HoosierCat Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 Ok so we all know who Army is rooting for now. And of course we are all rooting for Baltimore and Pittsburgh to lose. Beyond that, I’m rooting for Tampa, because I want to hear the grinding sound of a million teeth coming from Cleveland when Baker Mayfield hoists the Lombardi. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 Yeah, rooting for the Texans, but have no thought of them being there in the end. So outside of them, yeah was thinking the same thing about Baker Mayfield and Cleveland. Also with Stripes and the Lions. Outside of those teams, I really can't bring myself to care much. Maybe the Commanders with rookie QB Daniels? 1 Quote
COB Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 Lions for the NFC. For the AFC? I know we’re supposed to hate teams in our division, but I like watching Lamar play. Texans and Ravens. Would be great to see Pittsburgh just completely fall on their faces. Get blown out. Tomlin will have to fire off 100 cliches in the post season presser. Hopefully the Chargers’ team bus will fall off a bridge somewhere on their way to the stadium in Houston. Harbaugh is not what he claims to be. Quote

I'm still a little salty about my interactions with Bills fans during the playoffs a couple years back. Bills Mafia gets a lot of credit for showing up and helping out (kudos), but going there in person? I didn't run into a single Bills fan that was pleasant. NOT ONE. Quite the opposite as a matter of fact. Just straight up assholes to my son (15 at the time) and me. I think Josh Allen is a great QB and I like watching him play the game, but that's where it ends for me and Buffalo. Hell, even that city is a piece of shit. Quote

AMPHAR Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 Never been to Buffalo and don't plan on going ever. I've heard too many bad things. A Steeler win over the Ravens would cause an epic meltdown in Baltimore and that would be fun to watch. Although the Bengal win last week in Pitt has solidified that fan base against Tomlin. Tomlin has over 200 NFL wins. Harbaugh is closing in on the 200 win mark. Both have Superbowls. Its amazing in the AFC North every team hates their head coach. Out of all the coaching press conferences to be had over the next week or 2, I'm confident we'll never hear anything similar.... We are proud to announce Frank Harper as the next head coach of the Baltimore Ravens. Frank has zero coaching experience but we led an extensive coaching search and found LewisRaven52 on the purpleflock message board. We reviewed Frank's (LewisRaven52) 8,000+ posts and were blown away. Frank also has a PFF subscription and the biggest Apple Ipad he watches All-22. Please welcome LewisRaven52 and the next Baltimore Raven head coach. Quote

gregcook68 Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 Okay, I’ll be the one to repeat the most used NFL cliche in football . . . ANY GIVEN SUNDAY!! THERE! It’s been said! NEVER forget the Giants were a 9-7 wild card team and beat the Pats in the SB! Quote
gregcook68 Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 36 minutes ago, ArmyBengal said: Yeah, that would be wonderful. I agree. I don’t like either team, but I despise the Steelers more! ESPECIALLY thinking back to the 70s as they have ALWAYS been the Bengals nemesis! With the admission from a referee that they tended to cater to Brady and the Pats, don’t be surprised if the NFL gets a chubby over the first team to THREE PEAT! As much of a Reds fan as I am, I’ll never forget during the 1976 season, one of the umpires admitted that Joe Morgan had such a tremendous eye for balls and strikes, that when Joe was up and he ‘took’ a close pitch, the call was always a ball, because he said if Morgan took the pitch, it had to be a ball? Is that bias? You bet it is! Quote
ArmyBengal Posted January 7 Report Posted January 7 Hadn't heard that one about Joe Morgan. That's pretty incredible for an umpire to admit that. Also speaks very highly of the skill of Joe. So much fun watching those teams play ball. Great memories !! Quote

I would have gone to the ‘90 series but I was in Florida. Quote
glasgowbengal Posted January 12 Report Posted January 12 Chargers are an absolute riot. Surely one of the worst playoff performances ever. Quote

COB Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 On the Washington vs Tampa bay game, they showed the Washington defense introducing themselves, then Mike Tirico said the following about the Washington defense: ”8 new starters, much improved. Easily the worst defense in the nfl last year. Much better this year.” There is hope! Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 13 Author Report Posted January 13 Of course there’s always hope. How else will our hearts be broken again? Hope is Mike Brown’s greatest ally. Hope is what made him rich. Championships, not so much. To quote a very wise poster here: “depression sets in.” 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 13 Author Report Posted January 13 When I talk about how watching our offense is like pulling teeth, that td pass is the exact opposite of what I’m talking about. We need to make defenses fear us. We are going to hit our best receiver in the end zone and there nothing you can do to stop us. We 100 percent have the talent to do that but for some reason we struggle. Bengals need to find that killer instinct. Quote
COB Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 Commander fans really went through it with that weird owner. They’ve got to be thrilled how quickly this whole thing turned around for them. 1 Quote
AMPHAR Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 I'd have to look at the stats over a 17 game season but sure glad Cleveland ran Baker out of town. That would have been a "fun" rivalry with Lamar, Burrow and Baker. That Cleveland team would have been a force to deal with the past 3 years with a more stable QB spot. Out of the slow start 1-4. Only the Patriots aren't in the divisional round of the playoffs. All losses less than 7 points. With the coaching changes up and coming. Zac should be on the hottest of seats with a season that repeats this past one. 1-4 start sucks all life out of the season. 3-5 at home which includes another home loss to the biggest rival Steelers. Pulling for Mixon and the Texans the rest of the way with a secondary team of Buffalo. A Buffalo/Houston AFC Championship would be fine with me. The City of Houston hasn't been in that game for a long time I think, 1979? As an old AFC Central fan and hater of the Oilers, can't really believe I'd pull for Houston but that's were we are today. Then Buffalo back in the Superbowl. Could they possibly go 0-5 in the big game? Yikes. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted January 13 Report Posted January 13 Agree in that I’m pulling for the Texans. That defense stepped up big, but so don’t think they yet have the makeup to really push a team like the Bills or Chiefs. The game against the Ravens is going to be a nail biter and if the D falters, could be a long day. Yes, rooting for Mixon as well. Ravens, Chiefs and Bills ?? I guess I would have to go Bills if forced to pick, but that might as well be the Ravens, Steelers and Browns… Quote
