Happy for both him and the organization.

I mean what point would there be in making a change like that at this point in time ??

Dalton and him are tied to the hip and if Dalton fails, Marvin will probably follow him out the door.

Oh all right, fine. Be all calm, cool and collected. Leave it to me to have to carry ALL the water for the other side.

**Ahem**

You people are the perfect example of why the Bengals will never win anything. From the front office to the fans, the watchword is mediocrity. The Bengals want to be just good enough to keep the money rolling in from sheep like you, but not good enough that they have to lose money because they win playoff games. They found the perfect QB for this three seasons ago, and now have extended the perfect head coach, Mediocre Marv himself.

11 long years. That's how long MM has been at the helm of this rusty tub. And to where has the S.S. Bengals sailed in that time? 90-90-1. A PERFECT record in Mikey Brown's view. That includes a 90-85-1 record in the regular season and an 0-5 record in the postseason (again PERFECT). Wake up, sheeple!!!! Until "Giggles" gets the boot we have no hope. Even then we're probably doomed because ownership is terrible but at least there's a chance someone might come in and screw up and win for a change.

Makes sense this way he can't jump ship if suddenly he wins a superbowl (unlikely anyways)

Short enough that if he goes 0-16 Mike Brown would only have pay for one extra year...Though doubt he'd be cut if that happened.

is there anywhere we can find the nitty gritty details of the contract ... like a severence clause should the Bengals :-

A: fail to make the play-offs and/or

B: fail to win yet another play-off game

MB doesn't want ML going into the start of the season with just one year remaining on his contract?? And so hands out a 12month extension??

So this time next year it'll be the exact same situation again then ..... where's the change, where's the logic ??

Give him a ten year extension for all I care as long as there's a "lose and yer out" clause ...... Marvins had plenty of time to do his business, time to move on and let someone else have a shot on the pot for chrissakes

even if you Hate him as a coach, But at End of the Day Marvin is a very good man.

Of the eight coaches asked, only one said he read it: Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis.

"I was appalled," he said. "It was embarrassing."

Out of 8 coaches polled about the Miami crap Only Marvin read the entire report.

It's always hardest to confront problems in your own culture (and by culture I'm talking about football culture here), so no surprise so many head coaches passed on reading the Wells Report. So yeah, props to Marvin for at least taking a look.

This may or may not be significant.

Most expensive homes sold in metro Phoenix this past week

PNI 7:26 p.m. MST April 13, 2014

An executive of a telemarketing company, a co-owner of the Phoenix Mercury women's basketball franchise, the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals of the NFL, a former executive of Waste Management, a Denver financial adviser, a Realtor and a dermatologist are among the buyers and sellers of this week's priciest home sales.

...

$2,820,000

Marvin and Peggy Lewis purchased a 7,674-square-foot house with pool built in 2007 on the south side of the Desert Highlands Golf Club in Scottsdale. Marvin Lewis is head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. He guided the Bengals to three straight playoff appearances (2011, 2012 and 2013), a first in franchise history. The house was sold by Robert and Rainey Boucher. Robert Boucher left Waste Management as executive vice president of operations in November to become CEO of Transpacific Industries Group Ltd., a waste-management and industrial-services company operating in Australia and New Zealand.

2.8 million dollar house in Scottsdale? What is going on here? Marvin may want a vacation house, but 2.8 million? The guys covering this team should be asking Marvin about this pronto.
