Wraith
I have been reading a WHOLE bunch of Negative Andy Dalton articles, usually little jabs like "the Bengals would be dangerous if only they had a QB" so I thought I would run Andy's stats this year so far and average them out. If Andy plays as well the rest of the season as he has the first two weeks he would end the season with the following stat line. 4,496 yards passing, a 65.4 completion %, 24 TDs, 16 INTs and a QB Rating of 88.7. To put that in perspective those #'s ending the year last year would put him 6th in passing yards, 13th in TDs, 6th in completion % and 11th in QB Rating in other words a solid top ten QB.One other thing of interest again based on last year's defensive rankings they have just played the two best defenses against the pass that they will face all year....I thought these statistics were interesting. Kazkal
All honesty I see him having higher stats then that,Offense is just starting to click wait till week 8 or 9.IMO I'd say he passes 30 TD's+ this year.
COB
I don't know about the year, but he better hit when guys get open this week. He got away with some ridiculous throws last week, but there isn't the same margin for error this week. If he plays well, we can beat a top NFC team. I think he will play well, and I think the Bengals will win.

princeton
Andy still has major questions to answer, especially accuracy on the deep throw and the ability to lead a comeback against a good defense.

Eh, that's not a skill. Deep ball accuracy, pocket presence, consistency with throws, yes.
COB
Here's an interesting Dalton stat - when one of his passes goes 8 feet over an open receiver's head I about freak out.But I'm feeling pretty confident he got that out of his system last week. Eh, that's not a skill. it's certainly not an obvious Dalton skill, so far. MLB teams search for closers; one guy might be terrific with the game on the line, while another guy with similar "skills" might collapse like a cheap tent. Dalton might actually make a good MLB closer, as he's quite good when playing with a lead. But the great NFL QBs can reverse negative momentum and drive a team that's within a score of taking the lead. That's not been a Dalton trait so far. He does not change inertia. volcom69
I think he made a huge pass last year to AJ, that gave the FG kicker a chance, and he made it to put the bengals into the playoffs. So much hate for Andy, listening to the radio, with all these young QBs out there his name is never mentioned. Look at his numbers compared to them, or even some of the great QBs out there, looks pretty good to me.
princeton
momentum has been against Cincy for a while in this GB game... it's a great opportunity for Dalton to show that he can shift thingsGB's not even a very good defense. cincyhokie
Dalton is incredibly inconsistent. It's not that he lacks talent. That will be his downfall.
princeton
maybeI'm HOPING that it's a matter of lack of confidence. If he, and the offense, can get a couple of big comebacks, then hopefully it'll snowball but for now, lack of success is what snowballs
princeton
better. not a momentum changer yet, but keep it going...
princeton
ugh, Nugent, wastes a big INT.defense is still the inertia-changing force on this team. That's not awful; there are many good teams like that. But Bengals need a little assistance from the offense, and they're not getting it yetbut the season is young and so are the offensive skill players. His QB rating drops 20 points when his team is trailing by 8 or less. As does Andy's.of course, Rogers is still a 108 when his rating drops by 20; Andy's a 72what a defensive effort today. He still was not great today made stupid mistakes. If this offense can figure it out, not just Dalton, everyone is turning it over, then I really think they could be pretty good. I'd think just about any semi-competent QB could put up the #'s he does here. It's not so much about what he does, but what he doesn't do too often. Lots of talent around him other QB's would love to have.Good for about 2 good scoring drives per game, the rest is the defense battling his mistakes and 3 and out's and turnovers. He is what he is...not sure he's capable of winning a close playoff game requiring minimal mistakes and bad throws, maybe he gets a "Flacco year" at some point like the Ravens' did last year, who knows. volcom69
In the second half of the Packers game Dalton was 13-16 for 168 and 2 TDs. I think the big thing is he just needs to settle down. I also think he is still trying to force it to Green on double teams, when he has other wide open guys. I think if he can just come out and settle down, look for the open guy, not just Green, he might be alright.

volcom69
There was minimal forcing it to AJ today.Im not really just saying today, I do like how he is spreading the ball around. If I remember correct that INT was going to Green I cant remember. Either way im just saying there is a lot of talent around him, don't force it to one guy.
