AMPHAR Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 Brown family doesn't want to move. As the story goes they were gone in 1993. Then a last minute deal to turn the "yellow" riverfront section into a stadium club was reached. Then Marge blocked it. Which put on them on path of Baltimore which people mocked, then Cleveland took it. This all started even before they were in Superbowl 23. When the salary cap grows based on league wide revenue and your stadium can't match what other league team's produce they aren't going to stay in Cincinnati and lose millions in revenue while their expense grows. Its best the County looks forward instead of resisting. Put forth the plan now to get them to sign the extension and don't default on the promises. Give another city or county in this case an opportunity to start throwing around new stadia ideas then all of sudden Hamilton County is in a worse situation than 1995 because they have way more debt invested in the riverfront today and the only way that is managed is by having more patrons visit the Riverfront. HoosierCat Posted April 10 Author Report Posted April 10 The Bengals and Hamilton County finally agree on something: the state needs to pony up $350 million for the stadium. https://www.fox19.com/2025/04/10/bengals-hamilton-county-seeking-350-million-ohio-stadium-renovations/ Man, 350 for Mike, 600 for Jimmy up in Clown Town, if you ever wondered how billionaire nfl owners stay billionaires, there’s your sign! AMPHAR Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Politicians are never going to turn down a chance to play "city planner". Its a pile of money they get to play power broker with. Create or expand some Stadium Authority department etc. Its foolish for fans to think these gov entities would ever get tired of the stadium game. They get billions of dollars to play with/manage/mismanage/lose/pocket whatever. Quote

COB Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Browns pull Joe Flacco off the embalming table and sign him to play qb in 2025. In Columbus, House republicans immediately introduce bill to provide public funds to pay Flacco’s contract. 1 Quote

COB Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Flacco’s agent was just on the tube, he said Joe will be moving into a nice quiet assisted living facility in the Cleveland area. It’s really happening, Flacco to the Browns. 1 Quote

ArmyBengal Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Speaking of good news, apparently Myles Murphy stopped eating Cap'n Crunch cereal for breakfast. He's in the best shape of his life. The Cap'n will steal your soul if you aren't careful. We've battled quite a bit. I heard he was related to.... dare I say his name ??? (Rookie Pool) 1 Quote

I have multiple pot holes I'd liked fixed on the road close to my house. I'm pretty sure I saw a Wal Mart semi truck fall in there, along with a family of 5 in a Chrysler mini van. Then again, a man was driving the mini van, so that might have been intentional. Disregard. Poor Wal Mart truck. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted April 17 Author Report Posted April 17 Commanders on the cusp of getting $850 million from DC for a new stadium. To be fair, they say they'll pony up the rest of the cost of the new, $3 billion stadium, but still. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/commanders-d-c-close-to-3-billion-deal-for-new-stadium-at-rfk-site-in-nations-capital-per-report/ Quote
Stripes Posted April 17 Report Posted April 17 I wonder if they intend to stick with “Commanders”. The new ownership seemed interested in another change at first. Quote
COB Posted Friday at 03:10 PM Report Posted Friday at 03:10 PM Watching Aaron Rodgers jerk the Steelers around is turning into the highlight of the off season. A week out from the draft, and darn, Aaron can’t decide if he wants to play or not. He’ll work it out if he can find some cameras and a live microphone. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted Friday at 03:18 PM Report Posted Friday at 03:18 PM I'm really hoping he lands with the Steelers. That drama would be so much fun to watch. Mostly because Rodgers sucks now. That dude was straight ass last year. So old. Quote

HoosierCat Posted yesterday at 02:20 PM Author Report Posted yesterday at 02:20 PM Quote Hamilton County has struck a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals on improvements to Paycor Stadium, though there is still an impasse regarding the lease extension. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2025/04/22/hamilton-county-deal-bengals-paycor-lease-terms.html Interesting sequence there. Personally I would do an extension first, then talk about improvements, but you do you, HamCo. ETA: some details: Hamilton County has struck a deal with the Cincinnati Bengals to spend $185 million improving Paycor Stadium in 2026. Quote
