Week 14: Bengals @ Cowboys

Recommended Posts

So you’d like to think that they’d go for a seasoned, ex-HC, as the new DC. A Saleh, or Allen or even Eberflus.

But the cash burning in the Brown’s pockets will remain there and they’ll either promote from within (please god, no!) or cheap out on someone “up and coming”.

What’s Paulie Gunter up to these days?

It’s not a great class at WR this year, so the handful of good ones like Egbuka will get snapped up probably higher than they should. Another reason to hang onto Tee. Heck it would even be a decent year for the tag-and-trade concept, tho I doubt our FO could pull something like that off.

The Draft - Before we worry about what deck chair we’re going to draft to put on the Titanic, we should just face reality.  It doesn’t matter.

The only thing that’s going to change this thing is new coaches.  We’ve seen squads do huge turnarounds with new coordinators.  That’s our only hope.  We need a DC for the ages!

Zac’s not getting fired.  But maybe they’ll make him give up play calling.

In-game strategy is fucked around this place.  He needs to get better at that, focus on that, and let someone else focus on calling the plays.

Honestly I know it’s a throwback thing but Burrow would probably do a better job.  The game is too complicated and moves too fast these days for a qb to do it, but if I see them go shotgun with guys spread on both sides on 4th and 1 again I’ll be even less responsible for my actions than I normally am.

Wait, are you saying we shouldn’t trade Ja’Marr for more deck chairs? How can you be against such a fantastic idea?!?

You surely recognize the appeal this has to the Brown family.  Cut loose of the guy who needs paid like a top player in the league, replace him with draft picks who will be on their price controlled rookie deal for 4 years.  One small hole in this logic - the really good player doesn’t play for your team anymore.

I will draw up a Venn diagram of the pros and cons, see what gets overlapped.

Well I fly out to the US tomorrow morning, so I will be watching this game in a sports bar or a buffalo wild wings in Orlando.  Though I think we should just stink the place out for the next 5 games can see us beating the cowgirls.

Safe travels!
