F'ing Steelers are a classless organization just like the Saints. I'm surprised Tomlin didn't try another "step onto the field" trick or some other cheating, low class nonsense. Lost all respect for that organization, f'ing losers, enjoy 3rd or 4th place this year.

I guess on Bengals' Line the other night, Lapham was told by a Bengals' player that Steelers' players were telling guys on the field "we got your punter" before the hit.

IF that were true, I would think the NFL would investigate and hand out suspensions and fines.

Not to overreact, but that team/franchise has a significant discipline problem and should be dealt with severely like the Saints to send a message.

That franchise is out of control on the field and Tomlin needs to be suspended and fined just like Payton was at this point. Enough is enough.

As to Tomlin, the only reason he didn't try cheating was because he didn't need to. Had we gotten closer near the end, then all bets are off on what they are capable of.

They are nothing more than thugs! Win at any cost thugs. Period!

As much as I am ashamed to admit this, I was locked up with guys just like them for 33 months. Only difference between those thugs and these is these guys are protected by the NFL!

It's an institutional problem with that team, that sadly goes back to James Harrison's days there. Tomlin enables the culture (his antics on the sideline convince me of that and let players know that stuff's ok if it helps win games).

No idea why they aren't being scrutinized more by the media or the NFL, or punished more severely. They just keep doing it.

What EVERYONE is getting wrong is that while Huber is considered "defenseless" as a punter, it doesn't mean he can't be blocked.

It means he can't be hit in the head and/or neck area and can't be struck using the helmet (like everyone else).

It doesn't mean he can't be blocked.

Garvin or whatever that asswipe's name is, could have laid an absolutely brutal block on Huber had he simply hit him in the chest or shoulder.

It would still have been brutal, but absolutely legal by definition.

What he did was line him up and drill him in the chin with the top of his helmet.

He could have knocked Huber over with a simple stiff arm and gotten the same result.

He deserves a suspension for that low-class sh*t.

I just wish everyone would shut the f*ck up about how punters and kickers should be able to be blocked.

They can, read the freakin' rules. And they call themselves analysts and reporters.

Clowns.

Yep, he could've stood in front of him and been just as effective - instead he went high with the crown of his helmet and put it into his facemask. Completely illegal, especially to a punter for God's sakes, it's like kicking an old lady. Block him but do it legally.

It amazes me players are not ostracized from the union for this kind of thing - doesn't serve any purpose at all and hurts guy's careers.

What the NFL means by a defenseless punter is that you don't hit punters like that. Hit someone your own size. Put another way, what do you think would be the fallout from this if Tom Brady was hit like that after an INT? Nobody'd be complaining about the rule

Any player can knock the living sh*t out of a punter or kicker. They can block them into the second row if that's where they end up.

They just can't hit them in the head or neck and can't use their helmet in doing so. The rule is real clear.

Minus the size of out new punter, most aren't so huge that a LB would need to do more than a simple arm block to get him out of the play.

Garvin can call it the "heat of the game" all he wants, but he clearly knew what he was doing in lining Huber up and lowering his head.

Bottomline is that he saw an opportunity to lay the big hit on someone not playing attention and did it regardless of anything else.

Garvin and the Steelers = douchebag

Part of the problem is that punters don't wear the same level of pads that other players do. And their helmets are different. They aren't meant to protect them from those kinds of hits.

Oh shut up with your coastal elites logic talk. Goodell has turned the game into a ballet for puzzies! That was a PERFECTLTY LEGAL hit and any pansy who complains about it is a pansy who doesn't know REAL football!!! I have no clue who the people are who were doing the discussing, but one of the yahoos was talking about how he watched the tape and does not see how they can call Huber defenseless, (even though that is the rule the NFL put in place for the punters/place kickers) and how he thought the hit was unintentional. That the Steeler saw a white jersey and did his job blocking!

That PoS knew what he was doing he had his head down ready launch 5 yards before he ever hit huber,I hate the retards who saying how are you supposed know it's a punter um because he's 10 yards behind everyone else? Because he's virtually wearing no pads with a dinky helmet? Because he's a white guy who's about half your size?

I guess on Bengals' Line the other night, Lapham was told by a Bengals' player that Steelers' players were telling guys on the field "we got your punter" before the hit.

He Target Huber on the other side of the field,I can't believe people would defend this low life and organization you want player safety goddell? show it.

Reedy passes along the link to the league's video for officials this week, which starts with the Huber hit. Interesting to me because it confirms what I suspected as to why the rule about punters being defenseless was introduced in the first place: because teams were taking shots at punters and kickers away from the play to try and knock them out of the game.

Funny thing about that video is that you can see the block in the back on Hawkins plain as day.

I'm not trying to start a conspiracy theory here, but since these referees aren't replacements, it's hard for me to believe that 3 obvious penalties like this illegal Hawkins penalty, the Huber Hit, and Tomlin's sideline penalty, could be 'missed' coincidentally!
