Yeah rumor is he may move to Brian Ayrault, Burrow’s agent. Chances are definitely going up.

News that, while not under the radar, will be under appreciated in how much it will widen the gulf between the haves and the have nots.  Mike is seriously screwing this team and this fan base with his stubborn adherence to old cap management and old school “all me” ownership.  It really is an egotistical thing at this point.

Tee fired David Mulugheta.  He was Jessie Bates’ agent.  Really a guy who ignores team dynamics and player fit, just totally focused on the money.  Kind of his job but also known for ignoring other factors.  Jessie Bates could have stayed here and I think he’d have thrived.  He’s played great in Atlanta but they’re certainly not a Super Bowl threat.

He represented DeShaun Watson.  After Watson very understandably said he didn’t want to sign with Cleveland, Mulugheta outsmarted that truck stop clerk up there and got that deal.  It hasn’t worked out for anyone but Mulugheta.  He’s a good agent for a certain type of client.

One other thing about Mulugheta.   He seems to encourage his guys to get their unrestricted rights by playing on the tag.  Tee and Bates both played on the tag.

Not many guys play on the tag.  There is a lot of risk to the player.  The payoff comes when Mulugheta gets to auction his guy off to the whole league, be a big shot when your guy signs that mega deal.  You don’t get that kind of attention by having your client sign a normal extension after your 4 year rookie deal is over.

One last thing about Mulugheta.  Some guys do well with new teams as free agents.  But a lot of guys never perform at the same level.  They were used to their teammates, maybe the scheme fit them, maybe they benefited from the years’ long familiarity with the guys in either side of them.  Whatever.

But we can all think of about a hundred examples just from our team.  This very year in fact.

Just a thing Tee might be thinking about.  It’s pretty great to have JaMarr Chase lining up on the other side of the line pulling all that attention from the safety away from you.

I've been in favor of resigning Tee.   I guess I still am.   But its interesting that the heat/smoke as turned up about an extension when his production has fallen like a rock since the 21 and 22 seasons in which people thought he'd be in the upper tier of contracts.       Its hard to say but 581 yards thus far isn't that hard to draft in the top 100.   Not guaranteed but still not a stretch to replace.

Even the big plays he produced with Jake last year have seem to disappear despite Burrow/Chase playing at league leading levels.     He missed the KC,Balt, and Philly games.  Two of those games went to the last play and are basically the season right now.

I guess you'd have to ask "at what cost".    Just about every talking head in the summer was predicting huge season for him and it just hasn't happened.

Here's Spotrac's take on a new Higgins deal that is interesting to look at.

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/market-value/_/id/47628/tee-higgins

Scroll down to the 4 comparisons they have used of Godwin, McLaurin, Moore and Pittman.
Tee is worse than all of them in damn near every statistical category.
However he leads them all in receiving TD's per game and overall rating.
The games played per year is damning to Tee.

If we could get him back at less than $20 million per year, which I never gave thought to, that's a steal in my book.
If he's asking for top of the market, say good bye.  As much as I like Tee, he's not worth close to what JaMarr is going to get.

There’s no doubt injury is a big factor here. Tee bet on himself this year and crapped out. Instead of a big bounceback year, he now has two straight injury plagued seasons. He’s still a stud when he’s on the field, tho.

Honestly, for the Bengals this is a perfect setup for how they prefer to do business. You give him a base of like 15 and then a 500k per game incentive. Or whatever exact numbers you want to plug in, you get the idea.

Odell Beckham Jr. would like to co-sign this above comment.
Dolphins are going to be releasing him.
Remember when OBJ was the best WR in the league?  It's been quite some time.

Higgins just signed with Rocky Arceneaux.  He is JaMarr Chase’s agent as well.  I honestly do not understand the logic there for the player, but whatever.  Tee seems very interested in re-signing with us, Joe wants him, great relationship with the R1, we’ll see where this all goes!
