AMPHAR Posted March 24, 2022 Report Posted March 24, 2022 DJ updated his mock again and the Iowa Center falls to the Bengals at 31. But the spots all the OL goes have changed again. There must be some unsettled opinions on the OL class because I can't recall such swings on who is the top prospect and where that prospect will go. Penning is now back to low teens. Quote

membengal Posted March 24, 2022 Report Posted March 24, 2022 Jay Morrison @JayMorrisonATH · 15m The Collins signing looks even better w/ the contract details, per OTC. 3 years, $20.5M. $5M guaranteed Just a $4.2M cap hit in '22 $1.7M in dead money to get out in Year 3 Quote

He never saw the 3rd year. Great value on Collins, if OTC has the details correct. Cap hits never reach the Dallas contract. Bengals can move on after 1 year and pick up cap space (IF necessary). Hopefully he's a pro bowl player for the Bengals, but he didn't have much of a market. $7m of the contract is wrapped up in per game roster bonus. Great deal by the Bengals. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted March 25, 2022 Author Report Posted March 25, 2022 So how long until Pollack's term "Glass Eaters" becomes the nickname of this offensive line ?? Williams, Carman, Karras, Cappa, Collins... "The Glass Eaters" Should they win a Super Bowl together, that nickname would go down in history. Well, at least in Cincinnati. Quote
TJJackson Posted March 25, 2022 Report Posted March 25, 2022 The Big Johnson will start and do well for the Bucs, mark my words https://twitter.com/FredDaDon74/status/1507368547386863687 1 Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 25, 2022 Author Report Posted March 25, 2022 I will be rooting for Fred but minus injury he’s probably a backup in Tampa. If he gets in there, nothing but well wishes for him. Quote

It'd be great to have 100 yard rusher and 0 sack game right out of the chute this season. Quote

If it’s at guard he’s gonna get Brady murdered and he ain’t starting at tackle there. Quote
Stripes Posted March 25, 2022 Report Posted March 25, 2022 For a different but equally viable spin: The Super Bowl contending Buccaneers are picking up our drops. 1 Quote

membengal Posted March 25, 2022 Report Posted March 25, 2022 Congrats on finding one good play from Johnson at guard. I stand by what I said. He was a fucking disaster there. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 25, 2022 Author Report Posted March 25, 2022 I'm guessing even Bobby Hart has a highlight reel. Not that I have any interest in watching it mind you. Quote

ArmyBengal Posted March 28, 2022 Author Report Posted March 28, 2022 JC Tretter has been a free agent now for going on a couple weeks. Wonder what's up there ? Quote
Stripes Posted March 28, 2022 Report Posted March 28, 2022 A few good players like him are still out there (e.g., Jadaveon Clowney and Jarvis Landry). Nobody wants former Browns. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 28, 2022 Author Report Posted March 28, 2022 The difference there is that Tretter has been more than a solid contributor to that team. Quote

Could be a handful of things. Age? Recent play? Maybe the Center draft class is impressive? FA speaks all truths and money dries up fast. The name guys left on the market eventually will land somewhere but it likely won't be with a mega deal that was seen the first day of tampering period. Bozeman I think had to settle for a 1 year deal. IMO, Center is that much of an impact position. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted March 28, 2022 Author Report Posted March 28, 2022 Oh I'm not suggesting they throw a ton of money or that he's a must have. He's simply been linked (much like all o-linemen) and I was curious if there was anything recently? Neither here nor there for me. I'm pretty much happy as can be with the improvement. Quote

COB Posted May 7, 2022 Report Posted May 7, 2022 The above projects the pass protection rankings for all 32 NFL teams after the draft. It obviously makes some assumptions regarding starters, undoubtedly includes free agent signings and trade acquisitions. We’re looking good, the Steelers are looking horrible. 1 Quote
