ArmyBengal Posted March 20 Author Report Posted March 20 I'm still want Trey back plain and simple. I really am going to be pissed if they let him leave. I know some don't like him, but I don't think you set Golden up for success letting the only guy that gets pressure walk. Extend Trey now. Quote
AMPHAR Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 I think Trey will end up back in Cincinnati and I think the only alternative would be some sort of decent trade package if he isn't. Quote

So hopefully this a coupled with a Trey return. PFF grades pass the smell test. Although I think those are highly overrated. Don't like that he's coming from low tier QB troubled offenses that aren't know high level passing attacks. Because that's what the Bengals are and that's what he'll be in IF he signs up for duty. 1 Quote

Going to be 32 before the start of the season. Was undrafted in 2016. Has played for the Packers, Bears, and Saints. He would come cheap. Don't really know much about him. Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 Some tidbits from NO fans here. https://saintsreport.com/threads/saints-fa-lg-lucas-patrick-visits-seattle.520755/ Sounds like he would be a solid backup/depth piece. Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 Oklahoma State LB Nick Martin visiting. Missed 24 with injuries, had 140 tackles, 6 sacks, 2 picks and a FF in 23. Quote
COB Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 We look at these guys as depth, but they’re super important. Half of them end up with significant playing time in the second half of the season. Quote
COB Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 Assuming he’s healthy, they need to get Brandon Scherff in here and sign him. No idea what they’re waiting for. Quote
Stripes Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 Lucas Patrick sounds fine. As the second FA guard. I am greedy. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 20 Author Report Posted March 20 OG Jenkins from the Bears signs with the Browns. Quote

COB Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Jenkins is a run blocking specialist. We want Scherff, who is allegedly a pass blocking specialist. Quote
TJJackson Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 The guy from The Saints is an average pass blocker and a slightly better than average run blocker Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 21 Author Report Posted March 21 Not that I care for Jedrick Wills from the Browns by any stretch, but I wonder what Scott Peters thought on him is? Peters loved him at one point and sang his praises about being a right tackle. Any thought to him at RG? If Peters has any remaining thoughts on Wills benefiting from a change of scenery and motivation in facing his old team, there are worse ways to kick tires than a former top 10 pick. If Peters isn't thinking of him, neither am I, I just saw he was still out there. I would still favor one of the other Browns OG's getting released however. Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Attn cap nerds! Chase contract details: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/72384/jamarr-chase $23.5 million cap hit this year, so about $2 million more than the fifth year option. Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Here’s Tee. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/47628/tee-higgins Same cap hit as the tag, $26 million. So re-signing both cost them a net $2 million in 2025 cap space. Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 So right now the Bengals have $20.5 million in cap space (and almost $19 million tied up in Trey’s last year). Quote
Stripes Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 A bit of a bummer to have less cap space contrary to expectation, but it should ease the load down the road. 1 Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Great news Army you get to watch Trent Brown get hurt again in Houston. And they’re paying $3 million for the privilege! Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 21 Author Report Posted March 21 Ugh to both of your last comments !! LOL... Quote

Scherff is, apparently, in no rush to sign anywhere and is taking his time to weigh up multiple options. I think that we sometimes forget that this is a 2 way street. 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 21 Author Report Posted March 21 Taking visits and signing a contract are obviously two different things. Hard to make a decision when you haven’t even spoken with decision makers. Quote
HoosierCat Posted March 21 Report Posted March 21 Patrick allegedly had offers from NO and Seattle on the table and chose to take $2.1 million from Cincy. I think that tells you a lot about the guard market right now. Quote
