It’s not looking good for Scherff.  Bengals sending signals they are set until after the draft.  If they were going to sign him I assume they’d have done so by now.

Replacing their two guards with something better provided the Brown family with a very low bar.  Just what the doctor ordered.  Hopefully that doctor has some time available in the fall if this underwhelming performance by the front office results in Burrow getting hurt.

Absolutely shocking quote from Dehner’s piece in The Athletic today:

The last time the Bengals gave one of their offensive line draft picks a second contract was 2011 fourth-rounder Clint Boling. They have drafted 20 offensive linemen since.”

I think most teams are done with FA until after the draft. The guys left out there are mostly bargain bin types that we used to bang on the team for signing. If we want difference makers now, it will be up to Tobin and his scouts to find them.

Yeah was happy about that. He had committed to them early and has now shut down all recruitment to solidify Ohio State. Happy for him and hoping his commitment will bring some others.

Happy for him, he’s a good kid.
Watched him play a lot in high school before he moved out to Cali.

Trey is limited in his leverage.   A holdout gets him nothing, because with Tee/Chase done he's the prime Franchise Tag candidate for next year and maybe afterward.

If your Trey, I guess you have to hope the Bengals don't go scorched earth and pull all offers after the draft and call your bluff.   If your the Bengals I'd get my price or I'm leaving the possibility open that a team gets frisky during draft weekend and ups the ante.

Bottom line for right now there isn't a whole lot of incentive for either party to move before draft day, I guess.

Trey wants to be compensated like an undrafted free agent.

Which is exactly what he would be if he had played out the 4 year 60 million dollar deal he signed before the ‘21 season.

Instead of reading Carnegies "How to make friends and influence others", Katie-Pumpkin read the book "How to make enemies and alienate others" by IP Freely

Must be nice to own a business guaranteed to make money no matter how badly you fail as a business person, or just as a person, even

Yup. No one to blame but himself.

That about sums it up. I don’t think either side will go nuclear but if a “frisky” team fails to emerge post-draft this could drag on well into summer.

Dude went on known Steeler homer Pat McAfee and complained.  Said there are aspects he won’t budge on mainly length of deal and guarantees.  Does not want incentives.  Says he and his wife want to be as humble as possible as Christ-loving people.

Trey:  “the bengals won’t negotiate with me, wahh!  Also, I refuse to negotiate.”

That's the dumbest quote I have ever seen from Katie Blackburn, or maybe second to her communication with Whitworth (that one is hearsay).

Trey may well need to can it, but STFU Katie. What are you doing.

Just NFL business.   No need to be upset.    Trey will get squared away eventually or maybe traded.     He'll realize the going on the McAfee program the "Bengals Cheap" narrative isn't going to go as far as it would have prior to signing Chase/Higgins.     Eventually it will revert back to him because just about everybody wanted to return so what's his fucking problem with winning?

Hold out gets him no where.   Tag is looming.    Really nothing to worry about.  He's here or they get a boat load of a trade.

Oh don’t let the “fuck yous” fool you.
I’m not upset by any stretch.

Just tired of the stupidity.

Trey seems to be in a constant state of “I’m underpaid”, which he may be. However he signed the contract and has since had it reworked. Fuck off.

Katie obviously still doesn’t understand that while it may in fact be hard to run an NFL football team, you can make it harder when you say dumb shit.

So my position hasn’t changed with those two. Just fuck all the way off.

I think it works out with Trey.   I'd rather have feel good vibe during Training Camp because you give the local scribes a little bit of grey they'll rush to turn it to pure black immediately so hopefully he's traded or extended before July.
