HoosierCat
Allen also had pneumonia or something last season that cost him some games and made him lose like 30 lbs. And he still put up numbers that would have made him a stud in Cincy. So yeah, he can still play. The one caveat is that he can be a liability against the run. Chicago is switching to a 3-4 so he may not be a fit there any longer. I wouldn't be surprised if he was released.
ArmyBengal
Chicago is on the hook for that 12+ million in 2015 if he's with the team or not.I can't see why they would give up on depth at a minimum, unless Allen's just hell bent. HoosierCat
Nothing about the Bears would surprise me. I find myself warming up to them more and more because they're almost as hapless as the Bengals.New tidbit from Harvey: looks like Boling will generate some interest if he gets into FA./>http://espn.go.com/blog/cincinnati-bengals/post/_/id/15734/what-makes-clint-boling-an-under-radar-favoriteI don't think losing Boling would be a big blow, but I'd prefer to see them not open up any more holes ahead of the draft. HoosierCat
I think this is the first confirmed meeting: OL Greg Mancz. HoosierCat
Well, the Bengals must have been impressed because they're already opening up room on the o-line. So long, Mike Pollack./>http://www.cincyjungle.com/contracts/2015/2/20/8078393/cincinnati-bengals-released-offensive-lineman-mike-pollakYup, let's not release Robert "10,000-year-old man" Geathers or Domata "worst DT in the league last year" Peko. Instead we cut a productive offensive lineman.I don't get this at all.

Passepartout
Yeah as you need to have a great depth line out there!
HoosierCat
Per Harvey, the Bengals have an interview set with Bud Dupree. Scottishbengal
Maybe his knees were bad?I was thinking the same thing .... he seemed to appear on the Injury Report fairly often and although a decent back up I wonder if he's just done. GapControl
I think this is the beginning of a several cuts to open up more cap room
HoosierCat
It only opens up about $1 million in additional space and they already have about $35 million in cap room, so I doubt that was the main reason.
HoosierCat
Another possible guy they're looking at:/>http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/news/slideshow/NFL-Combine-Day-3-103675/photo-7553063.phpHere's his profile. HoosierCat
I'm starting to get a bit concerned about Boling./>http://www.cincyjungle.com/2015/2/23/8085213/pro-football-focus-rates-clint-boling-as-third-bestNot that he's indispensable, but he's an average to good player IMO and losing him would add to, not subtract from, the team's needs. However, the Bengals have never been fond of paying for guards.
GapControl
could Boling be let go, and Whit move inside? With the bengals targeting a 1st or 2nd round LT? Or even a young, upcoming FA LT? That could help to explain why pollak was released, too.
Scottishbengal
could Boling be let go.I'm not sure they'll just let him walk, rather they'll see what the market offers him and maybe match (or maybe not if the $$ is too high in their view, as was the case with baby Hawk). They certainly need to address depth as A) Whitworth isn't getting any younger and Zeitler, Whitworth and Moobs are all out of contract after next season.Current roster shows:-GUARDS - Boling, Zeitler, tey HopkinsO TACKLES - Dan France, Tanner Hawkinson, Matthew O'Donnell, Moobs, Whit, Winston ......and Marshall Newhouse.Maybe they'll re-sign Pollak if his knee isn't Fu%*ed ...... but then if it's not why cut him in the first place? Plenty of cap space to accommodate him (reportedly $1.4M cap hit this season) so I can't see why he was released unless it was an injury based decision

That said Whit reportedly vetoed a move to guard after 2013, and the Bengals seem adamant that they want to keep Boling.
