HoosierCat Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 Not a movie but I highly recommend Netflix's Luke Cage. First half of the season is a bit better than the second half but good fun overall. Quote
volcom69 Posted October 10, 2016 Author Report Posted October 10, 2016 Yea I'm hearing very good things about Luke Cage Quote
volcom69 Posted October 13, 2016 Author Report Posted October 13, 2016 Looks awesome can't wait! They have done such an awesome job, I bet this one will be just as good. Quote

BengalszoneBilly Posted October 23, 2016 Report Posted October 23, 2016 They just showed the previews for Bad Santa 2. The same kid/cast from the first movie is back in this one. Looking forward to seeing this one too! Quote
HoosierCat Posted November 7, 2016 Report Posted November 7, 2016 Caught Doctor Strange today. Fun movie, though since it's a Marvel origin movie you've seen the same general thing before. In this case it's sort of Iron Man with magic instead of a mech suit: arrogant jerk gets humbled, learns how to be a hero, beats bad guy who has the same general power set but chose the other side, etc. Cumberbatch is as perfect as Strange as everyone thought he would be. Rachel McAdams has a bit role and it's a shame she didn't get more to do but she makes the most of it and, refreshingly, doesn't get crammed into a damsel-in-distress bit. You'll love Wong. Chiki Ejowfor or however the frack u spell it is fine but his character Mordo didn't do anything for me and he prospect of seeing more of him doesn't excite. Your mileage may vary. As usual the villain is forgettable, he's just there to move the plot along between bouts of exposition and sfx. Speaking of the sfx, the visuals are awesome. Definitely spring for 3D if you go. And if you've been saving up some shrooms or a tab of acid do those too. Oh, one last thing, the breakout character of the film is a piece of apparel. You'll understand if you go. Quote

HoosierCat Posted December 9, 2016 Report Posted December 9, 2016 This looks fun, unlike the last few tries. http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/see-spider-man-battle-vulture-in-first-homecoming-trailer-w454829 Quote
volcom69 Posted December 14, 2016 Author Report Posted December 14, 2016 I liked certain Spider-Man's, some much better then others. The latest captain America I thought was the best one as well. GOTG I can't wait for loved the first one. Quote

HoosierCat Posted December 27, 2016 Report Posted December 27, 2016 She will indeed. Sleep well, Carrie. Now if you'll pardon me I have to go find some more tissues. Quote
HoosierCat Posted December 29, 2016 Report Posted December 29, 2016 And her mother, Debbie Reynolds, dies the next day. Thought and prayers to their family, I can't imagine what it must be like today. I won't be sad to see this year go at all. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted December 29, 2016 Report Posted December 29, 2016 Craziness right there. Sad days for the family for sure. Quote
volcom69 Posted December 29, 2016 Author Report Posted December 29, 2016 She probably died of a broken heart, I'm sorry to hear this RIP! Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 7, 2017 Report Posted January 7, 2017 Finally saw Rogue One. Overall impression: meh. Loved the callbacks/setup for/Easter eggs from A New Hope, the big battle is lots of fun and so are the smaller fights...but in the end none of it really engaged me because I didn't care about any of the characters. They just sort of meet up and you never learn much about any of them, and they don't get much interaction time. Good action movies can use action to develop characters (Marvel movies are all about this) but here it's just lots of fx and stuff blowing up and occasionally some of the heroes do cool fight stuff. 2/4 stars. volcom69 Posted January 8, 2017 Author Report Posted January 8, 2017 Uh thanks for the review Hoosier was hoping for better on this one. Will have to see it soon Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 9, 2017 Report Posted January 9, 2017 Me too. FWIW my daughter liked it more than I did so maybe it's just me... Quote
COB Posted April 17, 2017 Report Posted April 17, 2017 Watched a movie called "Lion" with my 13 year old son. Can recommend it for adults and kids. Really caught me. Quote
