ArmyBengal Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 Hard to say about the other players. There were some there, but I can't say how they would have fit what we do.Just because I thought Malcom Brown would have been great to have in the DT rotation, they felt otherwise.I'm left to assume they felt the same way about some other LB's and such. membengal Posted September 29, 2015 Report Posted September 29, 2015 Franchise LTs are not a given in any draft - and especially where the Bengals have been picking. I wasn't thrilled with Ogb pick - but I do get the reasoning. If he recovers, they have ensured themselves line stability for a decade at LT - and that's not easy to do from the middle to back end of the first round in most drafts. Quote

skyline Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Tez posted this before the Buffalo game. I really hope it's referring to his imminent return rather than the start of the game. https://twitter.com/King55Tez/status/655737424811814912 Quote

Posey has played witht the Texans who Zjust happens to be who they play next. What are the odds he gets signed? (Ignore that random Z above. I can't edit it out with this stupid phone.) Quote
HoosierCat Posted November 27, 2015 Author Report Posted November 27, 2015 Well, it's official. @AdamSchefter: Bengals activated OT Cedric Ogbuehi and placed CB Darqueze Dennard on IR. Denard is first Bengal to go on IR since start of regular season. Quote
HoosierCat Posted November 30, 2015 Author Report Posted November 30, 2015 So long, Sean Porter. Released from PUP list today. Bengals also signed CB Asa Jackson (former 5th round pick by Ozzie the Genius) to the taxi squad. To make room OL Dan France was cut. Not surprised by the PS move. Been expecting them to add a CB with all the injuries to the secondary. Team is also reportedly working out another former Ravens corner, Chykie Brown, today. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted December 1, 2015 Report Posted December 1, 2015 With how absolutely horrendous the Ravens secondary is, are there no concerns with us picking up guys that couldn't cut it there ?? Oh well, help had to come from somewhere. Quote
HoosierCat Posted December 1, 2015 Author Report Posted December 1, 2015 My concern was mainly picking up another body for practice. If Jackson ends up playing it will only be because the Bengals have been totally annihilated at DB, in which case they're probably screwed anyhow. Dehner had some info on Jackson's time in & release from Baltimore in his walkthrough column today: Quote Jackson fought through an ankle injury and was waived-injured during a purge of sorts by the Ravens following the demoralizing loss to Jacksonville (hey, when you lose to the Jags, heads roll). He committed two costly penalties in the loss and Harbaugh clearly had enough and cut him loose along with returner Jeremy Ross, who fumbled a return in the game. As much a message letting those guys go as it was their actual play. Here's a bit from Ravens.com writer Garrett Downing upon the release: Harbaugh voiced his frustration for the penalties during Monday’s press conference, saying “there’s no place for that. “That’s what we call a foolish penalty,” he said. “And for one guy to have three personal foul penalties in a season – in a career, let alone a season, let alone two in a game – is unacceptable.” Jackson had been moved on and off the roster several times this season. He was initially cut out of training camp, but then returned to Baltimore as a member of the practice squad. He was called up to the 53-man squad midway through the year and found a niche on special teams as a punt and kick blocking specialist. He played in four games, blocked an extra point and a punt, and also had one tackle. Quote

HoosierCat Posted December 15, 2015 Author Report Posted December 15, 2015 Ravens officially sign Mallet. There was some talk yesterday that the Bengals were trying to snatch him away but the Ravens gave him a $2.5 million deal so...good. Christian Ponder watch now officially on. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted December 15, 2015 Report Posted December 15, 2015 So let me get this straight. Mallett, who has been said to have issues dating back to his time in college, who has never done anything worth mentioning during his time in the NFL, seemingly doesn't understand what an alarm clock is, and needed professional help to deal with the issues that led to his release from the Texans, can earn 2.5 million from the Ravens ?? Jesus I really should have tried harder when it came to sports. Unreal. Quote
