” Now, by most indications, we added 3 legit starters in the draft. Slaton looks ok, Perine is back, RB1 looks like he just fell out of the PED cabinet. And Burrow. PS - fake game reps have us looking indomitable. And our division? Ha! Browns - totally vulnerable due to cognitively impaired owner too focused on bribing Ohio R lawmakers to bother to even make one correct football decision. Steelers - their rent-a-wreck QB, once a new world samurai, now a dimwitted conspiracy theorist who is basically spending his last season falling off a cliff in slow motion. Ruined. Ravens - Formidable. Seems their regular season was dipped in the River Styx, but said dipping took place while holding onto the playoffs portion of their season. Week 18 is coming! Unwarranted and completely delusional confidence RISING!! 1 Quote

AMPHAR Posted Thursday at 06:08 PM Report Posted Thursday at 06:08 PM I'd like to see the Trey contract situation clear up soon. I've been working under the assumption there's no way hell he will miss game checks IF the rumors are true that the total dollars are done and its just guarantee money holding it up. But hasn't happened. Conspiracy theory in me says they'll magically get it done before Monday Night broadcast so its talked about the entire night. Quote

Given the lack of any recent grousing from either side, I've assumed that the deal is effectively done and Trey is just skipping camp. So sometime after the Colts game and before Cleveland kicks off, they will get the paperwork signed. Quote

AMPHAR Posted Thursday at 07:46 PM Report Posted Thursday at 07:46 PM 2013-2015 Bengals were close to dong it. Steelers and Bengals beat the crap out of each other in the last game of 2014 season. Bengals lost in 4th quarter with a fumble in which the Steelers jacked up AJ's head. Sometime in the game the Bengals jacked up Bell. Steelers won the game and the division. Both teams lost in the wildcard round the next week. Bengals won it 2013, 2015. Recent games vs. Baltimore have been so close. I'd expect both to be close again and hopefully swing in Bengals favor this time. Gonna be a heck of a Thanksgiving. Quote
