If they had coaches who knew what they were doing maybe they would be ok. Quote

There's always the proverbian 'next year', for the 57th time!!! You said you like the draft! Even though this will be year 58 we can say it again and again, this team is only a draft pick or two from the Lombardi!! I remember when, maybe not many in here, but fans around town and in other places thought the Lombardi was in the bag when Burrow was drafted! lol Bengals puts up 38 points and still lose?!?!?!? Brady was smart enough to keep his salary down so Kraft/Billy B could keep an OL and a decent defense for Tommy and it resulted in 6 Lombardi effort!! Quote

Teams can pay their star QB and still pay other players. KC does it. Baltimore does it. Cincinnati uses it as an excuse because they don’t want to play by the same financial rules as the rest of the league. The Brown family’s no. 1 goal is not to win a championship, it’s to pile up as much money as possible in their bank accounts. Quote
HoosierCat Posted December 2 Author Report Posted December 2 Per pff, our best player on defense today, with a 79.4 grade? Joe Bachie Joe. Fucking. Bachie. Burn it down. Burn it ALL down. 2 Quote
Stripes Posted December 2 Report Posted December 2 Fire Zac Taylor and Lou Anarumo. Hire Bill Belichick, who has pretty much never had a bad defense in his life. Let Joe Burrow adapt to a head coach that is just as much of a psychopath as he is about winning. Suffer his inconsistent drafting record, because Tobin isn't doing any better anyway. At least he'll win games when Joe throws 3 TDs.*** ***All of the above is useless dreaming, I'm well aware 2 Quote
TJJackson Posted December 2 Report Posted December 2 I may be the only happy forum member right now.....I of course loathe The Rapistbergers, but Ive already thrown in the towel on 2024 and am looking forward to a top ten draft pick in 2025 Lose'em all, please Bengals have shown tremendous potential for losing this season 1 Quote
TJJackson Posted December 2 Report Posted December 2 One thing I did like: Ossai and Murphy got more snaps. Keep'em coming Lou. 1 Quote
COB Posted December 2 Report Posted December 2 Dehner just posted an absolute takedown of the defense. Said no one should be safe, Lou must go. Also mentioned the following : (Quoting his article) “Nine of the Bengals’ last 11 top-100 picks came on the defensive side. They aren’t developing. Find a name on the list that has made a positive career progression this year. Maybe two. • 2024 Kris Jenkins (No. 46 pick) • 2024 McKinnley Jackson (97) • 2023 Myles Murphy (28) • 2023 DJ Turner (60) • 2023 Jordan Battle (95) • 2022 Dax Hill (30) • 2022 Cam Taylor-Britt (60) • 2022 Zach Carter (95) • 2021 Joseph Ossai (69) They must get more out of the young players. For two years, that hasn’t happened. Name a young defensive player you confidently build around. Name a defensive player that you confidently slot in as a starter in 2025. The list is on one hand and it’s not offering a high-five.” 9 out of 11 of our highest picks? Find me a bridge from which to jump. This kind of drafting, done in long chunks, cripples organizations like the Bengals. Remember our run on offensive linemen? Wrecked our line for years. He also mentioned our free agents this year, Von Bell, Sheldon Rankins, and Geno Stone. You would almost have to try to whiff so bad on so many draft picks and free agents. Systemic failure from top to bottom. Quote
COB Posted December 2 Report Posted December 2 Thinking about getting a couple outfits like Elvis used to wear. Kind of like a cape thing, seriously popped collar. Going to be looking good as a 62-year-old headed down to the IGA to get some black beans and ground turkey! Also some milk. 1 Quote
COB Posted December 2 Report Posted December 2 Wicked takedown of Mike by a writer in the Enquirer. Among other things, he wrote: “The Cincinnati Bengals lost 27-6 to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon That's the staffing number difference between the football personnel departments of the franchises. The Steelers have 21 more people evaluating prospective future draft picks and free agents than the Bengals.” Quote

I really thought they had changed once and for all when they went big spenders on DJ Reader , Ogunjobi , Hendrickson , Bell, etc…. Stupid stupid me. They’ve not changed at all. Useless draft picks, no trades, let all the talent walk on the defense… meanwhile our Dan Marino years are piling up. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted December 2 Report Posted December 2 I hate being a fan of this team. Really hate it. They just never get it and throw excuses around like it's nothing. At the VERY minimum, Lou should have had his shit waiting on the curb before he made it to the locker room after that game. Where's the accountability? I've said this before... How many times are they going to put Burrow up there for press conferences answering questions when the defense is so fucking bad? Where's the leadership from Anarumo? Where's the leadership from the defensive captains? Where's the leadership from Zac to get those guys up there to account for how fucked up they have been? Watch the presser from Burrow. While accounting for what's his to take responsibility, he's suppose to answer for the epic failure of the defense? Spare me that bullshit. I hate damn near everything about this team. All the grief and ridicule they get from the media and other team's fanbases is 100% justified. They simply have no leg to stand on. Where's the track record to hang your hat to explain why things are always done the same? Stupid me really thought they had changed. They didn't and this season proves that beyond a shadow of a doubt. They are a laughingstock and deserve every bit of it. THIS is why I refuse to go to any more games, spend any more money, or even give some of my time to watching on TV. They haven't earned any of that from me. I wasn't joking when I said I tuned in and the first play was Burrow's fumble. I literally watched the next defensive series and turned it off. How many chances do these coaches get? There simply is no excuse. They have a say in the players they bring in and there aren't even 4 or 5 guys out of the 11 that are even average, let alone above average on the defense. What about the o-line? How many draft picks and free agents has Pollack been given to improve things for Burrow and have it still result in failure? They are ruining my love of not only the draft, but the sport overall. They just embody failure. Hard to root for that. Quote
HoosierCat Posted December 4 Author Report Posted December 4 At the risk of injecting a positive note into the current hellscape, Mims had his best game as a bengal, mostly stoning Watt in just his 10th game and 9th start. Also had some monster run blocks, something he’d struggled with up to now. Quote
COB Posted December 4 Report Posted December 4 Mims is a bright spot for sure. Love watching him play, dude looks huge even out there with nfl line players. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted December 4 Report Posted December 4 Yes couldn’t agree more. Mims has worked out about as well as we could hope for. Happy for him. That’s one… 1 Quote
TJJackson Posted December 4 Report Posted December 4 if thats one, then Eric All is 2, even though he is injured Quote
ArmyBengal Posted December 4 Report Posted December 4 Yeah, I like All too, but was referring to o-linemen in general. Mims is about the only one I'm thrilled with at this point. Maybe if Orlando was healthy, he'd be less of a concern. The whole interior needs to be improved. Quote
