HoosierCat Posted September 25, 2013 Author Report Posted September 25, 2013 Actually Ghee had a full practice so it appears he made it through day 1! Quote
volcom69 Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 The 1st day injury report I never know about just because they like to rest a lot of guys. If they still don't practice Friday then it's a concern. Just like last week Adam Jones didnt practice much, but still had one of his best games. Yea I'm really hoping Nelson can go. Quote
combatbengal Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 I love the Bengals and will always be a fan! One thing that’s bothered me for years , and it seems to be the same issue this year. On paper we’re a great team but yet we can never go out and just dominate our opponent! For instance, we can play Jacksonville tomorrow, knowing that we should win by a good margin but, we will ensure that it's a close game. This week, I’d like to Bengals to just prove me wrong and go out and dominate the Browns. Beat them by a good 21 plus points! Don’t give them the ball towards the end of the 1st half or game so they can drive down and score on us! Keys to a win:Offense has to start fast and strong and play an entire game. They can’t take a series off; we cannot have any three and outs or penalties to stall drives!Good clock management and don't waste time outs!Andy needs to throw the ball to receivers and not 10 feet over their head!Gio needs to be in for the entire game!!Protect the rockOur kicker needs to place the ball in the back of the end zone on kick offs!Def just performs like they did last week! Stripes Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 I think the Bengals' tendency to play down to their competition parallels their recent history of being a mediocre home team. I'm not sure we're even supposed to mop the floor with Cleveland IN Cleveland. It's the home game we're supposed to dominate. So far this team is a very solid 2-0 at home, so maybe we're in for a change in that regard. I hope so.It certainly starts with selling out every game free of any last minute drama. Get your asses downtown, fans. Quote
Stripes Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 I think my biggest concern in this game is Josh Gordon. He has the potential to be one of the best receivers in the NFL and was on fire last week with Hoyer. Our depleted secondary might have a hard time containing him consistently without just leaving the field wide open for Cameron. Obviously the best way to reduce this threat is to attack Hoyer with constant pressure. The defensive line needs to play very well. The Browns defense is quite solid but I am somehow not concerned about the Bengals finding ways to move the ball. Just don't fall into another turnover whirlpool FFS. Quote

Im just ready for an easy football weekend where im not on the edge of my seat all game, or having a heart attack at the end of the game lol. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 I want to see Dalton continue his improvement, but poor passes happen to everyone. For all the complaints, Dalton is one of the most accurate QB's in the league through three games. How about everyone stop coughing up the d*mn ball ?? GapControl Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 Actually Ghee had a full practice so it appears he made it through day 1!Marvin Lewis on GheeML: “Everybody’s doing a lot better than the initial Sunday afternoon prognosis. We’ll just have to go through the week and see how we do. (Brandon) Ghee will come back and get some practice in now, finally" Quote
GapControl Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 anybody on the board who would have still wanted Prater over Curtis Marsh or Old Man Crocker? Quote
GapControl Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 FWIW The Browns defense outranks the Bengals defense in every statistical category save QB rating. (that one the bengals win by a .04 percentage point) for example, Browns have 12 sacks to Bengals 6what it all means?their defense is nasty Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 I don't think their defense should be underrated, but they are 1-2 for a reason and the one win came against a winless Vikings team that sucks balls.Their offense may have gotten a boost with Hoyer in their, but I still like the pressure our defense will be able to bring.I also think our offensive weapons will be more than they can handle. They havn't played an offense ranked higher than 19 or a defense ranked higher than 15.The Bengals have faced the #5 defense (Pittsburgh) and the #3 offense (Green Bay) and won both games. The Bengals will certainly present the biggest challenge for the Browns to this point in their season. Quote
princeton Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 I think that if you play good defense, then you have a chance to beat anyone. Witness the Bengals coming back to beat Green Bay. Browns and Steelers will both win a few this year. Hopefully, not against us. Quote
TJJackson Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 anybody on the board who would have still wanted Prater over Curtis Marsh or Old Man Crocker?dunnoare you saying Prater has not done well in Philly?(havent kept track of him) Quote
volcom69 Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 Well Nelson and Hall not practicing again. I think if they are out that will hurt. Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 26, 2013 Author Report Posted September 26, 2013 Sorry combat but like I said before don't look for a rout in Cleveland. Their D is stout and if the O is a mess, our secondary is hurting and Gordon is for real. I agree about the turnovers. Those have to stop. Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 26, 2013 Author Report Posted September 26, 2013 Newman back to full go today. But Hall, Nelson and Glasspatrick were all out.No word of any new injury for Ghee, though, so the under is starting to look shaky! Quote
volcom69 Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 Im rooting for Ghee. I thought he was having a good preseason, so im hoping he is healthy and they play him in the slot this weekend.I still see this game being very tough, im hoping the o-line can block there d-line, for some reason they always struggle against the browns. No stupid penalties this weekend, it just always screws them up!This is the type of game I wish they had a fullback for, I would really like them to actually run it more then throw it this game. Quote
GapControl Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 about prater... he was healthy and perfoming in practice. now we are down to Dre Glasspatrick and Brandon Glass, Old man Crocker and his new found buddy a scrub from Philly`s cuts named Curtis Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 27, 2013 Author Report Posted September 27, 2013 OT, but they're getting pretty desperate in Jacksonville. Quote
HoosierCat Posted September 27, 2013 Author Report Posted September 27, 2013 The twitter says Glasspatrick got back on the field today, finally. Hall and Nelson still out though. Quote
princeton Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 defense won the last game, but will be missing some key players on Sunday. so the offense knows that it needs to help a lot more in this game. it's a terrific early season test for them, facing a sound Cleveland defense. Quote
skyline Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 defense won the last game, but will be missing some key players on Sunday. We'll see. My fingers are still crossed on Hall and Nelson. It's unusual for players to play if they miss practice on Friday, but those are two guys that could get by without the weekly work. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 I won't underrate the Cleveland defense, but they really haven't been challenged the way the Bengals offense is going to challenge them. Quote
volcom69 Posted September 27, 2013 Report Posted September 27, 2013 Man they are thin in the secondary, hopefully they will be back next week. I wonder now if Mays will start, not very excited about that. Hopefully the pass rush is better then ever this week, the poor secondary will need it. Hopefully it's a game where Atkins can get started finally. Quote
