volcom69
Geno done with ACL. If I were the bengals I would bring Ratliff in for a tryout, see how he looks and maybe sign him for the rest of the year. Sucks they need d-line help, and secondary help
kingwilly
I like who we have here now on the D line. Still is getting better, Thompson needs to produce. Gilberry can kick inside.Secondary is more touchy. Dre HAS to come to Jesus and find the light. R1 picks need to produce, now is the time. Ready or not. Vinny Rey was so-so. Miami gashed the D in the first half. Rey may not be an all pro but he can play steady ball, which is gonna be needed. There is not much out there on the street and the trade deadline came and went, so whatcha gonna do.....
Scottishbengal
Any decent secondary players from the draft that are on someone's Practice Squad that we could raid ..... ala Cleveland with our own Reid Fragel

There is not much out there on the street and the trade deadline came and went, so whatcha gonna do.....They are thin on the D-line with only 7 guys on the roster. They need to sign at least one more guy who can be trusted in the rotation. DeQuin Evans is not that guy.(I sometimes think that Ryan Whalen and Evans must be holding onto incriminating blackmail evidence-its been years for both and they still cannot be trusted with any significant playing time, but they are still hanging around)
TJJackson
Jay Ratliff is getting a lot of mention as a Geno replacement but he is still weeks away from being physically able to play, and we need a guy now
blueridge
Jay Ratliff is getting a lot of mention as a Geno replacement but he is still weeks away from being physically able to play, and we need a guy nowYeah. He worked out with two teams this week who believe he will be able to play in a month. More likely, the Bengals will sign a guy (or guys?) from those they recently worked out,i.e., David Carter, Kheeston Randall,Sam Montgomery. They liked Montgomery a lot during the draft season. Although he's not a DT,I could see Zimmer rolling with 5 DEs and 4 DTs. I definitely see more playing time for Hunt. One thing is certain-if they promote DeQuin Evans from the PS there is no plan. Sea Ray
This is the problem with a 53 man roster. The NFL is a rough league. With 16 games only the most lucky of teams don't get decimated at some position. 53 is not nearly enough to get through a season without signing someone off the street to start somewhere in the season. It happens every year and not just in Cincinnati
Scottishbengal
One thing is certain-if they promote DeQuin Evans from the PS there is no plan.Well he does have a wee bit of experience and has been with the Bengals for a couple of years so he should know the plays/calls. Maybe a better prospect than dragging someone off the street depending on who that someone is - but if that someone were of any real note they'd have been signed by a team by now is my guess. kingwilly
I like Evans, just need him to lay off the juice. With Geathers and Atkins down, the D line could stand to bring in a big body. But Thmpson Still Gilberry and Peko can hold things down while they get the right guy. Ratliff is now a Bear, so he's not an option. Gonna take a look across the PS out there, and who else might be available. The Sam Montgomery mention is interesting. Him being cut from Houston begs a look. He's a James Harrison type, more LB than end. Make you wish they'd kept Moch.We do have cap room for Seymour and he'd fil in quite nicely. Would spell the end for Geathers, for sure but the business side can be brutal at times. Go get him.

HoosierCat
Geno officially to IR, Bengals sign DT Christo Bilukidi./>http://www.bengals.com/news/article-1/Oakland-12-draft-pick-signs-as-Atkins-goes-on-IR--/34738b50-85e9-49c1-8295-ba5ef6d23a6b?campaign=cin:fanshare:twitterHobs:The 6-5, 320-pound Bilukidi, who played 71 downs for the Raiders in five games and had a sack before being waived last week, is a sixth-rounder out of the Margus Hunt mold with little football experience but has an interesting athletic upside. The Bengals' search for a veteran to add to the line was brief, since they were looking for a healthy guy that could play right away, was in shape, and had at least a training camp and preseason under him. A lot of the vets didn't qualify and in Bilukidi they get a guy who has been in a game the past few weeks.Bilukidi, 23, took 249 snaps as a rookie last season in 13 games after being the first player drafted out of Georgia State's new program. He didn't begin playing football until he was a senior in high school in Ottawa, but still ended up also being a third-round pick of Winnipeg in the CFL draft.Bilukidi, whose father is a diplomat, was born in Angola and lived in France and Brazil before arriving in Ottawa, where he was a second-team all-region selection in basketball after lettering all four years in high school. They also brought LB Bruce Taylor back to the PS. With Still still iffy, they need a body to spell BT and Peko.
TJJackson
Never stop trying to improve the roster :-)Whereever/Whenever you canNot saying he'd necessarily replace Boley, but is there a chance he'd be an improvement over our current third string guy?
