And he still put up numbers that would have made him a stud in Cincy. So yeah, he can still play. The one caveat is that he can be a liability against the run. Chicago is switching to a 3-4 so he may not be a fit there any longer. I wouldn't be surprised if he was released. Quote

Scottishbengal Posted February 24, 2015 Report Posted February 24, 2015 could Boling be let go.I'm not sure they'll just let him walk, rather they'll see what the market offers him and maybe match (or maybe not if the $$ is too high in their view, as was the case with baby Hawk).They certainly need to address depth as A) Whitworth isn't getting any younger and Zeitler, Whitworth and Moobs are all out of contract after next season.Current roster shows:-GUARDS - Boling, Zeitler, tey HopkinsO TACKLES - Dan France, Tanner Hawkinson, Matthew O'Donnell, Moobs, Whit, Winston ......and Marshall Newhouse.Maybe they'll re-sign Pollak if his knee isn't Fu%*ed ...... but then if it's not why cut him in the first place? Plenty of cap space to accommodate him (reportedly $1.4M cap hit this season) so I can't see why he was released unless it was an injury based decision Quote

That said Whit reportedly vetoed a move to guard after 2013, and the Bengals seem adamant that they want to keep Boling. Quote
